"Comfortable, clean and well situated"
We stayed at this hotel last week for 3 nights. We were impressed by the clean, comfortable room. We'd come from Moscow where it was very noisy so were delighted that here we could sleep with the window open if we wished. (We were on the 4th floor) Breakfast was busy but we always managed to find a table and there was a huge variety of food on offer. The log fire was welcoming. Best of all we liked the proximity of many restaurants and coffee shops. We were warned that it was expensive to eat in St Petersburg but found that wasn't the case at all, we chose places where the locals were eating and it was very cheap. Coffee and cake in a nice coffee shop will cost you about the same as the UK - in fact we often paid as much for that as our main meal. We felt very safe walking around the area in the evenings. The hotel offered free coffee in the lobby but we would have loved a kettle in our room, particularly when waking. If it wasn't for that we would have given 5/5.
We spent 5 nights at this hotel which is in a great location for walking around St Petersburg and the metro is also only a 3minute walk away. Lots of cafes and restaurants also in the vicinity. The hotel itself was very nice and also spotlessly clean (this was the case in all hotels we stayed in whilst in Russia). The most important aspect for us are the beds and pillows and in both cases they were exceptionally comfortable. (could have brought the bed home!!). Breakfasts too had a great selection of hot and cold. If I had a complaint it would be how hot the rooms were and the difficulty of getting the temp controls at the right level. However, that was a minor issue and we would highly recommend this hotel.
"Average property "
Had a stay for few days. Property is almost close to the market and supermarkets. Room air conditioner didn't work. Toilet does not have a hand faucet as should have as per international standards. Buffet breakfast had number of variety but couldn't find a better taste.
"Quiet and comfortable."
A very unassuming hotel in a good location for independent sightseeing. We had a double room which was, in fact 2 singles beds pushed together with separate duvets, but was very comfortable with a soft and hard pillow each. There was a fridge with 2 bottles of water which were replaced on an ad hoc basic but there were no tea making facilities. The bathroom had a full sized bath with over bath shower and the soap and shower gel were in dispensers. Strangely enough there were slippers provided! The room was a bit too hot for us but we opened the window. Breakfast was very good and although it was busy we found a table quite easily each day. There was a wide variety to choose from to suit all nationalities we had fruit juice, cereal, fresh fruit, scrambled egg on toast with bacon, croissant and pastries, tea and coffee (not all each day you understand!). We had an evening meal here on our first night and it was very similar to standards and prices in other places we ate apart from 'Market Place' in Moscowskya Prospect which was self service and about half the price and very good. There is a small supermarket close by which has all the basics. The blue metro line into the centre goes from near by, buy tokens for 35 rubels (40p) each and take 2 stops north into the centre or 3 to Ss Peter and Paul cathedral. It does get very busy but is very cheap and they seem to run every 2 or 3 minutes. You can download the maps for both St Petersburg and Moscow which has the station names in both Cyrillic and Roman alphabet which we found helpful, especially in Moscow where the Metro is much larger. Maps are available in the hotel foyer. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and would return here if we came back to St Petersburg.
"A block from the Metro.."
A busy hotel. Our room was not anything special - wooden floors, beds with mattress toppers on. The hotel was built in 2008 and feels tired. I was not impressed with the housekeeping - our bed was made, the towels changed but no evidence of cleaning - on 2 days the bins were not emptied. We were with a tour and although the standard rooms should have toiletries ours only had liquid soap, The standard rooms on the website say that they have kettles for tea and coffee - again, none of those allocated for our tour group had this facility. The buffet breakfast caters for many nationalities. The room gets very busy. We had teh buffet dinner one night - it was OK 1250 roubles. We ate a la carte the next night - big mistake. Service was sooooo slow, food was average. Suggest walking out the hotel, turn right, pass the kids playground, turn right at end of block. At the main road, cross and go to the Red Cat...
