"Fabulous customer service "
Came here on a business trip. The first thing that impressed me was that I was able to check right in and it was early in the day. That made a really nice difference in my stay. Overall The thing that stood out the most to me about this hotel is the customer service. From the restaurant in the lobby to the front desk to the concierge, everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. There's so much more too. My room was well appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable with the heavy down comforter which I love. They give you a free water bottle and offer filtered water in the lobby which is a nice little touch. Although I didn't have a dog, this is a dog friendly hotel which I think is pretty cool. The only downside I would say is that there is no room service but they do offer a breakfast in the lobby as well as dinner. The nice thing about the dinner is they are very accommodating and I asked for substitutions and they said no problem. The location of this hotel is great. You can walk to Chinatown and all the way down to the ferry building in about 20 minutes. I am very impressed with my stay here and would definitely choose this place again.
"Very disappointed "
I have stayed at the Stanford Court as I had a conference in the Fairmont and it was full. The location of the hotel is good, staff is extremely courteous and friendly. However, I was extremely disappointed by the state of the Hotel: the fridge in our room smelled awful, there were massive water leaks in the corridors on our floor (6th floor) and they had I believe water draining machines that were extremely noisy and produced dust. A day before we left, I noticed that one of the books I put on the carpet was ruined from water. I checked it and sure enough the carpet was inundated with water. My newly bought suitcase was ruined as well. Management said they will deduct the cost of the book and suitcase from our bill but that did not compensate the wasted time packing and moving to another room and going back to the shop to buy a new suitcase. I believe this hotel needs quick and big maintenance work and till then management should be honest with guests and warn them about putting things on the floor as they might be ruined !!
"$550 per night bargain break"
No restaurant, empty minibar (hotel policy), no room service, very uncomfortable and noisy lounge areas, pleasant view of industrial plant from bedroom window, loud plant, 'heaters on carpet in corridor outside bedroom, jbreakfadt served from bar with no tray and hot options on stone cold plates. At least they know how to bill!
This is one of the best hotels in the city. You can walk or catch the trolley to the wharf or walk to shopping. The only thing to remember is that if you're walking to the shopping areas that hotel is on top of the hill and the walk back up can be challenging.
Nice little hotel away from bustle of downtown. Some rooms noisy due to adjacency to the delivery alley. Ear plugs provided in room, but hard to sleep past 5AM deliveries. Would likely stay again if away from the alley.
