"Very disappointing customer service!!!!!!!"
I average staying in hotels over 100 nights per year and this is hands down the worst customer service I have ever had. I checked into this hotel on Jan 13th. When I arrived late that night I went to take a shower and the handle would not turn. So I went to bed with no shower. The next morning I called the front desk and told them the issue, they said they would have the problem fixed. I also had a maid to come in and try the shower, she also could not get it to work. She also said she would alert maintenance. Two hours later still no one came to my room. I called the front desk again, they told me they would send someone. I went out and came back to my room 4 hours later, shower still not working. I then walked up to the front desk and spoke with a manager named Betty. I told her I had booked another hotel and she informed me I would be refunded for the night I did not stay and she would send someone right then to fix the shower. I waited in my room another hour and still no one came! I called Betty again and she told me that someone came to my room and there was nothing wrong with the shower. I then advised her I had been waiting in my room for an hour and no one came. She then advised me that they had sent the maintenance to the wrong room. No apologies. The next morning I checked out a day early (I had advised Betty of this and she told me I would be refunded for the night I did not stay). When I get home I call about the refund, and Betty then informs that I will NOT be refunded because the shower was working. 100% LIE!! If the maid at the hotel cannot turn it on, then how can I'' She also lied about the refund. SO Disappointed in the customer service and lies I was told. I travel over 100 days per year and have never been treated or lied to like I was at this property!!!
"Long weekend at Disney"
We got the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista through Priceline - at first we thought we were disappointed with what the Priceline gods had selected...especially after reading all the reviews...BUT our experience at here was great. Our room was poolside on the 5th floor. The room was nice, clean, had a fridge and a balcony. Really nothing to complain about here. It was updated and comfortable. The pools were great - our kids loved both of the pools and the zero entry pool was nice and warm! The staff around the pool were all friendly and it was a fun atmosphere - on Saturday night they had a movie poolside which was nice. The hot tubs were both nice and hot. There's a bar out by the pools with TVs and food service. The location was also great. We took the shuttle in one day to Magic Kingdom and then Ubered back because the shuttle pick up time didnt work with our plans. We were within walking distance to a ton of places to eat! Theres soemthing for every type of eater around there. We were really happy with our expeirence. Honestly I was glad to be staying off Disney property - gave us a nice break from the crazines without being too far away from the action.
"Stay Next Dooe at the Fairfield Inn"
I stayed here because this is where work colleagues booked this hotel. Upon arrival it is clear this is a hotel that was built in the 70s. They have worked to update the rooms but I would say they have not been upgraded. Don't rely on the photos of the rooms on the website to fool you. They are not what is represented. I booked a "suite" so we could conduct meetings in the room and there was barely any room. The building I was in was number 4 and it has exterior entrances like an old motel. I did not feel safe to stay in the room as it was overlooking a parking lot and there was not a lot of light in the hallway. I left and checked into the Fairfield Inn next door and just joined my colleagues for our various meetings.
"Well worth the chance!"
I just completed a 2 week business trip to Orlando. My usual hotels were booked full and this one was the next closest to the office. At first I was hesitant to book due to some of the reviews, however, I need not have been concerned as I did not experience any of the issues they reported and found the property to be in great shape, clean and up to date. My stay started with checking, there was one clerk working the front desk checking in a family in front of me. When a manager passing by say that there was a 'line' (one person - me) She immediately got behind the counter and checked me in. At many other hotels, this would not have happened and they would just have let the 'line' proceed. - WELL DONE! When I got to my room, I found it to be completely up to date, spotless and comfortable and in excellent shape and working order. All through the 2 weeks, I found the staff to be warm and pleasant and without a doubt living up to the standards that I have expected from Marriott properties. From my experience I would not hesitate to stay at this property again and can recommend it to others. My only issue is the same with most hotels - lack of water pressure in the shower! I spend 3 times my usual in the shower trying to get the shampoo and soap off. This is a greater waste of water then if they just turned up the pressure a bit.
