"Home Sweet Home"
Lost Counting of how many time i did visit Achti Resort Luxor. To me this place its like an addiction can not go two monthes i without going there to spend at least 8 to 10 days. Each and everytime while the checking out process i just feel that i need more time in Achti Resort Among my second family .This time i did choose to spend my 30th birthday at Achti Resort and it was one of a kind birthday due to the love and care that i did witness by all the staff there. Due to my passion for traveling i do experince lots of hotels with their services. Yet when it come to the best from my own point of view Achti Resort is number one in luxor due to the location and the kind of services that is provided that only screams professionalism in the hospitality industry. Achti Resort Luxor thank you so much for giving my 30th birthday a true meaning that is acompanied by a true joy and memories. I do recommend Achti Resort Luxor for who ever is looking for a relaxing vacation while exploring the beauty and the importance of the city of the first civilization in history.
"Our Second Home Since 1989"
since 1989 and we come to enjoy the outstanding view of the river nile and the West Bank from the Resort's Terrace. During our old days the Resort was managed by Starwood and was well known as Sheraton Luxor one of the main landmarks in luxor. The Resort was well known for its unique hospitality standards that we only experinced and still experince with their wonderful yet professional staff. During the begining of the 2016 Starwood left and took Sheraton's name and another managerial company took over. hearing such news made us think that due to the change of the chain the resort will be affected one way or another. But the impressive surprise was that nothing had changed even the staff all are the same with their managers still keeping their hospitality principles. Achti Resort proved that its never about which name is on the resort its all about the staff and the hospitality service that is provided and the one of a kind view that you only enjoy from the Terrace of Achti Resort. At Achti Resort no matter what we still feel welcomed and see the same cheerful spirit that we got used to since the 80's . To me and to my family Achti Resort didn't give us only home but a family that we are looking forward each and everytime to see whenever we decide to visit luxor. its always a motivation for us to come to see Madonna the first thing while checking in this lady is very remarkable with her angelic smile yet with the professional attitude. Sameh and Sultan with their professional and friendly spirit such mix is hard to combine yet with Sameh and Sultan you can feel it as if its in the air. It brings such a joy to our hearts when we see Ahmed Saady, Hegazy and Ahmed Kamal from the Pool side their smiles can make you forget any trouble you may have and just enjoy the Pool as it should be. Achti Resort thank you for giving us a second home that is full of memories and finally thank you for keeping such a unique level of hospitality. I would recommend Achti for anyone who is looking for having a great time in luxor. counting down and planning for more visits and vacations at Achti Resort Luxor.
"All Fur and No Knickers"
Where to begin.... Sleeping arrangements I guess when we arrived at the Hotel we were tired after a long Journey from the UK with a connecting flight at Cairo. the Flight from Cairo to Luxor was delayed meaning that we didn't arrive at the hotel until around 2 am local time. The check-in was pleasant enough... however when we got to our room, there was 1 double bed. This was a very nice double bed, it, looked very comfortable and at 2 am, it looked very inviting. The problem was, that as well as myself and my wife, there was also my 9 year old daughter..... and no additional bed for a third person. You'd think a quick call to reception would solve this little hiccup. Not so.... It was nearly an hour later before we finally had a knock at the door. 2 members of staff managed to fit a fold out bed into the room and after much furniture arranging and duvet filling, we managed to get some sleep. Beware Full-Board there was no information in our room relating to services, locations of pools etc or the availability of restaurants. After asking one of the reception staff about the availability of restaurants we were regrettably informed that as we were on 'Full Board' we we only allowed to use one of the 3 Hotel Restaurants. This established, we headed off to the suitably named 'Karnak' Restaurant and promptly asked,"would you like to sit outside" Given that this was Egypt, the weather was a healthy 20 degrees, we thought "why not" and followed the waiter outside where we sat and had a very enjoyable meal. It's worth stating at this point that the restaurant staff were excellent; friendly and sociable throughout. When we received our receipt/bill at the end of our stay, there appeared to be items relating to 'poolside meals'. It appears that by eating outside, which we did on two occasions this constituted 'By the pool'. Just to clarify that the pool is still over a small wall about 20 feet away, down a small hill. At no time were we ever told that that eating outside, was not covered as part of the 'Full Board' service. Nor does it appear were the inclusion of drinks, including bottled water which if complimentary in your room. After much negotiations, the hotel agreed to remove the 'poolside' items from the bill, this does however leave a bad taste. the tourist industry in Egypt is on it's backside, with tourist numbers down by around 70%, you would think that these hotels would be keen to make a good impression that makes you want to return. Instead you end up feeling like you have been ripped off, and shown no respect, you are just a number, and they want to try and extract as much money from you as possible. On the Plus Side. The view from our room was exceptional. Waking up to the Nile each day is something special. However, should we return to Luxor, and we fully intend to do so. It wont be at this hotel.
Where do I start with this'!! We arrived on Christmas Day as a family of 3 with a very tall 9 year old only to find there was only one bed in the room. When we raised the issue, there were no apologies and a roll away bed was brought. It took an hour and half for them to bring he bed, then the necessary bed linen, which at 2am after a delayed flight was not particularly appreciated. The extra bed took up most of the space and prevented us from accessing the Nile facing balcony we had paid extra for. No one really seemed to care when we raised this. When we asked reception if they could change money, they said no, but failed to tell us that there was an ATM on site round the corner, which we discovered towards the end of our week there after struggling to get hold of money. The worst however, was the fact that they continuously tried to charge us for food even though we were on full board, insisting that the area we had sat in was outside of the full board 'plan' which only refers to the one restaurant out of the 3 onsite. The receptionists were the most unfriendly and unhelpful I have ever encountered! Given that no in-room guide or info pack was available, this made everything seem like a battle. The 2 stars I have given is for the restaurant staff, who were the beacon of light. Avoid this hotel and go for one of the others, the previous negative reviews ARE accurate, I wish I hadn't discounted them.
Very good hotel, rooms are very clean, our room has the best view of the Nile ever!!! The staff are very polite and helpful especially the general manager who personally helped us a lot with our trip and arranged our activities and sight seeing. Thanks Achti and keep up the good work!
