"Always consistent, perfect location, friendly staff, reasonable value"
Always consistent service and larger rooms than many of the other SLS properties, this gem continues to perform. Staff is always attentive from the front desk to the concierge staff to the bell staff and parking attendants. Located just minutes from mainstream Beverly Hills offices and stores, the SLS provides a chic and reasonably priced alternative to the competing hotels. Marriott/Starwood points are a bonus and Uber service is immediate due to the large parking staging area. All in all, a top choice when staying in the area. Only criticism: the breakfast buffet could be a little more diverse with more protein options, otherwise a total winner.
I took my son to stay at the SLS for his 18th birthday. I totally forgot upon booking I made a note that it was his birthday, but the staff remembered and I was very impressed. They left a personalized card in the room along with great cookies & candy which left a huge smile on his face! I loved the plush robe and slippers, that made it so easy to get comfortable and cozy. We had a great stay and look forward to our next visit.
"overly trendy but a very comfortable stay"
as others have mentioned, this place is on the dark side. but i don't get why this was such an issue for people. would i have configured the lights and outlets the same way in my own home, no, but i'm just staying for a few days here and it was not a problem. yes the layout of the hallways is a bit confusing and i wandered a bit, yes the lobby is dim. but who cares, it didn't deter me from having a nice time. get it together people. all the employees i encountered where extremely friendly and helpful. from check in to room service to concierge and anyone else i ran into. a hello and a smile. the room was spacious and comfortable, yes the layout was a bit funky, i don't need to roll back the "wall" exposing the bathroom, and the desk behind the bed was odd. a lot of form over function in this place but whatever. i had a terrace room so it was nice to enjoy some LA weather, the only downside was they play the music really loud on the rooftop with the pool. but it stops at 5pm. also the room service food is top notch, had the seared salmom with coucous, a lunch sandwich and breakfast, all where delicious. i would definitely return here. yes overly trendy but my stay was very enjoyable and relaxing.
"Special service at a cool hotel"
SLS is a very modern hotel. However, what sets this hotel apart is the exceptional customer care provided by everyone. A special mention needs to be given to Mr. Kyle Jackson; he provided a nice personal touch by introducing himself via a friendly email prior to our arrival. He was interested in helping out with any itinerary needs. During our stay he took the time to personally introduce himself and ensure that our needs were addressed and that he could be an ambassador for his native city.
"Cool atmosphere, friendly service"
This hotel in many ways epitomizes what you're looking for in LA, which is cool and trendy, yet with, at least what we Europeans consider, friendly American service. The entrance is sufficiently impressive and rooms are spacious (and heavy on the mirrors), yet my favorite part was the rooftop pool and pool area. Tons of bungalow-style semi-secluded booths and sunbeds, great view, but with an oasis feel to it. Will probably be back when visiting LA, recommended.
