"Great central and busy hotel"
I stayed here for work, so a group of us had rooms and also used the meeting rooms. The room was comfy and what I would call clean basic. Some of the surfaces are a little knocked and scratched and the paintwork might need a refresh; but bathroom was clean and plenty of towels. Shower has some leakage and slight mould in ceiling above the shower head but plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Bed was hard but i slept well, it's just a shame it was two singles pushed together with two single duvets on top (never as comfy as an actual double bed with a double duvet!) My room was on the city side and Sunday evening there was loud club music from somewhere nearby that went on until nearly 2 am. Maybe ask for a room on different side of you are sensitive to noise. AC worked very well. Breakfast and lunch had a wide selection - some tastier than others. Obviously caters for a very wide selection of nationalities reflected in the buffet. Meeting room well organised with tea and coffee and snacks. My only criticism is that it appears to be above the coffee shop - the intense and pungent smell of acrid roasting coffee gave us all headaches and meant that sadly we had to use the AC rather than just have the windows open. Steam room wasn't working when I was there and I ran out of time to try the sauna. Gym has the most amazing view! Pool looked lovely but right next to breakfast area and terrace so I felt a little too exposed To swim. It is worth mentioning that I found the staff to be extremely helpful, polite and accommodating - they really do a great job at making you feel welcome. The location is very central and I had dinner at two wonderful nearby restaurants - the Savoy cabbage and the canteen. For a work trip where you need facilities for a group this fits the bill, For a single tourist you might prefer to choose a more boutique B and B.
Perfect for hollidays, best locations. Is not luxurious but it matches our expectations. Is more than enough to spend some days and enjoy that amazing town. Everithing was perfect, good housekepping even when we wake up late. Perfect in terms of quality, functinality and value-for-money
"Great for business travelers. Nice small room and wonderful breakfast."
I stayed in a standard room which was spacious enough for one individual (or for a couple) with a nice TV and gadget charging points. I am sure they have larger rooms. It was a corner room with two large windows giving me great views of the buildings outside and a little bit of the table mountain. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The complimentary breakfast buffet was very satisfying with several cooks preparing your breakfast in front of you. I would recommend spending at least 1 hour enjoying the multi course buffet breakfast. Since the hotel is bang in the middle of town, one can walk to most attractions in town. I recommend a walk along long street for good non-franchise restaurants and strand street. Also the V&A waterfront is just a 15 min walk from the hotel. Also has a top floor inexpensive spa if you need a good massage.
"Please & Definately coming back with my Friends."
Absolutely loved my stay at this Hotel, mainly because of its location which is central to every place you want to go to....Walking distance to Longstreet and many other shops.....Am definately going to be staying here for all my Cape town stays.
"Cape Town at it's best"
Staying in the Strand Tower Hotel during January 2017 was once again a most enjoyable experience. Accommodation and staff were superb. The location of this Hotel is excellent for visiting the various attractions in Cape Town.
