"Shuttle Person needs to be properly trained."
The Hospital Shuttle Driver was rude, and unprofessional which is rather unfortunate because the rest of the staff was quite accommodating. I spoke to the manger about the shuttle driver, and quite frankly was disappointed no follow up was done by the manager to acknowledge he had spoken to the driver, etc. As a Marriott Rewards Member, I have stayed at other properties and never had a problem with a rude shuttle driver, so I hope this is abnormality management will fix because it overshadowed this stay in a bad way.
"Great Location to see a Marlins game"
If you're looking for a hotel close to Marlins Park, this is it. You can catch a free trolley to the game just a couple of blocks from the hotel. Other than that, there's nothing else around this hotel. Staff was friendly. Breakfast ranks about a 5 on a scale of 1 - 10. There is limited free street parking otherwise you have to pay $17/day to park. We had one big problem during our visit. We checked in about 5:00 pm, changed clothes and went immediately to a Marlins baseball game. Close to midnight we arrived back to the hotel and went to bed only to find out the mattress was wet on one side at the top. Not just a little wet, a lot wet. Since it was so late we tried putting towels down and then used the extra sheets that was provided. All were soaked through within minutes. Spouse slept on the couch while I slept on the dry side of the bed. Told the front desk the next morning and were told we would stay in our room and the mattress would be replaced. Came back much later that afternoon to find housekeeping putting new sheets on the same wet mattress. Had to call housekeeping to get them to change the mattress. Additionally, a candy wrapper laid in the hallway the entire time we stayed (3 days). Obviously, no vacuuming was being done. We won't go back.
"Hotel rooms are great!"
The hotel rooms are really nice however the area is not great. It is downtown after all. My favorite part of the hotel rooms was that they had sliding doors instead of regular doors. They were good and stocked on items. They even had an area downstairs where you can buy food or toiletries. Most of the staff were great. I however encountered one of the front desk staff that were not helpful and came off quite rude. It was a male, not sure of his name. I bought two items from downstairs which were both 3.50 each which we stated on their paper sign with the prices of everything, when he scanned it I ended up paying 11.60 for two items. My partner went back for me & asked him why it was that amount and he said it was correct because he scanned it correctly. However on the sheet with the prices, stated the amounts for the two items were 3.50 each. He did not honor what was on the paper so I recommend not buying from there. Other than that my stay was great. Breakfast is included and it is pretty good. The rooms were absolutely clean. Parking is 20$ a NIGHT which I think is ridiculous though. I recommend ditching a car or parking on the street.
"Pretty pricey for a SpringHill Hotel"
Hotel is between the airport and city center. There is no free parking. With the price being charged, you can get a better hotel at the same price. Nothing much around the hotel. The toilet bowl and shower is not in the same door.
Hotel is very near medical clinics. Got in late and was able to buy something light to eat downstairs. Room was very comfortable. The microwave and mini fridge in the room came in handy. Only negative is the parking cost ($17 + tax), but given the area that understood. Best part, the very helpful and responsive staff.
