"Hip Modern Hotel"
Great location near food and Trader Joes. Within 2 blocks of shopping. Parking was steep at $50 including taxes. Friendly fast valet service. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Good sleep the first 3 nights despite thin walls until the final 4th night when our neighbor checked in with a yappy dog that barked from 10pm-5am everytime someone walked down the corridor. Couldn't stand it by 3 am and called the night manager who apologized but asked us if we could like to move rooms. No, not at 3am. Perhaps the neighbor and yappy dog could like to relocate' Understand that a pet deposit was taken for pets...should be given to disturbed guests not as a clean up fee. Was given an apology by the Guest Manager upon check out and a $50 credit. The room was about $400/night. I think we should receive the pet deposit instead. Won't be back.
First of all i would like thank Jesenia Dedios for giving us such an amazing check in experience that gave us a great start to a five day stay. She was very accommodating and swift to get our suite ready and was the nicest person ever. Great choice in staff 5 stars. thank you
"Great hotel, if you don't care how much you are being charged "
I haves stayed in SLS before with good experience. I came back this time because my friend insisted that the service was always great. We stayed there 3 days - 2 nights this time. It was a nice experience....till the hotel got busy. Breakfast at the cafe was chaotic when they got busy. The complimentary house car could not cope with the loads of work and one needed to expect them to be late. The worst thing was that the accounts office / front desk was unable to get our bill right. As they had my credit card at check in, I got calls from my bank numerous times after I check OUT to inform me that I was being charged with different amounts of money. Not only that the hotel put an amount on hold when i checked in, they also charged my credit card for the bill, as well as an ADDITIONAL 300usd on the day we CHECKED OUT. I called the accounts office the same day to clarify the situation. Interestingly they said I should be charged an amount that was not the 3 amounts previously charged to the credit card. They assured me that this is the final and correct amount, only to find out that this was not 2 hours later, when we received an email about another "final statement". I tried calling the managers' office to enquire about the matter twice. Unfortunately no reply was given despite that they had my contact details. My advise to the ones who would still like to book this hotel: please paid cash and checked your account prior to check out.
"A cocoon in LA"
Caring people looked after us - from arrival through breakfast to departure. Feels right. Quirky details everywhere. Lighting levels for my taste a little low, but it goes with the Interior Design. Perfect location, quite rooms, good amenities. Besides, Bazar is just next door - another plus for SLS Beverly Hills.
I love the SLS. From the greeting at the front door to the front desk, to every corner of the hotel, the experience is first rate. Warm greetings and offers of help from everyone. Lively place. Good food. And when it's time to retire, a quiet room with a very comfortable bed. Every detail, perfect.
