"Gym With A View"
Sheraton Vitoria is a neat hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast has a great selection of tropical fruits and varieties of bread. Tapioca and cheese is a local speciality so do give it a go. If you don't speak Portuguese, umm, then good luck with order. Apart from Jessica and the gang at reception, not many speak English. The best feature of this hotel is the gym on the top floor. Pool is more of a water feature. In any case for a better swimming experience, just cross the street and you will be met by super fine sandy beach with gentle crashing waves. Mall is 10 minute walk from Sheraton.
We stayed in 8 different hotels. The Sheraton Vitoria beat them all. WIFI was very good, breakfast very good, gym good, clean, great view. Staff friendly. Restaurant menu and staff very good. Saturday Feijoada worth every penny. Simply an excellent hotel.
I have stayed here a couple times for work, and it is a nice hotel. Great view if you are facing the ocean! The breakfast has a great spread, and they include omelets. Biggest con is the bar size- very tiny. Wifi works great, and staff is friendly!
"Excellent service, great view"
It's not for the weak of heart, but we loved the view in our room at the 20th floor. Large rooms, swift service in decent English and a generous breakfast buffet. I enjoyed the gym on the top floor where you can enjoy the view on the beach while working out in climatized conditions. The swimming pool is not large but it's a nice hidout to chill for an hour. And it has a bar!
"Why the security refundable fee of R$100 per day'"
The outside of the hotel, the lobby and restaurant are nice. The picture gives the wrong impression that the hotel is right on the beach, which is not: it is on a street across which there is a Macdonald's, various lanes, a kind of park and beyond that it is the beach. It is near the beach but it is not a beach front property. As for the rooms, I was expecting more. Although I have no complaints the room looked the same and perhaps even a bit smaller than the one I stayed in Rio at a 3 star hotel. The front desk staff was polite but not overly friendly. The gym is well equipped but the pool is more like a large bathtub. The view from the room was great, as I was on the 16th floor. I would classify the hotel as good, but nothing more, therefore the overall rating given of "average" as the next rate would have been "very good". The front desk people did not have maps to orient the guests and demanded the sum of R$100 per each day of stay to cover "incidentals". As I did not have any incidentals, I was reimbursed the R$500 since I had used cash. This is an annoying practice and shows complete distrust of guests. Why not wait until check-out and see if there were any incidental expenses and then charge for them as other hotels do'
