"Nice hotel great location"
This would be a five star rating except for two minor shortcomings. Our stay was just one night for a short business meeting in the University hospital complex. The location is extremely convenient and the hotel runs a regular free shuttle to the major buildings. The hotel is busy but orderly. It is bright and the carpet and paint seems to be quite fresh. The room was well insulated from the street and adjacent room sounds. The Bed was reasonably comfortable. The room had a sofa, desk and movable tables. The commode is in a separate room from the shower and main sink. Shower water pressure was perfect. Here are the two minor shortcomings: 1. Though there is a hand washing sink in the commode compartment, there is no place to hang a towel. Likewise, in the shower area, there is onlyone small hanger next to the sink but nowhere to hand a bath towel. The only choice after using a towel is to throw it on the floor. It would seem to be a simple improvement to add a hook near the shower and another near the hand wash sink. 2. The A/C is good except that it blows directly onto the head of the bed. Movable venting would solve this. Just a note that the self parking is $16 per night. The coffee served with the complimentary breakfast is awful. The breakfast s otherwise unremarkable. Otherwise this is a totally adequate average business hotel.
"good hotel to explore the city."
i have never been to Miami. i stayed at this hotel meanwhile waited for my cruise. the accommodations were ok. the buffet breakfast was ok as well. with a variety of good things to eat such as bacon, sausages, bread, cereals, juice, etc. it was winter so i didn't have the chance to try the pool area. the parking was reduced or non existence. the lowest point was the airport shuttle. it cost 8 dollars and take you to the hotel to the airport or t the hotel to the docks. the shuttle drivers was crazy and drive in not a carefully way. The metro station is near and you can take a ride to various places in the city and malls. there is also a supermarket windixy. the neighbourhood is mainly a medical area where there are at leat 5 hospitals. therefore is a quiet and low profile place. i would recommend this hotel to stay the night or wait for 2 or 3 days maximum till your next adventure. otherwise is not your suitable choice.
"Nice hotel "
I was here conducting a conference. I stayed 5 days. The area the hotel is located is a little shady therefore I didn't leave the hotel in the evenings. There was a great variety of food that was available at the cafe in the lobby. You could order by phone and pick it up. I ate in my rooms 3 nights and it was all delicious. I ordered food two nights from delivery places the hotel advertises but I wouldn't recommend them. The food at the cafe was much tastier and cheaper. The breakfast bar was also very convenient for me since I was teaching there. And did I mention there's a Starbucks in the lobby' Each day I had a lunch break from 12-1 so I left a note taped to my door saying I would be in the room from 12-1 and did not want maid service at that time, and everyday except the last day the maid came during my lunch break. There is an on site parking garage that is $19.50/day and I highly recommend it for safety and security reasons. The rooms were very comfortable and euro chic. They included a sofa, desk, fridge, microwave and very comfortable bedding and pillows. The room rate was appropriate for the type of room and the amenities. My only complaint after a 5 day stay was when I went to the front desk the afternoon before my check out the following day and requested late check out so that I could load my car and enjoy lunch in my room during my 12-1 break. The front desk host told me she would check availability for late check out and asked me what time I would need to stay. I told her 1pm. She said "well it looks like it's going to be ok but you must be out by 1. Not 1:01 or 1:05, you must be out by 1, no later". I assured her I would be out shortly before one and would let the front desk know I was out and then I walked to my room feeling as if I had just been chastised by my mother.
"Close to Marlin stadium"
Nice hotel. Staff is helpful and friendly... Location is not so great. You pay $16 a day to park in a secure garage under hotel or u park for free outside on the streets. Not so great of a neighborhood.... Room is clean and roomy. Comes with mini fridge an microwave.... Nice breakfast in the morning and bar on site...
"Room was not prepared and the crib mattress had urine stains"
The room was fine. Much bigger than I expected. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was free. Staff was very nice. Parking is twenty dollars, which was obnoxious when I was staying here for free (using rewards points) to try to save money. I had requested a crbi for my room, which when we got in at 11 pm, was not there, so I had to wait 15 minutes with my very unhappy and tired 8 month old for them to bring it up. When they brought it up, the put the mattress down, which to my dismay had urine stains all over it. They said they could put a regular sheet over top of it, but I explained this is not safe sleep to put a king size sheet over it. They didn't understand, which was frustrating. So then I had to go get my crib from my van and set that up instead (defeats the purpose of requesting the crib ahead of time, but didn't want my kid sleeping on visibly urine stained mattress). The beds my wife and I slept on were awful. Our backs hurt the next day. We would not recommend coming here, and we do not plan to come back.
