"Not sold on the St Regis"
Beautiful beach...beautiful room...lavish by every standard... BUT.... Tooooo big for our liking...if you are looking for hotel that is huge and beautifully furnished, this may be down your alley...not my piece elf cake... So many rooms, so many floors, so many guests...the hotel is so bug, you probably won't feel the crowd most of the time...it just does not have the intimacy you may want... The view from the top floors in the morning is stunning...immaculate open sea.... The beach area is huge and beautiful...The pool area as well... It seemed like many families were concentrated around the pool, so we avoided it... The rooms are very luxurious with butler tending to your every need...5 star plus! furniture very fancy, bathrooms and shower huge and clean...comfortable living without a doubt! Valet parking available, free, there are supermarkets nearby if you need anything (Spinneys minimart)... We drove down from Dubai so a 80 minute drive or so... We did order room service, and when it arrived, we were very excited, everything looked really good, fine dining style, but the taste was disappointing...every dish we ordered (there were 3 couples) was not impressive...ok at best... We also tried 3 desserts at Turquoise...the beach lounge...also disappointing... Then dinner at Sontaya...MAJOR disappointment....we did not like a single dish.... In general, we were disappointed in the dining and eating experience...a BIG reason we will not be back...The only food experience that was fine was out Beach lunch...which was not fantastic but as good as one would expect by the beach... THEN...we found out that there is a restaurant area outside the hotel that may be better but it was too late...would we venture again now that we know' probably not... Brief...The St Regis is a very nice hotel and the service is great but our experience fell short in terms of an experience for us...especially at almost 1800 dirhams per night... 2 nights plus food set us back 7000 dirhams...
"Ideal getaway location"
We visited St Regis in February 2015 on the second leg of our Honeymoon. This is without a doubt one of the most spectacular hotels that we have stayed in anywhere in the world. The service is second to none (as it is all over the UAE!) the choice of restaurants and bars was exceptional. Every single member of staff was attentive, professional, so so hard working, but most importantly so smiley! - We have been back a further three times since our visit last year, and are remembered each time we have been back - This is a very large hotel, so remembering guests is no mean feat!
"Great Weekend Away"
We made a video of our stay you can find it on our YouTube channel 007inDubai What another amazing stay at St Regis Saadiyat! For those looking for a staycation away from Dubai or Abu Dhabi you would think you were in the Maldives with the blue azure ocean and the peace and quiet. Our room had a view over the spa and the beach and was very quiet which is just what we were looking for for a weekend away. The room itself consisted of the usual amenities you would expect in a 5* hotel, plus the BIGGEST bath I have ever been in, you could practically swim from one side to the other. Their adult swimming pool is a tranquil place with sun lounger in the water and jet pools, there is also a huge pool in the main resort area that kids can use and also has water vollyball set up. There are also sea activities such as kayaking and paddle boarding, although the sea was too rough when we were there. There are 4 restaurants on site, and across the entrance there is also a plaza with plenty more restaurants and shops. Overall a great place for an extended weekend away!
"Overpriced bad quality bad service "
Honestly Don't do it!!!! Wish I could give a zero rating... They sell everyone a sea view room then when you get to your room and can't see the sea they are trained to tell you that if you lean out of your balcony and look to one side you can see the sea. Clearly no idea what sea view is. Food is terrible and over priced with staff that have no interest in assisting. This is the same generally around the hotel. Save your money and go to a better hotel. Try Dubai!!!
Had a 10 stay here from beginning of March and we have returned rested and well looked after. Rooms are luxourious as you would expect in a 5* with a really well thought out layout for the bathroom. The walk in shower in the middle is a great idea. Super comfortable beds, quality furnishings and lots of bottled water supplied by the hotel in your room. The beach is huge, so you never feel crowded. Yes there is building work either side of the hotel, but it is so far away you can't hear it. Staff are brilliant, very friendly and efficient. Great to have an adult pool, very peaceful. Only reason I have not given this the full star treatment - all restaurants seem to be fine dining or the buffet. It would have been nice to have a 'sports bar' type of set up where one could eat a small meal in the evening. Light bites in the beach restaurant were just that. Yes this is an extremely expensive hotel, but definately worth it.
