Loved the immediate email from concierge once I checked in. They had great recommendations for a nail salon & places to take clients to dinner. Really close to a great location and the beds were comfortable. The only downside was that the elevators are very slow.
"Great location, good staff, accommodation a little tired "
Just here for a night. Arrived after long flight. Staff friendly and helpful although check in slow. Lobby, etc all fine but room a bit tired. Location great. Bobby on concierge v helpful - thanks! Overall fine but would be better with a refurb to the rooms. Small point but long wait for lifts. Overall fine for the price
"Great boutique hotel, clean and close (enough) to city centre"
Overall a great hotel. Close to the city centre but far enough that it feels safe to walk around at night. Some lovely restaurants within walking distance. The hotel offers free bike rental, which is great. Only downside is the size of the bicycles are for tall adults only, so beware of that before committing to hire! Otherwise a great hotel in most respects.
"Great Location "
The hotel is in a fabulous location for visiting SF. Be warned though, it's an uphill walk back to the hotel from all directions. However, it's situated on a tram route and taxis were reasonably priced. We stayed 4 nights as a family. The rooms were clean and well presented. Don't bother with breakfast, overpriced and cold! Elevator service was shockingly slow; only 1 working it seemed. We'd return to this location but nothing special to make us return to this hotel
"Don't waste your money"
Elevators did not work. Restaurant is overpriced and quality is terrible. It looks a lot nicer than it is, do yourself a favour and choose a different hotel. Watching television in the room is never a plan but it would be nice if they had something better than basic cable. It is a way to get you into the overpriced lounge. Great views if you get a room facing the city. The rooms with the king size bed barely have enough room to walk around in, don't be fooled by the pictures like we were. There is also a charge of an extra $25/day, so build that into your hotel cost. Cheaper than the neighbouring fairmont hotel and ritz Carlton hotel but not worth settling on. Stay further down Powell street or closer to north beach where it is closer to everything. It is also extremely noisy outside in the morning. Feels like the windows are open, so don't plan on thinking you are going to sleep in past 8:00am.
