Conveniently anchored in the city center in London’s West End on the corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place, just a quick stroll from Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the shops of Regent Street, Piccadilly and Oxford Street, as well as museums and theaters.
"A fantastic hotel"
We spent a weekend at this wonderful central London hotel. There is a very stylish and luxury atmosphere, the staff offer a top notch service and complete set of facilities. I have stayed at a number of Sofitel hotels across the world and have found them to be excellent and will always be my first choice.
"Business with family"
This is my second time to this hotel, the first time was before children and for romance with my amazing wife, this time was for work and luckily my wife and child travelled with me.. staff as per first visit were amazing, friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was first class and even dinner at the restaurant was excellent Best hotel in London I have stayed!!
"One of my new favorite hotels. Pricey, but worth every penny!"
Wow, what a fantastic hotel stay! Immediately upon greeting by the doorman we felt welcomed. Our luggage was grabbed the moment we hit the curb and we were escorted to the front desk, where we were warmly greeted by the staff and given a glass of delicious lychee something-or-other. It was fantastic. The front desk staff checked us in quickly and efficiently and our room was ready upon arrival around 1PM. The room was well appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable. The in room kettle had a fine selection of tea-republic branded teas (if I remember correctly) and they were delightful. The bathroom was beautiful, and the rain shower was absolutely heavenly. It was so big it felt like being wrapped in a warm blanket of water. The toiletries were great as well - much better than the stuff most hotels offer. The room had no view, but we didn't mind as we weren't in London to sit in our room all day. As it turns out, we realized we left our passports in the in-room safe half-way on our train trip to Wales. The hotel was wonderful. They had a security manager go to the room to retrieve them and hold them in a safe until we could return. I will say we got a fair price on the room using a discount booking site. We attempted to stay one extra night but the rack-rate was more than twice what we paid, and it was a little over our budget. However if budget was not a concern, we would have stayed another night in a heartbeat! Friendly service, comfortable bed, and the location, which was adjacent to trafalgar square, couldn't be beat. We LOVED the sofitel and hope to be back!
"AFTERNOON TEA IN THE ROSE ROOM"
Had a Champagne Afternoon tea in The Rose room and it was excellent. The Rose room itself is lovely. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. The food was absolutely excellent and it was plentiful, so much so that they boxed up what you couldn't eat so you can take it home. Would highly recommend this venue
"Lovely, top class establishment"
We really enjoyed our few days at the Sofitel St. James. First of all the location is fabulous, right off Trafalgar Square and Picadelly. Second of all the hotel itself is simply top class---ultra comfortable with extremely helpful staff always ready to lend a hand, an umbrella, or anything else we might need. The atmosphere was lovely but not stuffy. The gym is nice but very warm!! They might do something about lowering the temperature. And of course there was always a line for the treadmills. They might think of adding another! The rooms were very well-appointed and comfortable with nice Lanvin products. We also had a lovely drink in the bar one evening and the jibe was jovial and light. The waiters were terrific. All in all great stay.
