"Family Friendly Hotel"
Such a nice hotel!! All the facilities are faced to the ocean. Many pools to enjoy. Really good food and many restaurants inside the hotel. Is a kids friendly hotel for sure, they also have a pool and a playground for kids. It has the beach just in front and all the rooms have view to it. The cleanliness of the room was poor. They didn't clean as they should and we also had to ask for toilet paper, clean towels and clean coffee cups since they haven't done it as they should've. The breakfast buffet was good and they had the best detox juice I've ever tried; plus the restaurant was facing the ocean. Additionally, the fine dining restaurant L'Etoile which is on the last floor of the hotel is such a wonderful experience that I enjoyed very much. In general, it was a nice stay.
Really nice hotel, it depends which way you want to look at this hotel. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the direct main centre, bad from a perspective if you want to be in the middle of it all but good for peace and quiet. For me it was great, good quality hotel with large rooms and great views
"Almost perfect but location is an issue"
The room is excellent , the hotel facilities including pool and prívate beach are similar to those top quality caribbean resorts. The only issue is that you are away from le blon beach and the activity around. During the day is a short walk, but at night I think is risky for Security reasons. However in a taxi or Uber for around 10 reales you are there , for that reason it ended to be a Main issue for us, but for some people can be
"Great Hotel! I'm definitely coming back"
Wow! American style just 11 minutes walk from Leblon. Incredible pools, 4 restaurants, 3 bars and an insane (almost private) beach makes this hotel number one option for a nice relaxing vacations. You can choose between the classic hotel bar or signature Javier de las Muelas Dri Martini Bar. French, Italian, Brazilian and Pizza restaurants. You can play tennis, basketball or go to a full size gym on the fourth floor (lobby is on 6th). The hotel also offers a spa service. The club lunge is a little bit crowded but that is not a problem if you're lucky enough to meet Agnaldo. He will prepare the most wonderful local cocktails for you while you enjoy a bite. Rooms are great but remember not to leave windows open during the day. Rio is a very humid city and your clothes, laptop or any papers are going to get wet (really wet). Breakfast are very good and they prepare the most awesome Eggs Benedict. Overall is a great hotel but I personally think is the stuff which makes the real difference: Mario and Denise on duty during breakfast will make your day a better one from the start. On reception ask for Isabella, Agnaldo or Edvando at the club lounge and Javier at Benne who was very nice with us. We were lucky enough to meet two (almost permanent) Argentinian guests on the hotel: Ines and Samuel Paszucki. They are an institution within the hotel itself. They will give you tips about the city, tours to take, advices, small tricks to make your stay perfect or even take you for a walk trough one of the local communities of parks. Be careful, they are in a really good shape and walk for miles and miles without a single drop of water. During check-out, don't forget to always check your statement before paying. We got a few wrong items on ours and an insane number of negative and positive charges summing zero.
"Service, Luxury -- Not Quite"
Having taken a red-eye flight from the US, we checked in in the morning because we were leaving the next day at 4:30 am. Our room was available, but they charged us for 2 days because official check-in time is 3 pm. Rooms have been refurbished, probably for the 2016 Olympics, but the details don't quite work: tiny closet, crooked outlet plates with "110V" stickers on them, ethernet cable lying on the desk, faucets drip, tub drain broken, etc. The Senseo coffee maker takes an 8-gm pod, but they give you a 20-gm pod that's too big.
