"Very comfortable hotel with some deficiencies"
Just spent a fortnight in this hotel and apart from two extremely windy days for this time of the year the weather was great. The bedrooms in this hotel are extremely comfortable and the bath and shower rooms are particularly nice and well serviced by efficient domestic staff. Generally the staff were very accommodating. We dined in the Spanish restaurant on two occasions. The waiting staff were great. The food however was a very mixed bag - on the first night it was excellent on the second night is was very disappointing almost inedible and at 130 Uk pounds for two unacceptable. The bar service was extremely slow and drinks particularly spirits very expensive. You are better off walking down the road into the nearby village about 300 metres away. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Unfortunately the hotel was blessed with the usual low class of idiots who went and put towels on sun beds early in the morning and then strolled up at midday or later. If you thought that bed blocking in the NHS was bad wait until you see this place. The sooner that hotels deal with this problem the better. The other strange thing commercially was that in two weeks by the pool we were not asked by a single member of staff if we wanted a drink or snack which. I found a bit bizarre for a 5 star hotel. To sum it up a good quality comfortable hotel with some fundamental issues to sort out. But we would stay there again
We stayedat the end of December. Unfortunately we arrived at the hotel without any suitcases. The hotel provided toothbrushes and toothpaste but that was it. We were not shown to our room but we were directed that it 'was down the hall, after the lifts and on the right'. Perhaps as we had no suitcases they did not think it was necessary to show us to the room. The cot for our 2 yr old had no bedding except a bottom sheet. We had to sign a disclaimer to obtain a blanket. No slippers in our room nor anything like a kid friendly welcome pack. Shampoo/conditioner/ body wash was not replenished daily so we often ran out. We were a family of 4 however we only were given 2 bottles of water so we daily had to ask for 2 more. A floor light also disappeared from our room half way through the holiday. Breakfast - only on one morning were we offered tea/ coffee. All other days we had to get it for ourselves. Breakfast food was fine. Pools- were freezing. Not heated enough for anyone to really swim. The staff blamed the wind which apparently stopped the pools being heated. My 2yr old and 5yr old rarely got in the pool which was a shame. The jacquizi which was just warm enough to get in did not allow children under 16. My 5 yr old was told by the lifeguard that she would have to get out as it was adults only. I pointed out there was no one at all in any of the pools so perhaps she could stay in! A discussion followed! The towel cards are mean! Not a 5 * experience. The flooring of the pool area was broken and dirty so flip flops were needed to walk around. Service at the hotel was not really done with a smile. In comparison the Kids club was great and my children enjoyed the activities. New Year's Eve was also done very well and we had a good evening. Location however is great and we enjoyed going out in the evenings to the local restaurants. Getting a cab sometimes was a bit of a wait as the hotel does not have taxis on standby.
"Our second visit to the Sheraton"
We stayed at the Sheraton last January for a week. We made a mistake checking on trip advisor reviews before we left the airport on January 3rd. Three bad reviews one after the other! We were worried that the service had declined since visiting last January. We need not have worried. Service was excellent, staff were excellent, rooms superb and we stayed in 331. Great view and sun all day. Food is great. We hope to go back soon. Thanks Sheraton.
"Nice for 4 stars"
I was in april 2016 in Tenerife in hotel Sheraton la Caleleta Resort & Spa. What I can tell you is that in this hotel you can realy relax durring your hollidays. The staff was OK and everywhere was very clean. They are doing a lot of work to clean the swimming pool site every morning. The rooms are good enough, the bathroom has a separate toilet room, but the balcony is to smaal . The breakfast was OK, every morning the same, but de buffet dinner is overpriced (more than 35 euros) and if you want a glas of wine you have to pay more than 5 euros extra. Outside on La Caleta and in the neighoburhood you can get much better for your money and if you are walking left along the beach you can find nice and good restaurants
"Skip the Spa"
I was unimpressed with the spa experience. The water pools were cold, the steam room felt dirty, and I had the worst pedicure of my life (no massage, bad nail timing, and the paint color was a disaster).
