We stayed here for 2 nights in a room with King size bed. Room was large and comfortable. the bath was full size, a nice surprise. We ate in the buffet restaurant both nights as guests got a 50% discount on food. The roast Wagu beef was really good. The hotel is at the station which is really convenient but the view has been built out a bit by other buildings. 20 - 30 minute tram ride to peace park
We loved the two club rooms we had and the access to happy hour with great food & drinks and afternoon tea not to mention access to the pool and sauna. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with the head chef extremely apologetic over an incident with a nut allergy.
"Comfortable, Central & Convenient location for Hiroshima & Miyajima stopover"
Our overnight stay at Sheraton Grand Hiroshima was a very comfortable one. Location wise, it is fantastic for overseas travelers using the Shinkansen or bullet trains to travel intra-city. It is literally located right next to Shinkasen North exit, to the right. Just look for the big Sheraton building on your right as your exit, with the other big hotel being the Hotel Granvia on your left. First tip: If you are intending to visit to Miyajima island, just walk to the South Exit of the station to catch the free JR train that is included in the JR Pass, with the connecting JR Ferry to Miyajima also included. We stayed in room 1921, and found the room spacious and modern, even with a recycle bin next to the normal rubbish bin, a nice touch. A further environmental friendly move is the pump pack shampoo, conditioner & gel in the bathroom instead of little individual containers. The room has good amenities, including an inroom safe, yukata sleep wear, slippers, toothbrush, hair brush/comb, sewing kits, hair pins and bath foam. The makeup mirror & ironing board are always handy too. We paid for the breakfast inclusion, and found the variation large enough for a hearty breakfast. Second tip: Get to the breakfast early or avoid the peak hours, as they can get busy with queues forming outside otherwise. Friendly services with staff who spoke adequate English for conversation and helpful directions. The management even surprised us with a nice bouquet for my wife as our anniversary. Overall a pleasant stay.
This was our top stay in Japan so is therefore my top pick for Hiroshima. I wont waste time telling you why, look at the graph and your choice shouldn't be a hard. Get a good price c and you've definitely scored. I'll just move now shall I, hiw about the tour bus green and orange stop is right outside the hotel front. Amazingly this is FREE to JR pass holders and takes about 10 minutes or so to A Bomb Dome which is likely why you're here. Bus runs regular all day till late so superb service. The Shinkansen train is also right outside the hotel. Another plus. Oh yes sonething about the hotel. I have to say the bed was amazing and by Japanese standards, our room was huge which was a massive relief after a series of regular stays and yes there is free internet, these seem to be the most often asked questions covered. Need to know anything else drop me a line. Cheers C
"Sheraton lives up to its name"
My boyfriend and I stayed one night this week at the Sheraton, and it was great. We opted for the Lounge option, and it was well worth the additional cost. Our room was on the top floor, had floor to ceiling windows and a big bathtub. We enjoyed make-your-own drinks in the Lounge during Happy Hour, and frequently returned just to drink tea and read a book in a comfy setting. The Lounge option also included half-price on the dinner buffet (delicious) and free breakfast buffet (good but not as good as the dinner). The Sheraton is a chain, so there wasn't anything particularly homely about it. But luxury is luxury, and paying extra was worth it in my opinion.
