"Great location but very busy with tourist groups"
We stayed here for 2 nights as we visited Hiroshima and Miyashima. It is well placed beside the railway station and great for connections to and from Hiroshima. The hotel entrance was tricky to find first time due to building works, but once inside, there was a warm welcome at the front desk. The room was a good size, comfortable, quiet and well furnished. We had cocktails in the bar next to the Japanese restaurant, both of which were empty and lacked atmosphere. We discovered why when we went to the Bridges restaurant which was really busy - the very good value and extensive buffet meant that it was nearly full. The first night there were 2 large groups in and we felt like we were intruding on private parties, but the second night was much more civilised. The staff were doing their best to cope but were stretched. The breakfast buffets were equally extensive - good quality and great value. All the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. A good standard hotel for a couple of nights.
"Amazing location, rooms, and breakfast buffet"
My husband and I stayed here two nights in November 2016 for a quick trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima while in Japan. It is located immediately next to Hiroshima Station which was incredibly convenient since we got a late start from Tokyo on Saturday, arrived late afternoon, and yet still had plenty of time to catch the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park before it got too dark. The front desk staff was lovely and to our advantage they spoke English fluently. The rooms are enormous. We had a room in a corner which was quiet, bright, and spacious - we had a nice sitting area plenty big enough for us to have dinner in the room that we brought back from the train station. The first morning at breakfast, we did have a relatively long wait time and although tables had been empty for a while, for some reason the staff wasn't seating people in them which was the only thing I can say against this hotel. I similar thing actually happened when we had considered eating dinner at the restaurant in the lobby. My husband and I were standing there for at least five minutes at the entrance waiting to be seated while others were eating, while employees including one standing right next to us behind the baked good display, ignored us which seemed out of character given hospitality we encountered elsewhere - we ultimately got dinner at the train station since we felt unwelcome. Once we got past the delay in getting seated for breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety available - traditional Japanese food, fruit, baked goods, an omelette station, hot vegetables, granola, yogurts, etc. We only stayed two nights and spent the entire second day on Miyajima so we didn't spend a ton of time at the hotel, but the quality seemed quite high given the relatively low cost and great location. I would recommend especially if you're stopping for a brief stay and need the proximity to transportation.
"Love this hotel!!"
What a fabulous hotel!! I must say we were very impressed with this hotel for our two night stay in the city. It's right by the train station so you don't have to walk far with your luggage. The staff were very friendly especially the Executive Chef Mervin McLeod who took the time and trouble to talk to the guests each morning. Our room a delux corner room was large, spacious and had a fab view of the city. We choose to eat at the buffet restaurant and the food was excellent especially the ice cream machine!! There are plenty of shops and restaurants near by and we walked to all the main sights from the hotel. You can also pick up the tourist bus, free with your JR pass from right outside the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to come back one day.
Location is right next to the Shinkansen station making it easy to get to and also close to the metro to navigate around the city. The room was huge making it a really lovely place to spend some time. If you have a JR pass you can get the tourist bus for free just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Would stay here again for sure.
