Conveniently anchored in the city center in London’s West End on the corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place, just a quick stroll from Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the shops of Regent Street, Piccadilly and Oxford Street, as well as museums and theaters.
"Great location, nice hotel, Accor reneged on best price guarantee promise "
We have stayed for three nights. This was a quiet period so rates were fairly low. We have initially been given a room which was noisy, there was a humming noise from ventilation coming from outside. We were then shown another room which had a restricted view to the St James park. The room was nice but there was a strange smell in the room which appeared after cleaning of the room. You could open the window to get rid of the smell. On last night they did cleaning without detergents and there was no smell in the room. There was a bit of nuisance with the best price guarantee. I have booked the hotel on the Accor site, subsequently I saw another offer 5pct cheaper on Booking.com, had multiple email exchange with Accor who refused to match the offer as there were slight difference in the terms of the rat, e.g. late checkout. I could not care less for late checkout as I had an early morning flight on the day of my departure but it was used as a reason to refuse best price guarantee. I feel shortchanged and next time I would search Internet before booking on Accor site. The breakfast is fairly cheep for London (25 pounds per person plus service charge) and is not the best quality. We had cocktails in the bar which we did not like. Having said all this, the location is great, the rooms are fairly nice. So if there is a good rate I will stay again. The concierge is very helpful.
Went to afternoon tea with family and friends. Insufficient seating so was sat on tables and chairs due to the size of the party. Sandwiches limited although the waitress did provide more sandwiches on requests. Some confusion on sharing the sandwiches and cakes. Cakes good standard. Would I go again - not sure. Prefer the Grosvenor at Park Lane.
"Outstanding customer service"
I was planning a trip for me and my son to London. I picked this place due to its location. All the sites we wanted to see where in walking distance and if it wasn't close the underground was conveniently located. As far as our stay, it was the most pleasant and top-notch service that I have received. Their customer service was above and beyond anything I've experienced. From the friendly staff at the front desk to the little treats they gave us in the morning and the turndown service you received at night with the complimentary chamomile tea. Also during our stay they found out that my birthday had previously happened before our trip. On the second night I walked into our room to find a beautiful desert and a handwritten card from them wishing me a happy belated birthday. It's touches like that, that truly set them apart from other hotels.
"A Very good option for a weekend in London."
Sofitel Saint James is a good hotel very well located in central London. Efficient and friendly staff. Only one minor remark, the breakfast room can be too crowded sometimes. A very good option for a weekend in London.
My newly wed son was visting us in the UK with his wife. Its the first time my daughter in law had been to London. I decided to book them in over the New Year celebrations into the Sofitel at St James They came back buzzing, they had a superb time and the hotel staff were great with them, made them feel at home So a massive thumbs up, all the Sofitels we have stayed at around the world have always been good, so I knew this one would not let me down perfect location for visiting London and central to everything
