Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel is one mile to Arlington National Cemetery. Many attractions including the White House, Lincoln Memorial and the National Museum of Natural History are within a 10-minute drive of the hotel.
We enjoyed staying at the Sheraton. The staff was very friendly particularly the shuttle drivers. The only complaint is the breakfast was not very good. The waitress was good but the quality of the food was poor.Comment of V. Charlotte , United States the 2016-07-21
"Good and bad"
Do not stay in the East Tower. The East Tower is not located in the main building and the room was a bit small and outdated. The hallways were dingy and narrow. After spending a night in the East Tower I requested a room in the main building. The girl at the front desk was very understanding and accommodating. (I think her name was Kiki). The room I received was more spacious and I had a very nice view. The only complaint I had was the bed. It would be nice if the beds were a queen instead of a full. The breakfast buffet was also disappointing. I would expect more options and better quality of food for 18 dollars a person.
Spent one night ready for business the next morning. Service was great although they mixed up my reservation but the service desk staff went out of his way to make sure my reservation was found. I loved the hotel. Will go back again.
Stayed here while visiting our son at college in Arlington. Convenient location to everything! Beautiful hotel. Room was clean.nice having a lounge for food and beverages. Staff was super friendly. Definitely would stay here again.
"The staff was very nice, but I was underwhelmed."
So I arrived late on a Sat evening to check in. I pulled into the on site garage after doing the check-in at the lobby-which went very smoothly. Being late to check in i wasn't expecting a great spot, but I had to drive down to the third sublevel in order to park. That's fine, I will say though that the lighting in the garage was surprisingly dim. It doesn't seem open to the outside and it didn't feel unsafe, but I'm not someone who typically worries about that. I wouldn't want my daughter parking there that late though. Parking overnight is also $30.00 Finding the room then proved a little challenging. Turns out there is a section of the hotel across the entryway/driveway to the hotel. I had a room in the 2100's and mistakenly went to the main elevator bank which has neither a 2nd or 21st floor. I went back into the lobby-no other elevator bank except the garage. The desk was busy with new check-ins and saw across he driveway in the other lobby a sign that looked like room numbers. The lobby over there is a little unusual in that it just opens up to up and down stairs- plus a wheel chair lift to the right. The little signage there wasn't too helpful so i went up the stairs and wound up on the 3100 level. I hit the elevator and the floors didn't seem to correspond to room numbers so i just gave up and walked downstairs to the 2100's. On the plus side-it seems totally deserted-no audible other room noise at all in the halls or all night. All the said, the room was neat and clean. The bed and linens were nice-but the mattress made that weird spring/coil noise that i haven't heard in a long time to be honest. Bathroom was also clean and the shower had a nice strong flow/good temp range. Weird thing I've seen more than once now- how many people break toilet tank lids' and why can't hotels find the same shape lid to replace it' It's just odd to see a tank top that obviously doesn't match the shape of the original- to the point that you can look down into the tank. The a/c-heat worked fine. The tv was fine/large except it had a thin horizontal line about 3/4 of the way up on every channel. The little sundry/gift shop in the lobby closed at 11pm-that seemed early- and they didn't appear to offer room service -no menus and nothing on the tv service list- that seemed odd. I got a good rate on a last minute app -though tack on 30 bucks if you're comparing for parking. The staff was very nice and professional when i checked in and out. If i'm back in the area I might stay there again and plan things a little differently.
"Business Trip to DC"
Reception staff were fine, not especially friendly but OK. Room was OK and nice size, bed conformable. Overall hotel could do with some modernisation and brightening up. Pool was a bit dingy. NO free WiFi in bedroom!!!!! Can you believe that a hotel like this in the capital of the world's largest economy, doesn't offer free WiFi - disgraceful. Shuttle to Metro was very useful. Stayed for three night but only had breakfast once, or more accurately tried to have breakfast. The cereal was fine and the waitress brought me to fried eggs to accompany the buffet which was inedible. The potatoes were cold, not lukewarm or tepid, but cold. The bacon barely reached lukewarm and the sausages were somewhere between cold and lukewarm. I couldn't eat the food. I walked out, warning people queuing not to have the buffet. I told reception that I wasn't paying for the breakfast: they also refunded the WiFi charge for the one night I was forced to use it.
