"Disappointed with the room."
This trip was booked a while ago to visit my son. I always do a lot of hotel research and usually do well. We arrived early at the hotel along with lots of other people, it did appear the hotel were ready as everyone as given their keys. When we got to the desk we were told there were no double rooms left and all they had were two single beds, we said we would pay to upgrade but unfortunately the hotel was completely booked up. We were given our key and went to our room. It was on the first floor, with a single window in the far left hand side of the room, a view of the flat room out the window towards the river. The room was clean, the bathroom good and all the amenities were there but I have never stayed in a double room with a single window! I can honestly say the description and photos of their classic room was not this one. The beds were fine but the pillows were dreadful, they need upgrading. We had opted for breakfast which was good, lots off choice and really efficient staff. The location of the hotel is good, close to the station and great walking distance for everywhere. Good wi-if connection. My son lives in Sweden and we will be visiting again but unless I could be guaranteed a room that looks similar to the double/queen rooms which is how they advertise the classic rooms and not two small single beds I won't be back.
"Good location and good rooms"
Stayed here on business - good location and can walk from central station. Rooms are large and well equipped. Nice bar. Breakfast is good but costs more. A few more staff on check in could help. Good concierge who advised and found a good taxi
"A flawless stay"
Third visit at Sheraton Stockholm and the hotel delivered on all counts. We had a nice superior room with sea view. The beds are supercomfy and the queen sized beds offer plenty of space. Bathroom had a strange old sliding door that was difficult to open and close without some hussle. It didn't bother us that much but a strange item in a modern room. Breakfast is busy around 09 so avoid that time. But staff is very helpful and you will be seated so no uncomfortable hunt for a table. Overall staff is cheerful and will greet you when encountering them anywhere in the hotel. Good choice if visiting Stockholm.
"I recommend to avoid this one"
I've been here before, and I don't understand why I chose it again. It has poor location, poor rooms and especially poor service. It took 20 minutes to check in at gold & platinum SPG line. In lobby bar we waited 30 minutes for someone to get our order, nobody showed up. I'll never pick this hotel again.
"More to be asked frankly"
Had a 2 night stay with a delegation. No greeting upon arrival, 3 attendants but no attempt nor eye contact. Front desk was good and following procedure, I guess the delegation rate was showed by mistake or not. Elevator has to be operated by each individual by card, so if you are several pax with different floors it's inconvenient. Room is dated but fair & maintained. Great pillows and full selection on tv programs if off interest. As traffic surround the building its a bit noisy, as well from the corridor. Bar service is attentive and swift. I did not use the restaurant but other delegates told of a big effort by one waiter trying to serve 26 individual guests with the result of cold food and a poor experience warning us to go. Main issue I had was breakfast which I avoided the second day. Friendly arrival but no direction or instructions on to seating. When entering no efforts to clean the tables was made, I understand Murphy's law but as no team member had a try or was directed or made an effort to clear tables the first impression was chaotic . When seated one had to chase the juice and coffee service this more than once as no one seamed to have this duty. When sitting down, Part of cutlery was dirty. The team Seams to have internal issues as it was small gnabbing all the time which resulted in no attention to the guests. I felt that no clear direction of responsibility was instructed to the team in who should do what meaning complete inconsistency in table management guest service and buffet attendence. As the kitchen is a "open kitchen" it causes a big responsibility in regards to presentation cleanliness and guest attendance by the chefs. Cabinets doors was opened, items was stored on top of the shelfs and the general feel was dirty and low attendance to details. A friendly young chef tried to help when I requested Mustard which ended up with mustard majo! The chefs had chefs had but I find it a bit funny as one had long greasy hair almost to the shoulders not collected and proper this again added to the feel of low hygiene and a sense of foul tast. The presentation and focus on detail needs to chance, floor team needs a serious overhaul and proper directions. End of story, one would expect so much more by Sheraton Stockholm and the sense of pride in parts of the work force. Ps housekeeping greeted back on several occasions and did a good job.
