"Great location for an airport hotel"
The most significant attribute of this airport hotel is the location. It is attached to terminal 1. Just go downstairs at the terminal (the level below the baggage claim level) and follow the signs to the Sheraton front door. No need to go outside or take a shuttle. As if this wasn't convenient enough, the car rental offices and car pick-up/return garages are right outside the Sheraton entrance. No need to take a shuttle to pick up your rental car - just walk into the attached parking garage. Furthermore, the train station for the train to Milan is across the lobby from the Sheraton entrance as well. We stayed at the Sheraton for two nights after a long flight from the U.S. and took the train into Milan (about a half hour trip) to do some sightseeing after the first night. The room itself was adequate and I was happy to find it to be very quiet, even though the hotel is right at the airport. Our flight got in around midnight, which was after the restaurant was closed. But there is 24 hour room service (with a limited menu after midnight) and I was able to order a nice lasagna dinner. Check-in/check-out was smooth and service in general was very good. I was impressed by one hotel staff person who I ran into while I was searching for an ice machine. The hotel is huge and it is not obvious where one gets ice. She volunteered to get ice for me and returned a full bucket of ice to my room in a few minutes. I found that this was the perfect airport hotel after a long flight from the U.S.
"Excellent location and nice hotel unless you are short"
I am just over 5 feet tall. Fortunately my husband was with me or I would have been unable to take a shower. The bathtub had such high sides that it was difficult for me to get out of the tub/shower, even with his help. If I'd been by myself I think I would have had to pull the emergency cord. And the bath towels were on a shelf so high I never could have reached them. To top it off, there was only one bar of soap (and no other soap-like items) to be shared between the sink and shower. Of course, being short, I couldn't reach the soap after my husband had used it in the shower. If you're tall enough to bathe, then it's a great location - less than a 5 minute walk to airport check-in. And I found the bed and bedding exceptionally comfortable. If I were to return I would need a handicap accessible room and you might, too, if you're short.
"Only because it is connected to the terminal "
We have travelled a lot on three continents and a bunch of islands. We have stayed at campgrounds and 5 star hotels. The ONLY reason to stay here is because it is connected to the airport terminal. We thought it would be easier to drop off the car at the airport and stay here for our last night before a morning flight back to NYC. Wrong. Nothing about the stay here was easy other than check-in. Service at the bar....I would say non-existent except that it would understate the rudeness. Room service' Absolutely the worst ever. When the food and beverage manager offered to make up for it by providing dinner in the restaurant, I skeptically gave in to my other half's suggestion that we give them a second chance. After a mediocre meal, we were then asked to join the F&B manager for an after drink at the bar. In the midst of that, he produced a portion of our awful room service meal to lecture us on why in fact it was great. All goodwill lost! The room itself was fine. Good bed. Clean. What you should expect for the price and from a Sheraton. Check out my reviews; I don't generally write the bad ones, not that it doesn't happen. But this experience was so bad, I have to warm others. It was so bad, I actually called Sheraton's call center while we were there to double check that it was actually a Sheraton and not some translation error. You get the message.
"Customer Service Very Poor in the bar lounge"
We went to have lunch in the bar, took 20mins for someone to give us attention. We wanted to order but was told you cannot order without a table. We waited for one table to be free but they gave it to someone else who came after us. They kept passing by us like we were invisible. When we were finally given a table, waited another 15mins for someone to come to take our order but no one came that we decided to just leave. I had to stand up approach a waiter to get their attention. The Manager Valentina is very snobbish and has very poor customer service personality I am not even sure why she is in this industry where she has to face people everyday. Also, the pillows in the room were so thin that u need 3 pillows for your head not to suffer stiff neck.
"Convenient hotel within walking distance of the terminals"
Nice, clean hotel with roomy accommodations. The hotel is huge, but can be a little difficult to find as signage in the airport is not that great. You can access the hotel from the lower level. The hotel gym is nice and well equipped and the rooms are comfortable and modern. The onsite restaurant was just OK. The location is great if you are flying in and out of Milan, but it is about an hours drive from the city so may not be a great location if you are wanting to spend much time in the city center.
