"Short but lovely stay"
We stayed there only 1 night in transit to Zermatt . I have to admit i was a bit shocked when i saw the lobby , it didn't reflect upon teh modern look i saw online . Once in the rooms the whole thing changes . We had booked 3 rooms , a premium lake side , a lifestyle lake side and a junior suite shopping . All 3 were lovely but the lifestyle is really very nice with many modern amenities , TV in the extra large mirror etc. The service in the hotel is really excellent , location is fantastic , within walking distance of everything and breakfast was delicious . The only small negative was the bathroom cleanliness , they could have done a slightly better job . Too bad our stay was so short
"A class act"
Every staff member I met on my 2-night stay here could teach a course in first-class service: efficient but not cold; impeccably polished yet with no hint of snobbery; welcoming and friendly while avoiding insincere familiarity. The concierge not only secured last-minute dinner reservations for me but also proactively suggested a hidden gem for my next trip to Geneva, and the valet always had my car waiting out front well ahead of the time I’d requested (valet parking is off site, so do be sure to give them advance notice when you’ll be needing your car). Rooms here trend tiny, and I wouldn’t stay here unless I could again get at least the Premium Lake-Side room category to which I was upgraded as an iPrefer member; entry-level Classic rooms are roughly half the area at only 15 m² (~160 ft²). Note that even Premium rooms don’t all have bathtubs (some do, but mine had only a shower), so don’t forget to specify your preference at reservation. I appreciated the view from my mini-balcony, but lake-view rooms overlook the heavy traffic on Quai du Général-Guisan, and Geneva’s drivers aren’t hesitant about using their horns, so light sleepers may prefer a “shopping-side” room on Rue du Rhône. Of course, Geneva is a pricey city and hotels like this are only for the deep of pocket, but even so the rates here are eye-wateringly high, and I would have felt overcharged were it not for my upgrade. I would definitely consider staying here again, though—for me, the most important reason to choose a luxury property is to have a hassle-free stay, and at Hotel Metropole everything runs like the fine Swiss watches headquartered just over the bridge. ●●●●● Location ●●●●○ Sleep Quality ●●●○○ Rooms ●●●●● Service ●●●○○ Value ●●●●● Cleanliness
The Metropole is a fantastic hotel! I visited with my family just before Xmas and interestingly got the best value deal by calling them up directly...they have this special package for families over the weekend...interconnecting rooms, generous breakfast, room upgrades if available...very comfortable. The rooms are well set out and for Geneva relatively well sized...for us the interconnecting option was critical...the breakfast offered was also well presented and had good variety. The best thing about the hotel is the location and the service...just after the Mont Blanc bridge along rue du Rhone...shops all closeby...many restaurants too...a short walk to the Vielle Ville...the service of the hotel is also exceptional...I would return to the Metropole happily and recommend it highly!
"Comfortable and convenient!"
I stayed there during a business trip and i had my wife and daughter with me. We were upgraded to lakeside view although there's not much to see from the second floor. The room was comfortable especially the bed and the pillows. Wide variety of pillows from their pillow bar. But we didn't need to change ours as they were great! Amenities are good. Enjoyed the breakfast as there was a wide variety of fresh bakeries, cheese, fruits, etc. There was also a gluten free section. Very well located for a touristic or a business visit of Geneva. Professional and courteous staff. Will come back...
