"Best Hotel in Hiroshima"
Stayed here for 2 separate days and staff were very accomodating and thoughtful, we came in very late in the evening so when the check in staff saw us, he immediatley welcomed us with a smile, knowing that we were the one he was waiting for. Rooms are very large and can fit a whole family, the bathroom and toiletries are really generous and well thought out. The bed was really comfy and soft with large pillows. Breakfast the next day was glorious and tasty, try the bacon and basil sausage (the basil sausage is a burst of flavors once you get to eat it). Staff were also very nice and accomodating, the lady at the omelette stand was very nice, while the head chef was also very hands on talking to each customer that came in and out of the buffet area. I hope to be able to stay at this hotel again, since it could be a good homebase for a vacation...
"Great hotel close to Hiroshima train station!"
We've been staying at a couple Starwood's while traveling in Japan, some were substandard and others, this one, fantastic! Before arriving, we were thrilled to find that not only was the hotel close to the train station but it actually was attached! After a week of hopping city to city, discovering our resting place was so close was a very welcomed surprise! We were greeted warmly and the staff immediately was so helpful. I mentioned to the gentleman checking us in that we just got engaged ( 2 days before!) and he immediately looked to upgrade us! Unfortunately they didn't have any available so he sent up a nice bottle of champagne! When we got up to the room, we realized the upgrade wasn't even necessary, the room is pretty fantastic! We have platinum status so we also got to enjoy the Club Lounge. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic as well as afternoon drinks (surprisingly good selection of drinks!). This was very well run, with a kind, well trained staff. Lastly we enjoyed the Bridges buffet in the lobby. I reviewed this separately so I'll just summarize - really good for a buffet! Especially a hotel buffet. Good variety, service and overall a great choice when we were too tired to venture out after a long day. Summary - really good staff and overall very nice hotel. Highly recommended :)
"Student study tour"
We had 12 students in Year 5 & 6 on a study tour group. The rooms were modern, clean & well appointed. Towels, robes, water bottles & toiletries were refreshed every day in abundance. This hotel was a great base for our study tour next to the station making many parts of Japan accessible. We would like to thank staff for making us feel welcome.
"Nice clean, comfortable and convenient hotel"
Hotel is right next to Hiroshima station, so very convenient when travelling by train. The hop-on hop-off buses start out the front, and it's also close to the trams. It is clean and modern, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was decent. There if free wifi in rooms, but only for 1 device. Good all round hotel.
Overall the Sheraton was a nice place. The front desk and concierge were very helpful. The concierge directed us to a great place to have Udon noodles. It was a small quiet little restaurant (forgot the name) where we had a great experience. The rooms are a good size and are nice and quiet which is important since I'm a light sleeper. We had two rooms and from my room we did not hear the trains but my kids said they could hear the trains from their room (which was across the hall). The room is a bit awkward for our two adult children as the shower has a translucent glass door which still allows you to see shapes. The toilet is separated by a similar translucent glass door which provides very limited privacy. The toilet door is an example of a poor choice of style over substance. The final issue was that the shower floor (in both rooms) had mold. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Japan (Westin Tokyo, Hyatt Kyoto being the others) this was the least impressive. That is understandable as the Sheraton brand is not on the same level as those two hotels but with extra effort on cleaning and better design choices they could have been right on par.
