I had a very positive experience with William, who is the doorman at the hotel. He not only retrieved a missing sweater that belonged to my aunt, but he kept it safe for us, and even neatly folded it. He was very pleasant on the phone as we coordinated picking it up. It's very easy for things to get lost in the shuffle at hotels, but William went above and beyond for us- and I am very grateful. Thank you very much William!
"terrific stay in mid town"
Location is very convenient to midtown and theater district. And a room on a high floor is quiet and away from it all (probably true for low floor too) with great climate control and expansive skyline views. And couldn't be more comfortable. The staff is attentive and accommodating.
The hotel is very well located. Between 5 and 6th Avenue, 10 blocs from Central Park or Empire state building or Penn Station... The entrance is modern and cosy. The rooms are quiet, clean and nice. This time I had to chance to get an upgrade and benefit from a room with a terrace, great view and experience. Around 30 floors, but a good elevator system: no time lost in waiting (contrarily to some other hotels in NYC). Welcome desk staff is nice and efficient. Overall a very good stay. I will probably come back for a future business trip..
"Perfect stay in NYC"
Great hotel. wonderful restaurant. Convenient location. Perfect for a long weekend in the city with easy access to Broadway and shopping. The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise after a long rainy day. Will certainly revisit the Sofitel!
"Nice Size Rooms in Manhattan"
Staying at Sofitel New York was a lovely experience. Traveling with our 12 year old son we wanted a room where we would not feel crowded. We selected a Luxury Suite at the Sofitel and we were not disappointed. The Luxury Suite features a living room with a queen sleeper sofa, along with a desk, and the mini bar; there is a separate bedroom room with a king bed and small sitting area; the bath features a soaking tub and separate shower. You simply don't find this much space in many Manhattan hotel suites. The Sofitel is located on W. 44th between 5th and 6th so it's a quick walk to 5th Avenue for shopping or head the opposite direction and in two long blocks you are in the middle of Times Square and the Theatre District. The staff at Sofitel was gracious and always greeted us with a smile. Housekeeping was prompt and we were impressed that our room was always clean when we returned from morning outings. The rooms are very quiet, of course you will still hear street noise it’s subtle compared to other NYC hotels. Overall our stay was lovely and we highly recommend the Sofitel for your next trip to NYC!
