"Bad start that faded to polite indifference "
Arrived at 3:30 pm to check in, reception had assured us that our rooms would be ready by 3:00pm. (Which was the allocated check-in time) then we were told that our rooms were not ready that the people before had extended their stay. This was after we had paid for two suits a week before and had requested confirmation of our booking a least twice. Once settled had to call reception twice, then a trip down to reception to get tv movie channel working. Requested ice bucket, never arrived. Mentioned frustration to total stranger in lift and he exclaimed they had to wait for their rooms as well for a hour. We have stayed before in this well positioned and very nice building, however regardless of our attempts to explain our problems we only recieved platitudes and pationising smiles. Never again.
"Good location Poor Management"
Now that Marriott has added Starwood top their inventory we decided to try this property instead of the Marriott Circular Key. Good location and comfortable accomodation. SPG longe had good selections but was overcrowded most of the normal meal/drink times. House cleaning staff manged to throw out (dispose) my wifes hearing aid. Hotel management denied all responsibility as well Sheraton SPG back in America dismissed any of our emails and requests to discuss the situation.
The Sheraton has only a few accessible rooms but they are definitely inaccessible for anyone in a wheelchair. The room is very small and you can only access one side of the room. The shower is not useable for an amputee who needs rails and a seat. In addition for a 65 year old woman it is very difficult to understand a woman with english as a second language on the telephone The availability of "accessible " rooms at this s 5 star hotel is appalling! My recommendation is to go to the Soffitell Wentworth which has larger rooms, better showers and just as importantly more helpful staff. Give the Sheraton a home huge miss if you need a wheelchair
"Poor start but happy ending "
We arrived late at night and moved rooms 4 times!! Due to hygiene and noise issues. It was our anniversary so we were quite disappointed but I will say the staff were extremely lovely and more than willing to appease our concerns. We received free champagne and were offered free breakfast and drinks. The room we finished up with was very nice and by the time we left we were happy with our stay. Special mention to Billy Tang who was a legend.
"Not a great return visit"
Couldn't open the blind due to office workers in next block that could look straight in due to being so close. We did ask reception for a better room this time !! No coffee at all so it was not refilled after last guests !! and no saucers to put our mugs on. Bed was uncomfortable and the satin cover on quilt spent more time on the floor than on the bed. Very annoying. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and chose this again due to position but in future will be looking for another hotel for our weekend getaways. I think it needs to be refurbished as it is getting old and nothing has changed over the past 10 years.
