"Our go to London hotel!"
This hotel is in the perfect location, a very short walk around the corner and you're right in Covent Garden, average rooms with basic bathroom but overall does the job and the location you can't fault if you want to travel round all the best places in London. The value of it is great considering it's so close to Covent Garden too. Tip! Book directly through the hotels site for dinner vouchers
"Great location, good rooms, some average staff"
The Strand Palace Hotel must be located in one of the spots in London. It is within walking distance of almost every major attraction in London. The room we had 576 was nice clean and spacious for London. My only issue was some staff members of staff made us feel unwelcome- but most were very nice. I would however definitely stay there again.
This hotel 100% went above expectations and me and my boyfriend had a fabulous stay. The hotel itself is very modern and located in a great place to sightsee as it is very central and close to things such as Covent Garden Market and the London eye etc. The reception staff were very friendly and even managed to upgrade our room for free as there was one available which was a bonus! The room was immaculate as was the bathroom all with great little extras. My boyfriend also emailed asking to have a few extras in the room as it was my Christmas present and we were given a bottle of bubbly, rose petals on the bed and a hand written card from the hotel which was a lovely touch. We didn't try the food at dinner but the breakfast buffet had lots of choice and was delicious. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel to stay in and couldn't think of any faults.
"Bad customer service "
Ok, I stayed here for 2 nights , I arrived alone at 11pm mid week, got my room key went to my room and the bedding was on the floor and there were dirty beer bottles and glasses on the side and somebody was in the shower,I complained , I was sent to the bar and at 11.45 I was given a 2nd room card, I was told they were sorry and asked if the person in the shower had seen me, I said no the door was closed, the receptionist was relieved and gave me a box of chocolates, the next day I was offered an apology by the customer relations manager and told that the customer in that room had checked out and wasn't in there! I explained that somebody was, and she agreed that the customer may have checked out on line before taking a shower or that it was indeed a chance that the customer may have left somebody in the room to leave after he had checked out either way all the strand have offered is 20% off my next booking and have called me a lier! They are now saying that nobody was in the room and they had just forgotten to clean it! Terrible hotel terrible customer service and I'm sad at their attitude to make this right . Martina rigley you are in the wrong job! Your customer service is awful.
"It's not very good but it's above average"
In my first business trip ever I stayed at the Strand. It 10 years ago and it was awful, I was never going back there. Recently I had to go to London on business on a very short notice and the two hotels I usually use were fully booked and my travel agent booked the Strand for me. I must say I wasn't excited but thought I'd give it a chance. It was fine. The room was a little dated, the carpets a little to old and that kind of thing, but all in all it was fine. The bed was good, the pillows were good, shower was good, bathroom was nice, towels were clean. And that basically is all I want when I travel. So, I'd say it's good, but not very good. I'd give it a 3.5 rating, but since the choice is between 3 or 4, I'm going with 4, since the location is excellent.
