"Central as you can get"
Recommend for anyone wanting to spend time in the Kollonaki area of Athens, where the night life is amazing. Also the best shops and restaurants can be found here. Defiantly staying here again when I come back to Athens.
We visited Athens in August and we choose a 5 star hotel. Nevertheless, the experience was horrible. The services and room were horrible: a dirty bath robe in the bathroom, a broken drawer & night stand, rust în the bathroom (battery tub & tiles). Also, it took them 45 minutes to check us in the room and they just made up excuses that they were busy and could not talk to us directly about the problems. The cherry on top was the check-out: they were about to charge us for 5 drinks that we never touched. We refused to pay, of course and explained them once more that they are horrible hosts. This is NOT a 5 stars hotel.
"View by Pericles, Interior inspired by Philippe Starck...."
It really doesn't get much better than this. We booked the Pierre Cardin Suite for our rest from the touring of the Acropolis sites and the archaeological museums. Set on Mt. Lycabettus it has sweeping views of Athens from the rooms, the rooftop pool area with its effervescent water, and the glass walled dining rooms. Each guest gets a free 15-minute massage by a master Japanese masseuse in a spa inspired by her motherland. The halls and rooms are filled with the relics and memorabilia of international and Greek glitterati. It is literally a countryside resort in the middle of Athens and a cathartic release from the madden crowd of tourists plodding their way through Classical Greek history. The hotel does need some staff retraining but the luxury is apparent from the moment you walk into the lobby filled with orchids and Starck details. This is a European and contemporary resort not an ersatz globalized commodity. It hearkens back to the time when cosmopolitan was defined by European not America taste but does not lack in contemporary technological standards. If it is your first trip to Athens plan at least one whole day and night there and if you returning to the city make this your only place to lodge. You won't regret it.
"not value for money"
nice location, with nice view, but with out free parking (25euros per night) 2 burgers (unacceptable) and 2 cokes 70 euros from the restaurant, Wifi, worst and from India, because i was travel for business, they take my jobs back
"Worth a Stay for the View"
Stayed for three nights and enjoyed the hotel which has a magnificent location more than halfway up one of Athens' highest hills. Spectacular view of the Acropolis and most of the city towards the sea. Room (double) was very small and once the shower operation was explained all was well. Room had no view (just the back yard) and overall comfortable but disappointing in its crammed amenity. The wifi in the room was very variable and poor. Will check the next time, as I was on business. Wifi in lobby and main rooms excellent and free. The breakfast room, restaurant and bar on the 6th floor are spectacular, offering a wonderful vista of Athens. Breakfast offers a basic and adequate fare. Dinner was a disappointment given the promotion of the Michelin chef. Clearly chef was not working on the one night I ate there. The over-priced meal 70 Euros for two courses and an expresso with one glass of wine was very poor quality - tough squid and lamb that promised (3 preparations) was over-cooked and very disappointing. Generally the service by staff was effective and responsive which was nice and especially when I had a problem with the telephone in my room just before leaving. Definitely will stay again, if given the opportunity
