Stayed there in late April for a work trip. Staff could not have been nicer and more willing to help! The location was great and a short walk to many of the destinations in district 1. I will stay there again.
Stayed in the hotel on 21th April with my family. wife and 2 daughter. 20minutes cab ride from the airport. Hotel was clean and neat and was provided with a baby cot for free, staffs was friendly and pleasant. All of them can speak English even if it's barely but still understandable. Breakfast was good but only if you are not a muslim. Most of the foods there contain ham and pork, not a big deal for me as I eat light in the morning. The one thing that angers me is - I was directed to sit in a 2 seated table alone (my wife and kids are sleeping) to have breakfast by one of the girl staff, halfway through my breakfast, I decided to grab a cup of juice from the counter. Came back and saw a man sitting on my table because their friends was seating on the table next to mine. When the girl saw it, she directed the person to sit in another location. And when I was still eating, another stranger came and sit down infront of me!! What is going on here. That is the only time I can get some time alone with my kids still sleeping. This is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. You need to control guest or probably your own staffs. Other than that, the staff was very attentive in clearing dishes and the food was ok. I ate bread, cereals and fruits.
We stayed at this wonderful hotel in April for 5 nights Location. around 20-30 mins from the airport, as soon as you arrive at the hotel u know you are going to be staying in a wonderful property. The Sheraton is in a great location, plenty of bars, restaurants coffee shops within yards of the hotel. Catherdal,Bix Tower, post office war museum Opera house, Market, Independent palace, Saigon River, Water puppet show all within walking distance to the hotel , no need to get a taxi unless you cant cope with the local heat. 3 shopping centres within 5 minutes’ walk with great food courts should you chose to eat there.. prices very good comparable to thailand which we know is well priced for food/drink. Zoo/B gardens a long walk 20-30 min, there is a free shuttle bus which takes you there ( not operated by the hotel but on the near by road , a green bus ) or can take a cab which was around 35,000 which is nothing. Hotel Amazing lobby gym and swimming pool the usual facilitates in a major chained hotel The hotel is split for rooms, you have the main building and then the Tower which has separate lifts, breakfast area and check in. Staff very friendly and helpful , hotel very clean and tidy and feel very safe, they look after their guests. free Wi-Fi through the property.. we had free Wi-Fi in room also, this may be due to us being SPG members or the room type.. speed very good indeed can use multi devices. Room Stayed in the Tower Section in a Suite 24 floor, the room was excellent, 2 bathrooms, living room, bedroom, bathroom... very nice indeed, each room had a TV including the main bathroom. large walk in shower and also separate deep bath 4 bottles of free water each day living room had Bose surround sound speakers with DVD player... work desk mini bar... tons of space. The room was cleaned daily and was faultless.... amazing views of the city and the Saigon river...very well present room. we had club benefits these were outstanding and defo a must.. You have the choice of breakfast in the main building on the 1st floor or you can eat in the Exec lounge in the tower section level 5, The breakfast in Level 5 is very nice however you are best to eat in the main building for breakfast as the choices are out of this world... they even have a heater to warm your croissants which is very rare .. steak and ice cream !!!!! the choices was very impressive... western local and Asian it was outstanding.. the best choices by far we have ever had. things were changed daily which is great when staying a long time... best breakfast selection in any Starwood properties we have stayed in.... Lounge in level 5 tower section is open to around 11 at night.. serving drinks / snacks throughout the day however at 17.00- 20.00 is when they serve the hot food, they have a menu which is changed daily offering fresh prepared hot dishes,, for example sea bass, steak, lamb chops Asian food... its very impressive... if you had this package you would never have to eat out in the evenings there is so much food which is all free... there are canapes vast selection of drinks... buffet food also.. you won’t be disappointed. This is the hotel to stay in HCMC, the only reason why I gave the hotel 4 stars is the fact that at check in I was advised I would receive SPG points for my stay however as I booked through a third party agent i wasn't entitled to the points ( fair enough ), I did inform the hotel that i was told I would receive the points however they wouldn't budge on this which was a shame, If this did not happen this hotel is 5 * plus….. Do not be put off on the negative reviews on this hotel.. this hotel is amazing one of the best hotels we have stayed at.. you must stay here when visiting this amazing city
"Fantastic Hotel and great location"
I stayed on the tower floors which included breakfast, evening cocktails etc. Fantastic room and fantastic service all around! The concierge was very knowledgable about local dining and markets to visit.
"Typical modern big city hotel"
Pool area was not very nice (i.e. atrium style) Okay if you just want to exercise/swim but not a place to hang out and relax. Rooms were typical of a western hotel - could have been anywhere in the world. But, the buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner, is excellent.
