Great hotel, perfect locationComment of A. David , United Kingdom the 2014-06-25
I stay at Sofitel Wroclaw very frequently. Love the hotel. The staff is super helpful and nice and there has been many times where they really helped me resolve little work issues. The location is super, at one end of the central square. So, highly reccomended for all it is!
"Very good choice."
Comfortable, friendly management and excellent service. It has all the facilities required to make a business trip pleasant and its location encourages your leisure activities. This is why I would recommend this great hotel.
Terrible check-in experience! I booked this stay through hotels.com and the front desk staff refused to accept my reservation. After 45 minutes or arguing (it was 10pm) she said she can do an exception and open up a room for me. She offered a bottle of beer as an excuse for the 1 hour wait she was the only one to cause. I received apologies the followig morning, but this is a ridiculous and unprofessional customer treatment. I know staff can have sometimes bad day and be frustrated, but this was way over line. I will never return back to this hotel!
Conveniently located very centrally adjacent to the Lutheran church of St Elizabeth (Bazylika mniejsza Świętej Elżbiety Węgierskiej) with its tall, dark and distinctive tower you'll always have a landmark to guide you to the hotel wherever you are in the city. Check in was swiftly and professionally conducted having actually checked in online, the formalities were managed without a fuss. 'Glass' elevators whisk you up to your floor via the spacious and light inner atrium of the hotel. The hotel accommodation is on one side of building which is shared with office space, inside rooms look out into the atrium. We had an (upgraded) outward facing top floor room with a partial view of the church and Kielbasnicza street. The spacious room was well appointed with Nespresso machine and some nice touches left as a welcome gift, along with a welcome drink. [NB Le Club Accor status holders benefit from a wider selection of welcome drinks in Poland than is offered in the UK]. All staff we encountered (reception, bar, housekeepers, bellboy) were friendly, helpful and professional and a credit to the brand. There was no noise from the street whatsoever, although the church bells were (pleasantly) heard on Sunday morning... not a problem at all. We didn't dine in the hotel but did take drinks in the bar, which was comfortable and quiet, before heading out in the evening. We had an enjoyable weekend break in Wroclaw in the snow, a beautiful city, and would have no hesitation in returning to/recommending the Sofitel to friends.
If you like to be close and within walking distance to the Old Town, this is the hotel. Very nice furnished, people are friendly and helpful. And although Sofitel is a luxury brand it's not that expensive.
