"Dirty Carpets_Dodgy Taxis_FOOTBALL FANS"
I may stay again, however, note... I was in room 206. The carpets did not look clean at all. Considering the direct surrounding street area (it was wet and rainy when I was there) were disgusting and dirty outside the train station with many drinkers and homeless. So walking in either my socks or bare feet on this carpet was not happening. They did supply slippers in all fairness but even so....give it a clean.! I expect clean carpets in a room, not stained ones.! There is a pub directly outside the main lobby on the left that football fans love. When I arrived, there must have been a match close by as thousands of drunk noisy blokes were chanting wearing football colours. They were all around the hotel, the train station opposite and also crammed into the pub from 10am to last thing at night. In all fairness there was no trouble at all, the atmosphere felt surprisingly safe nad armed police were all over the place in their hundreds doing a good job, but we all know haw fast that can change when thousands of drunk football fans group up. Cleary the football matches are not on everyday but you may want to check ahead of time as the mass in this area Reception staff were very professional and polite and checked me in fast and 2 hours early. If only they had allocated me a better room.! I expected this hotel to do much better. The website and reviews got my expectations up too high. The hotel itself looks nice, the reception and lobby and restaurants looked nice but the carpets.! Jeeez.! I might stay again but next time I would have my travel agent at TAG look at confirming a newly refurbished room so apart from the the taxi issue I detail next and the carpets, it was good. Fast WiFi. Breakfast was very good, full range and well cooked. Shower pressure great. Bed was super comfy. Windows (in my room at least) either tilted at the top or opened fully and wide...FANTASTIC.! GREAT TIP. Taxis vs Trains. I've taken taxis from and to Frankfurt Airport to Frankfurt city center a few times. It's usually about 20 / 25 Euros. You get a fixed Airport rate. However, I overslept, woke up late and in my panic I called down from my room to get a taxi quote and book one to the airport. They said 30 to 40 Euros.!' This was a Sunday morning with deserted streets and a line of taxis outside all doing nothing. Do hotel staff here have some cash-in-hand-rip-off-what-they-think-are-tourists going on.' I am not saying they do...I'm just asking the question.! I did my calculations and took the train anyway. From walking out of the hotel lobby door to walking in to my Frankfurt Airport check in area....16 minutes.! My train arrived as I got the platform but had I needed to wait the maximum time for the next train, the same travel form hotel to check in would have taken me 36 minutes max. So the great tip: Trains.! From and to Frankfurt Airport it could not be easier, quicker or cheaper.! If you are not used to European trains don't worry, it's way too easy and this is exactly how it works, 1. Arrive at Frankfurt Airport, get your bags then leave the baggage hall for the main exit / taxis / trains as you would any airport. You will see, everywhere, signs for the trains so follow them. The train station is located directly below the airport, underground, with escalators down to the platforms. Go to any ticket machine there or the Ticket Office that you cannot miss on the way down to the trains where you can buy tickets from real agents who speak English and are very helpful and very nice. At the ticket machine select your language, select single journey, select Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (Frankfurt Central TrainStation) and pay cash or by credit card....2,90 Euros.! The entire journey takes 10 minutes. That's from the arrivals area to the middle of Frankfurt, about 5 stops total. Trains are super clean and safe and by not taking a taxi you avoid rush hours. A taxi can take 30 to 40 minutes or more if traffic is bad and cost you over 10 times more. Why on earth take a taxi' Take you ticket and head to the platform, I think its always platform 102 from the airport to the center and take train S9, but double check with your agent or someone on the platform. Nearly all Germans speak English, they all know the trains and they are all very friendly and helpful. Trains runs every 20 mins. On the way back, buy the same single ticket but select Frankfurt Flughafen (Frankfurt Airport). My return was on a Sunday and for some reason it was 4.80 Euros, but usually it's 2.90. It you take one train you'll see how easy it is and you will then use them to get all over the city.! It's dead easy and super cheap and super fast My room faced the back of the hotel. Not very pretty at all but lots of light, dead quiet at night and could leave my windows open all the time and considering the football fans were on the other side of the building, that was a good thing The train station is literally a 20 second walk from this hotel Good luck.!
"Weekend in Frankfurt "
The hotel is well situated, just in front of the main station. No need to take a taxi to reach it from airport. A train from the platform 1 from airport will drive you every 10 minutes and you need around 10 minutes to arrive to main station hauptbannhov. When you go out from the train you have to go left and when you go out from the exit you will see the hotel in front of you. The staff at the reception are very happy to receive you and quickly you will get your key. The room is enough spacious and all amenities you can find. Nespresso machine and cups, speakers for iPhone, nice flat TV, umbrella for rain time, iron desk, safe and bathrobes. The bath room has the bathtub and corner for shower. Really all comfort what one needs will find. The breakfast is wonderful, all what you like to have you will get. The staff of the room service is very happy to assist you for any help. The hotel is about 7:37 minutes walk from the center 😉😊. In summary: very nice place to stay, close to the center and to the train station. Enjoy your next trip to Frankfurt 🌷🌷
"Convenient if traveling by train"
The hotel pretends to be a 4 star property, but as far as I could gather only the breakfast (very good!) and the modern bathroom qualify. The relatively small rooms are tired looking with old smallish TV screens and outmoded furniture. And two rather small elevators for a hotel with 130 rooms or so - which on top accepts tour bus groups - are not enough.
"Convenient location next to Frankfurt Main Station"
The best feature about this hotel is that it is literally across the street from the Frankfurt Main Station (north exit). So convenient if you have to take the train to the airport the next day. The room was kind of dirty. I had to ask for a new pillow because there was a short, thick black hair and some gunk crusted onto it. The bathroom corners are brownish, caked with dirt, but grunginess seems to be a trend with Frankfurt Main Station hotels. The carpet had some stains on it. I stepped somewhere that was kinda wet and I'm hoping that it's because my shoes were wet. The towels and linens had a yellow tinge to them that gave the impression that it was quite old. The check-in form was pretty antiquated, where instead of saying "secondary guest" it said "wife," as if the only way to travel is where the secondary guest is a wife. This was the only hotel in Germany I've seen this at—all others ask for secondary guest information and make no assumptions about sex/gender or relationship status. The breakfast was ok. It was included with my stay but is listed at 20€. It was weird because they had some high-quality items like organic yoghurt in glass jars, but then the spinach they used on the eggs florentine appeared to be from frozen, and the bread they put it on was a low-quality white bread. Definitely not gourmet breakfast. Overall, this hotel is pretty good value for its location. It's right across from the Frankfurt Main Station.
"Great hotel in the centre of Frankfurt"
Centrally located and very convenient for pretty much anything you want to do. Parking is a bit of a headache and quite expensive. Breakfast is good and plentiful but the rooms are considerably less wow.
