"Lovely setting - felt the staff were overwhelmed"
We stayed for a few days after a trip to Barcelona. Hotel is on a beautiful cove and upgrading to a sea view was well worth it. Once the sea calmed down after a storm, it was a short walk to the beach and some lovely sun bathing. Word of warning... Don't get even close to the beach if the sea is rough (one change of clothes later after being on the steps about 15 ft up). Food was good in the restaurant, but perhaps a little over priced. The experience of dining was not great though as the poor staff were so so rushed there was no time for them to give you the full experience as they flew around the room. It felt too hectic and didn't make me want to eat again. Same experience at breakfast... They just need a few extra people (3 isn't enough for around 200 people). Otherwise good comms from reception around how to reach the hotel from the train station and saved money on expensive taxis vs a bus. Regarding travel, if you do decide to get the bus to Platja D'Aro, the Safra bus runs every hour from Girona and Is only 11 euros for 2 people vs a 70 euro taxi... Worth considering. If you come that way be warned as a taxi in Platya D'Aro from the bus station to the hotel (about a mile) will be more expensive than your 25 mile bus journey. Taxis are a bit of a rip off here! The hotel is just a bit too far to walk with cases so unfortunately taxis are a must. Recommend you pack ear plugs as the walls are quite thin in the hotel. Either that or we had exceptionally noisy neighbours...a hard of hearing French couple''' Staff all speak good English and French. Will recommend the hotel to friends and family. Thanks.
Spent three nights here at the end of September and it could not have been better. We were upgraded to a Suite upon arrival. The room was spacious and had an excellent view. The two coves right off of the hotel are fantastic for relaxing. There are no chairs on the beach, but there is a guy down there that rents them for 6 euros/chair. The bartender opened a personal bottle of wine that I wanted to drink on our balcony. The breakfast had plenty of options and the lunch was fairly good. The town of Platja d'Aro is a short 15 minute walk from the hotel. I would not hesitate to come back to Silken Park Hotel San Jorge in the future.
"Popular Hotel in a quiet location with excellent sea views."
October is a very good time to visit the Costa Brava, it's quiet and generally warm. There are many popular resorts close by including Roses, Palamos, San Feliu de Guixols etc. There is an outdoor pool and the hotel is excellent for golfers as there are a number of courses nearby. The breakfast is most comprehensive - buffet style - and very popular!
"Beautiful hotel with incredible views with very pleasant staff"
Good quality and fresh food for breakfast and nice location of the restaurant (above the sea). Great coffee and wine for breakfast. Also the sea is right in front of the hotel. View from the room balcony is amazing.
We spent 3 nights here at the beginning of September, the hotel is lovely and the views absolutely amazing. Hotel very clean and well presented. Room nice but bathroom a little squashed. We enjoyed tapas and a glass of wine sat looking out at the sea. Breakfast was great, a good selection and very high quality. Would definitely recommend.
