"Clean, comfortable rooms, great location"
Stayed at the Sheraton Imperial for three nights in a Deluxe King room. The room was of a decent size, and was quite comfortable, however did show signs of wear and tear. The carpets were old and furniture glaringly outdated in comparison to other hotels in the same star category. Its saving grace was definitely the bed itself, which was possibly the best I have ever slept in. Their signature sleep experience beds are indeed something to experience. The bathrooms were large and very clean, fitted with both a bathtub and shower. A flaw with the bathroom was that when using the shower, the grate kept dislodging due to it not being properly fitted, exposing a badly cut dark hole. It wasn't really a big deal (I just kept pushing the grate back into place) but this should be rectified. What did bother me over my stay however, was that I could hear the sound of water running when people in the neighboring rooms were using their bathrooms. I am a light sleeper, so I would usually only be able to fall asleep once the sound of running water stopped. All necessary toiletries and other basics expected to be provided from a luxury chain was done so, and was abundantly replenished daily. The service from staff was impeccable throughout my stay, and as such deserve recognition for this. Check in and check out was smooth. Everyone was always very willing to assist when I required help. The hotel itself is very conveniently located, being opposite Quill mall (which boasts many food options) as well as is a short walking distance from the Medan Tuanku monorail station (providing quick and easy access to tourist hot-spots like Bukit Bintang and KLCC). Overall, Sheraton Imperial is undeniably old, but it does retain a certain old school luxury feel through its very grand entrance and lobby, and its spacious rooms. Refurbishment however should definitely be on the cards for this hotel in order for it to successfully compete with other luxury five star offerings in the close vicinity.
"Mr. Joseph Dukhi"
Excellent hotel with most helpful and polite staff, great suites at reasonable price. There are great restaurants in this hotel bu in case you feel like dining out you're in KL so the choices are almost unlimited, across the street from the hotel is also a nice shopping mall and it's also a 7 minute ride to the TwinTowers and the Pavillion mall. I really enjoyed my stay there and can't wait for my next visit.
"Run-down business hotel in good location"
Sheraton Imperial KL is conveniently located in walking distance to KLCC/Petronas. Monorel station is nearby. The hotel is from inside as un-impressive as it is ugly from the outside. As typical for Sheraton, it attracts business travelers. Good gym. However, my impression was that Sheraton Imperial is not up to the international Sheraton standard: - No recognition of my SPG Gold status despite of presenting the card at check in. - Completely run-down rooms (and large) in the opulent style of the 80ies. Heavily in need for renovation and a "soft renovation" will not do! - unreliable, very slow wifi - I switched off several times and used much faster 4G mobile network. - completely helpless staff in breakfast restaurant that just somehow tried to cope with the amount of the guests. Maybe my pronunciation was unclear but I got a "green tea" while ordering an "Earl Grey tea". Breakfast selection good but much better at Starwood's Le Meridien KL. Overall assessment: according to Int'l standard probably not even four star and certainly not up to the Int'l Sheraton standard. KL has an abundant choice of business hotels - there are plenty choices with better value for money and even if you stay with Starwood!
