"Epitome of 5 star hotel"
Loved this very classy old world hotel. You could look up 5 star in a dictionary and see this place. Full of rich oligarchs, kleptocrats, and masters of the universe (Frankfurt Style). Staff were excellent and efficient. Lots of characters in this grand building that I loved front the lobby to the wide hallways and the charming stairs. Our deluxe room was almost perfect (no view) and had one of the best showers I've ever had in a hotel in a huge bathroom. Very good breakfast. Loved lunch in the adjoining restaurant. For the price we paid I thought it was a very good value and if we ever return to Frankfurt will stay here again.
The hotel lactation is excellent and near to main Frankfurt train station and cleanliness of the rpom was good but the construction work was going on on the hotel and a lot of loud sounds that we could not sleep in some times and the WiFi signal was very bad
"Excellent Hotel for first time Visit to Frankfurt"
I was a little skeptical after reading some negative reviews about this hotel, like things not working in the room, the room being old and dirty, elevators not working properly, etc.etc... but none of that applied to my stay or room. I stayed here for 1 day and 1 night (my first time in Frankfurt) and was very pleased. For being an older hotel it had all the modern amenities you would expect and more. From touch screen shower controls and built in T.V with the nice tub, everything was more fancy than any hotel I have stayed at before. Also they have a nice little mini bar and everyone was more than friendly and very helpful. Just a 10 minute walk to the Frankfurt Main Train Station and nice surrounding area around the Hotel itself. If I go back to Frankfurt I would definitely be willing to stay here again.
"using the shower faucets you need a magnifying glass "
I have to start by telling you that I love this hotel and I stay there each time I am in town for business. The French restaurant is of top quality and the hotel always maintained its cosy stile of welcoming guests . Now they started to modernise the rooms. As a principle I have nothing against revamping hotel rooms but sometimes I wished the guys who are responsible for the interior design should have to live with the results. For example to use the bathroom became an expedition to unknown territory. The shower and bath tub faucets electronic controls are so small and practically not readable that I had to take my shower with my glasses on . Might be they should create a manual similar to the ones for TV sets covering all relevant languages including a disclaimer in case you get scalded as the electronic hot and cold water control was not readable without magnifying glasses.
"Best hotel in Frankfurt"
This is my third time staying at the Steigenberger in Frankfurt, and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. I love the central location, historic ambience and legendary breakfast spread. Many of the staff seem genuinely nice too.
