Hotel Silken Villa de Avilés is anchored in the park of the Meanas, just two minutes from the city’s cultural and historical areas of interest. Asturias Airport is 12 km from Avilés (12 minute drive), and through Central Station there are rail links with Galicia, Santander and the Basque Country.
"Restful and friendly"
The most pleasant hotel, lovely rooms, energy and in a good area. Beds are very comfortable, and one can sleep really well here as the hotel is quet. The food is delicious and there is no point or any need to explore other options, especially if you travel on your own. Thank you very much for the lovely stay. The staff is mellow and helpful. I hope to come back.
"Ho hum hotel"
Staff at front desk spoke English and were helpful. Our toom with two twin beds was small. Beds pushed together so just enough room on each side. Air cond not working properly so opened window but bit noisy on street til 1am. Location ok as it is not a large city so you can walk to most everything but is about 10km to the ocean and beaches. Breakfast 5euro if paid by night before but 7euro if you waited til morning to see what was offered. That is a bit odd in my world of travel. Paid for it anyway but just ok nothing special. Everything clean enough: rooms, beds, stairs, hallways. Just one of those mediocre hotels you'll have difficulty remembering much about some years down the well traveled road.
"Great value. Nicely located"
Was very easy to get to the hotel when driving to Aviles. Great facilities to unload bags and the parking is right below the hotel (15 Euro fee). The center of Aviles is very close and there are many places around for breakfast if you choose not to dine at the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful, courteous and did everything in their control to make my stay pleasurable. Price is very reasonable. Would definitely stay at this location if ever back in Aviles.
Hotel was in a good location. Close to las Meanas, cafes and shops. Room was on the smaller size compared to USA hotels but adequate. Bathroom was spacious with tub. Safe in room was useful. No mini bar in room. Aviles is usually not hot not even in summer; however, they had a heat wave while I was there and AC was not strong enough. Luckily, there aren't any mosquitos and I was able to keep the window open, and it cools down at night.
"Great base to explore"
I stayed in the Silken Hotel from January 12th to 16th 2016 on business. This hotel is located right next to the main train station in Villa de Aviles and has easy access from the main road. The hotel is new being completed in the last 5 years and as such has a clean fresh modern feel. On the ground floor there is a large reception area and to the right a Bistro type cafe/bar which remains open all day and further right the main restaurant which is open from 20.30 in the evening. The rooms in the hotel are clean, uncluttered and have a very modern feel, as in a lot of European hotels there is no tea or coffee facility, no iron and no free water but there are free beside chocolates and sweets. The hotel also boasts a nice pool and a good gym facility all very well looked after and very new in appearance. Staff are very helpful and efficient and the food provided both at breakfast and at night in the restaurant is great all of which leave a very positive overall impression of the Silken
