My extended family (9 of us) are here getting ready for a Carnival cruise out of Miami. I'll start with the good. The buffet breakfast (included in price) is fantastic. Fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, juices, fruit, yogurt, granola, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The gal driving the (free) shuttle bus from the airport was truly the highlight! She was funny, had a great attitude, and gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant that we could walk to. The suite has a queen size (maybe a king') and a fold out couch/bed, microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom is unique in that the shower and vanity are in one room. The toilet and a sink are in the other. That's a plus. Now the bad news. The room smelled like dirty, sweaty shoes. No towel racks in the bathroom, no stool/bench in the shower. The fold out bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and likely 20 years old. I solved that by sleeping on the couch cushions on top of the bed. The couch was filthy. The rug was so filthy that my socks turned dark brown within the first hour. And the fold out couch got one second-rate, flat pillow. This property is way overpriced for what it is. This property is convenient to the airport as well as the Miami port. I won't stay here again. Shame on you, Marriott.
"Rude Management and Terrible Customer Service"
I booked my whole family there the night before our family cruise of 24 people knowing that Marriott hotels have a good reputation. The evening a few of us ordered from a flyer that was placed in our room Mama's Daughters Pizzeria. What ever you do DON'T ORDER from the flyer. Apparently it's some non legit business that later I found out uses a payphone and didn't bring exactly what we ordered (Looks like it's cooked at someone's house and boxed up). Nonetheless it was cold and didn't look edible. After I tried calling them back several times to talk to a manager about it, I received phone calls from other family members that ordered from the flyers in their room as well. So I went down to the front desk to address the issue about the restaurant they've partnered with for delivery. They told me that the company is a scam and random people come in at all times of the day and night to slide them under your door but they can't keep them out. I said that's ridiculous mine was laying on our bed when we came in the room. Also I felt like there's a security issue with that you knowing that's happening in your hotel. These people came directly to our rooms at different times of the evening. The elevators are keycard accessible but aren't turned on. I spoke directly with the night manager and he told me that it was my fault for ordering off the menu and anyone else of my family to not notice there's not an address on the flyer. After insulting me he waved at the guy coming in the door with more unmarked boxes that had just delivered to my room. I was disgusted and called to speak with Marriott Customer Care they said for the trouble they would compensate my room. When I got back from my cruise I received an email from the Assistant GM, Larry saying, "Regardless if we hand you the flyers or they are placed underneath your door. We have no control in how they operate their business. I apologize for your poor experience but I would not compensate you for an experience you had with a outside delivery company." I called Mariott Customer Care again and spoke with a supervisor that said, "Since you booked through Expedia we can't compensate you in any way (not even a voucher). I will do my best to not stay at Marriott hotels at all cost if I can avoid it. And I would not support this particular establishment at ALL.
"Was a welcome relief after booking a much grosser room down the street"
The staff was wonderful, the room was plush, and they even let me check in early! I got to Miami and had a room booked on tripadvisor with another hotel who will remain nameless. To my dismay the room that I had originally booked was absolutely disgusting! I couldn't even sit on the bed in fear I would get bugs or worse... I searched frantically for a new room on my phone, and found this place! Yes! What a welcomed, refreshing experience over the room I had booked first. I should have booked here to start with. Easy access to town and the airport. I will stay here again if I ever go back to Miami!
"Breakfast, clean room, close to the airport"
My friend and I stayed at this hotel so we could get to the airport easily in the morning. We had to pay for parking but this was a nice, clean hotel about 15 minutes away from the airport. It's located in a medical campus so there's not much to do around the hotel, but we drove to dinner somewhere else. The airport shuttle and breakfast were very helpful.
"great stay in October 2016"
This hotel was a perfect choice for us, we were cruising and it was a one night stay. nice breakfast, very clean and spacious rooms! Located in a rural subdivision, and the hospital. was safe to walk around. Shuttle came in handy, would definitely stay again
