Great hotel, perfect locationComment of A. David , United Kingdom the 2014-06-25
"Great property, central location"
It's a great hotel to allow full enjoyment of Wroclaw. It's very well maintained and met our expectations of a Sofitel. Will definitely return. Fantastic breakfast as well. Did not try room service as its so close to many great places to eat. Fast service for things like ice buckets and extremely polite staff who all spoke English which was great for us. Great artwork as well take some time to enjoy it.
We enjoyed our two week stay at this hotel. The location was fantastic. The facilities very good. We had the buffet breakfast everyday which while a slightly expensive extra offered a good choice and was very convenient. Only problem we had was our door card kept malfunctioning but we coped. It should be noted the air conditioning only works while the windows are fully closed.
"Fabulous rooms, comfy beds, great food"
The hotel is huge in size and open space. Very modern architecture but very personal and professional service. It's very business orientated with free super-fast wifi, a business centre, and lots of spaces for meetings and chatting. Open-plan with lots of glass, but easy access to the brilliant restaurant and amenities. The rooms (king) were comfy with lots of plug points and well decorated. Again, the wifi here is insanely good. The more publicised chains could learn from the Sofitel's approach to communication. We came here to interview the Dalai Lama, we left feeling we wished we had stayed and explored the city for longer. Great staff, good hotel, good food, and lovely city.
Everything in this hotel is outstanding except for the front desk staff. Didn't understand the type of service that should be offered in a service position. Example: I was checking out and asked for a bottle of water and the response was "we don't have any". This may seam pretentious to some, but a good service representative would have figured this out...in a hotel...with a kitchen...refrigerators...and bottles of water...
"Wonderful hotel with Sofitel standards"
This is a five star all the way. I like to stay at Sofitels, and this one is definitely on par with the others. I spent three nights here. My room was upgraded because of the Accor Gold status. It was a large size and luxurious. The Sofitel bed is so comfortable that I was almost weeping with joy when I got into it after the extremely uncomfortable bed at the Steigenberger Potsdam the night before. The location of the Sofitel Wroclaw is wonderful, just one block from the famous and gorgeous square of Breslau. Breakfast was wonderful, and most of the receptionists excellent. For a hotel of this quality, the price that I paid at around $120 per night, including breakfast, is an amazing value. There is a large car park under the hotel, but the Sofitel sign does not stand out in front of the hotel, so it is easy to pass it right by. Your GPS will take you towards the square, but you need to make a right turn at the building and then left into the parking garage. Breslau is a gorgeous city, so give it at least two full days to visit. By the way, I do not understand some of the newer negative reviews, but I have noticed that several of them have only 1 review next to their names, so they are probably trying to blackmail the hotel. This hotel was wonderful, so it just does not make sense at all. TripAdvisor needs to crack down on this type of behavior.
