"Good location "
The location is pretty good, right there in the middle of Pinheiros. And the price is prettt reasonable -- it was half as much as the Grand Hyatt that is a couple of blocks away. But the rooms are pretty dated and it is in dire need of an renovation -- my room had a door that stuck closed all the time and I had to call the guy to work a trick to get it open. Bathrooms and showers have a 70's vibe to them (my shower, for example, had an handle with supposedly the water temperature in Celsius degrees so you could adjust it. But the knob was so worn you couldn't make out the numbers). The gym is also laughably small and inadequate , and there is supposed to be a sauna or steam room but it's broken down. So it's a good choice if you're in town for business and are just going to pretty much use it for sleep.
Very very professional hotel as usual Sheraton. Clean and up to the standard five stars hotel. The restaurant have good food but the waiters lack professionalism. The reception was professional and the service is good.
"Good Location and service"
I stayed this hotel during weekend and upgraded to better room. The hotel is good location and the staff is very kind. But in the night it may be little noisy especially in Friday night. The hotel is connected to shopping mall.
"Excellent Stay and Service"
Hotel in the business district. Rooms well maintained and with good views. Excellent pool and area to sunbathe. Plus bar service for drinks etc.. Great staff. Super friendly and very efficient. Decent value for money as well. Definitely recommend.
"The worst ever hotel experience in my life"
Yes, so far this has been the worst ever hotel experience I had in my life! If I could I would even give this hotel a zero rating. In short there are three things that I really think have been horrible: 1. The hotel is completely claustrophobic and you don't have any opportunity to open any window anywhere. Moreover, they spray-up rooms with some chemicals that made me sick and I left the hotel with fever due to A/C and breathing problems (allergy to the chemicals') in spite of asking for a non-smoking room during check-in. 2. The hotel is old (and partially refurbished) but it maintained old carpet floors and curtains which look like not washed for ages (i.e. the color is not white but rather dark grey)! The furniture is cranky and really old. 3. One of my two twin beds had dirty (and unchanged) bed linen, which was clearly disgusting. But let's get more in the detail in my experience. I reached the hotel on a Sunday morning at about 9 am after a long-haul flight and during check-in I explicitly asked for a non-smoking room explaining the receptionist about my allergy to nicotine. She replied that the entire hotel was non-smoking and she assigned me a room at the 8th floor. Soon after reaching my room I realized that there was the usual strange smell that distinguish smoking rooms that have been sprayed-up with a freshener. In this occasion I also discovered that one of the two twin beds has not been properly cleaned as the bed linen had been used by someone else before me and the bed just softly made up without changing them! I was furious - this is truly disgusting and unacceptable - but since there was another clean bed I unfortunately didn't take the step to re-pack my stuff and go downstairs to ask for another room, postponing this action to after my sleep. In fact, I was very tired and I decided to go to sleep and take a rest first. In the afternoon I went back downstairs and explained my concerns but unsuccessfully. The reply was that the hotel was full and I had to stay there. So, I did. The next day I put the "white" tag they provide you with on the dirty bed in order to explicitly ask for a change of bed-linen (this was the action to do according to the tag). Then I left the room but on my return in the afternoon I discovered that none of the bed linen had been changed. So, I had to call the reception and ask for someone coming straight to my room and change them! In the meanwhile, I discovered that the two windows didn't have any handles and were virtually sealed - without any possibility to open them and change the air. So, in practice I was stuck with that horrible chemical smell in the room that after a 20-30 min without A/C became unsupportable and made me cough. The result was in having A/C open all night long for 6 days in a row, without the possibility to breath any "fresh air" from outside! This has been the worst nightmare ever. Also, I discovered a few other ugly details: - the carpets hadn't been refurbished with the hotel and they were very smelly and not clean at all. - the curtains were really dirty! The front curtains were colored and the dirty was less visible, but the semi-transparent ones were actually dark grey and not white at all! - in the bathroom I found that the trash bin had been strangely positioned attached to the WC. When I tried to remove it, I discovered that below there was a drainage point for water (pretty dirty and old). I asked the cleaning lady and she advised me to keep it in that position so to avoid beetles and other insects to come out!!! - Finally, furniture was clearly old and not at the level of a 4 stars hotel that this Sheraton claims to be. In regards to service, I think the hotel has a lot of ground to learn from other chains and the level of service provided is very very basic. Quality and variety of food for breakfast is limited. Fitness room and swimming pool are both very simple and basic - I would say essential - and not impressive at all. In addition the hotel, stands in an area where there is NOTHING to reach on a 5-10 mins walk. For example, if you need a bottle of water, either you pay 15 R$ (that is today around 4 euros) per 25 cc bottle of Evian in the minibar or you die. In particular, the hotel refused to provide me with extra free water other than the one 33 cc bottle per day they give you sporadically after making up the room. Theoretically, there is one shopping mall attached to the hotel but I discovered it predominantly sells housewares and other furniture only, rather than food/clothes! So, all in all, this has been my bad experience but the cherry on the cake has been during check out, when asked about my stay and I complained and explained about the chemical smell, the receptionist candidly admitted that that smell was not a freshener but rather DDT to kill insects such as mosquitoes!!! So, I breathed DDT for 6 days in a row without any chance to open a window. And this pretty much explains why I left Brasil with fever, landed back home after 11 hours flight with 40C and stayed with cough and bronchitis for the following 10 days! Thank you Sheraton WTC, I will not come back ever and I should file a lawsuit in court!
