"A nice hotel which needs renovating"
Das Silken Al-Andalus Palace is situated about 15 minutes by bus from the city center of Sevilla. It is a large hotel with comfortable bedrooms that should be renovated soon as especially the carpets in the corridors are worn and the walls need fresh painting. The swimming pool is a nice place to rest after visiting the city and one can have a drink in the garden in the evening. Breakfast was very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a garage with a lift to the reception. The hotel is very near the stadium. It is easy to reach from the airport.
"Never again! "
Where to start, on check in all seemed OK, staff were fine room was a little cramped but not bad, called down for a safe code.....€3 a day, granted some hotels do charge no bother found a good hiding space for passports and money, went out and met friends who were in Seville for the same wedding we're attending, came back grabbed a drink in the bar, very overpriced there is a lovely bar 10 mins walk from the hotel which is lovely and you can get a bottle of wine for the same price as two small glasses here. Day two, rain in Seville, we woke up to water pouring through the windows all over the windowsill and floor, my iPhone was on the windowsill and was practically floating in water luckily it was turned off and I had my work phone so I swapped over the SIM cards, called reception no apology, someone came up and said he would move us to a new room, no apology regarding the phone still, so new room guess what....water everywhere again, so we get moved upstairs, granted a much bigger room so happy with this, on moving out stuff the porter drops my suit trousers in the floor and flings them back on a hanger this morning I get the suit out trousers really creased, no worries I'll grab an iron and give them a quick once over on a low heat setting (the trouser press in the room is filthy inside) €2 for an iron......the only reason I need it is because your bloody porter threw my trousers over the hanger. This hotel is big and grand but it's is poorly managed and the fact I still have had no apology regarding the phone is not good enough, trying to explain to reception and the manager is useless my Spanish is not good enough to get that point across and their English is not good enough to understand or give any kind of compensation so I email Expedia who we booked through, not even an apology from them! Expedia and this hotel will not be used again!
"Great Hotel & Staff & Close enough to Sevilla"
Beautiful Hotel with very comfortable large rooms. We had a room with a terrace with a nice view, it also had a small lounge area which was very comfortable. We were given access to the VIP bar which had tea and coffee and Spanish snacks all day and free newspapers & internet. The reception staff were lovely and we only waited around five minutes to be seen. The food was amazing & we had breakfast on both days with excellent coffee machines and the selection of food was wonderful. We also ate in the bar and the selection of food was very tasty. We got the local bus from round the corner of the Hotel into Sevilla which was very easy to use. I don't have a favourite member of staff because the were all amazing and made us feel very welcome. The pool was open as well as the pool bar and was great to use after walking round Sevilla for a day. We will be back!
"Much improved, congratulations!"
Last year I visited this hotel and was disappointed and gave a very poor review. My complaints were about the cleanliness of the hotel. I just returned and am happy to say my room and those of my friends, were updated, very clean, the beds were super comfortable and the staff was very helpful and polite.
"Not my choice"
Hotel is quit popular among tourists as is always swamped aroynd by buses loads with people. Location is far From downtown. Worst part no tea or coffee maker in room and costs wooping 6 euro per day if u want any and same with iron and iron board. No complimentary water too. Why such basic facilities are not included is beyond my understanding. Swimming pool is good fun. Breakfast is repeat and boring for long stays.
