"Well run very clean hospitable hotel"
Stayed a week in a sea view room. The room was clean large with sufficient closet space. However no coffee maker or kettle and no English channels on the TV. Fortunately we had a laptop with access to Netflix. However here's a real annoyance the WIFI is not free. Like everyone else especially at what we paid for the room it is outrageous to add wifi charges. The breakfast is excellent. The restaurant is so so and expensive. The staff particularly reception are A++++
"Great option for Mar del Plata"
We went for a family trip and we took several rooms. One was a suite and it was excellent. The other 2 rooms were adequate size (on the smaller side) with usual Sheraton decor. The hall was lovely, and I used the gym facilities and I found everything I needed. The breakfast was excellent. But what stood up was the kids facilities- we left the kids on their crèche and they absolutely loved it, the staff was very friendly and they served snacks for the kids too. We'll definitely consider coming back to the Sheraton if we are ever back to Mar del Plata, but for international standards we found it a bit too expensive.
Although nicely located near Mar del Plata's Golf Course, this hotel badly needs to be refurbished if still wishing to claim the prices they are asking. At US$280 per night this outdated hotel does not come cheap. Slow internet connection, old-fashioned rooms (I ordered a double bed but got a twin, and I was given the option to pay extra for a room with double bed!, which I politely declined. The only hotel I stayed in in Argentina that did not have European-compatible plugs. Toilet did not flush. Breakfast was way below a 5-star standard. Even though it claimed to be "almost full" online when I made the reservation, it looked half-empty. Went for lunch in the lobby bar, ordered a steak sandwich which still had not arrived after 45 min (!), so I canceled. VAT (21%) is no longer due on hotel stays in Argentina since 1st Jan 2017, but it was added to my check. I had to make a remark to make them change. The prestige it probably once had is definately gone. Will not come back. Disappointing and a rip-off.
"Nice hotel & location"
Amoung what is Mar del Plata this is one of the best options to stay. Is far from the city center but still a good option since the neigborhood is not crowded. Best value: the breakfast. What to improve: the lobby.
"Well located, good service, rooms a tad small"
We spent the weekend at one of the junior suites at the Sheraton Mar del Plata. We liked the room, although it was a tad small, and the service. I do not think the hotel should charge for parking and I also think that the pool hours were very rigid and inflexible (the hotel was practically empty on a Monday and they still kicked us out of the pool at 2 pm).
