"Magnificence in service"
What a great hotel! Every part of their service area was professional, friendly, courteous and oh so helpful. Thank you, Sheraton WTC SP for making our stay so comfortable and welcome. This was one of very few times where I did not miss my bed and pillows at home. Rooms were made up promptly and without any reason for complaint. Beds and room are clean and tidy, nobody touched my electronic stuff that I left charging in the room. I rarely never leave anything personal out but here, I felt I was amongst very good, honest people. From the start, when we checked in, reception was gracious, professional and forthcoming with any information we requested. There are taxis outside as well as hotel shuttle service to 2 different shopping malls - one is Morumbi, I don't know the other since I did not go there. Morumbi is opposite central Marketplace so you can go shop there as well. I found Morumbi similar to Australian Westfield shopping centres and a tad higher priced for their goods. When you book the Sheraton WTC at Sao Paulo, I suggest you pay that little extra for their breakfast because I can tell you, they fed us heaps with their buffet. Serving staff, again, were friendly, courteous and quick to come to your side even before you lift your hand to beckon them. The only problem we had was we knew 0 Portuguese. It was wonderful to find front office staff could speak fluently, but the smiles and friendliness of the other staff more than made of for our inability to communicate. All restaurants attached to the hotel serve yummy food. No time to eat but so tired after a whole day out' Well, just drop by at the restaurant on your way in and order your food and it will be delivered to your room. Still hot and delicious! Beautiful hallways, the WTC convention center is attached via hallways, corridors and lifts so if you are staying at the Sheraton to attend a conference or competition, dont worry about having to go out. There are multiple ways through to the WTC. Past the lobby and then around and down the escalator from the hotel restaurant is a rather large food court. Browse at leisure and try the various cuisines available, even McDonald's is there. I love Brazilian coffee - so thick, rich and aromatic. Several cafes at the food court and the hotel restaurant offer great coffee. Just take time to rest and have a cuppa. Oh there is this great water feature - glassed ceiling with water running down it and you hear the soothing sound of water as you walk across from the Sheraton, past the shopping arcade and across to the WTC. The WTC has a shuttle service to the airport which runs every two hours on the even hour. Check with Sheraton reception and they will have info to provide. What a fantastic stay. I am sad to leave SP without further exploring it. Only because Sheraton WTC SP made such a difference in our stay.
"SPG at Sheraton Sao Paulo Very Disappointed"
a. The hotel does not offer a thorough hygienic atmosphere; Cleaning properly is not a priority here. b. As SPG members we were not given a welcome letter to inform us about the hotel benefits, lounge nor the restaurants and opening times. We called to enquire but no one picked up the phone, finally we went to ground floor asking reception. c. Do not believe what they claim that they have a lounge. There is a lounge but there offerings are indeed very, very poor to the extent of an insult to their high status paying members. Not 6pm, 6:30 or 7 pm. Only at 7.30pm did the hotel offer few nuts in a cup for their high level guests, cheese and dry meat plate. That was it. And we had access to both the executive lounge on the 4th floor and the regular lounge on the 15th floor. It did not matter. This is not acceptable lounge food. We ended up in the mall at the basement where there are few restaurants that is average but much better quality than the hotel. d. We tried the hotel restaurant at the ground floor and sadly the food was terrible. e. It coincide that was my son's birthday although hotel was aware of it they would not do any little gesture to their guest. Sad. Numerous issues which left us very unhappy and extremely disappointed by this hotel management and the numerous flaws throughout. The General Manager of Sheraton WTC SP should know that staying in a hotel is supposed to be about service and great hospitality and accommodating the guest to provide for a comfortable and pleasant stay. If they can't even clean the room properly. Sorry but this Sheraton WTC was not in anyway close to what is hospitality is all about! Very disappointing and frustrating! Why bother and be loyal to a brand when the hotel brands are not valuing us for our loyalty to Starwood. We will choose another brand, Never again at Sheraton WTC SP!
"A dissappointing disaster at Sheraton WTC Sao Paulo"
It was extremely poor experience we had at the Sheraton Sao Paulo. We sought our reservation through our Starwood Ambassador. That coincided around my birthday. The ambassador noticed it and mentioned it to the hotel before our arrival and informed us. 1. The hotel would not offer the basic daily cleaning of carpet in the room. And despite our asking the guest relations manager, the housekeeping did not once vacuum clean the carpet in our room during the entire stay. (Despite our request it went for 4 days without cleaning. ) 2. When opening the curtain, the rail from the ceiling feel on the head of (Mr) and was painful for sometime with a bump. We did report it to the hotel and guest relations manager. No actions were taken other than the engineer needing to come in with ladder and tools taking up time to repair it. 3. Upon arrival this time at check-in, we were not informed of restaurant location change, and the shorter time change for breakfast. We did not receive a welcome letter for Platinum guests. The first morning (Mr) went first to breakfast at the lobby floor as before and it was empty. A bit shocking having not been informed by the executive lounge check-in. Also the breakfast time was shorter than before. When inquired, they had an explanation for it, but no explanation as to why we were not informed at the arrival. 4. The whole idea of a nice birthday gesture from the hotel while travelling turned very sour. We received a welcome piece of cake as the welcome gift. However the staff wanted to double up and make it to be the Platinum arrival and the birthday gift. We brought this to the attention of the GM and he responded with a huge defense, demeaning and insulting. This type of attitude from management really turns us off travelling to hotels during our special times. The GM thought or was told by his staff that we received some Brasilian truffles. He could not believe what we said, so we sent him photos showing what we received. Photos of a teaspoon of jam in a chinese spoon, and a teaspoon of chocolate syrup in a chinese spoon for her birthday, wow. Of course it was not the same as his staff informed them but once again he defended them. That was sad, insulting and quite disappointing for us. 5. The hotel claimed to have a lounge but the serving is very poor. There are few drinks. At 7.30pm the hotel offers a plate of cold meat and cold cheese. Really do not expect lounge bite foods or any Brasilian specialities. The server counts the water bottles and look at every table who drank the water, very poor service. 6. For leaving we asked executive concierge Carina to reserve a car with Guarucoop car to airport. The next evening there was no Guarucoop taxi. The hotel or Carina decided to reserve us the hotel car which the driver wanted more than double the price. Although we had not booked this, there was no other taxi and we were forced to take to the airport. The driver EDISON VITALINO had to be bargained down to take the same fare as Guarucoop. However, all this time wasted out in front of the hotel with complications. What a poor image that sends to us about a Sheraton hotel and in Sao Paulo.
"Good Hotel with access to Design Center Mall"
My stay here was comfortable and I enjoyed it. Had room service and breakfast at the hotel and both were tasty and with good options to choose from. The hotel is a good option with more accessible rates than others in the area. Is maintained well but you can see is not new (easy to see in furniture). Hotel cleaning was well executed. The hotel has immediate access to a Design Center Mall. That has a good list of option of stores and a food court in the bottom floor. If I visit São Pablo again, I would stay here again.
"Nice Hotel but outdated."
The hotel is well located and the room is very large. The hotel however is outdated. The services were great. The staff is very friendly and willing to assit. The breakfast was also very nice with a good variety of fruits and breads.
