"Our Most Recent Stay is Swissotel Nankai Osaka"
We have always loved staying in Swissotel Nankai Osaka because of it's very convenient location. We visited Osaka a week ago and we stayed in Swissotel Nankai once again. It is very unfortunate that our most recent stay was not as satisfactory as it had been before. While as a regular visitor and being a member of the Swissotel they had given us a higher floor, we found the mattress of the beds we slept in was so low and not as comfortable as it was before. We do not know if they had changed the type of mattresses they use. Their pillows also were different. They were old and beaten down. The room carpet looks very tired and it seems management should be thinking of refurbishing their rooms. To our surprise, we also found out that were no complimentary bottles of drinking water in our room. We had to call housekeeping to get some. Their saving grace was that they immediately brought several bottles of drinking water to our room. But we had to call them every day to give us complementary bottles of drinking water. We also found out that the Nespresso coffee machine was no longer found in all their rooms. They gave another type of coffee machine. Again their saving grace was that they immediately changed our coffee machine to a Nespresso coffee machine upon request. We still found the staff at the front desk, housekeeping and the concierge very helpful. To our delight we also were able to walk to the Osaka Garden Mall, which was a short walking distance from Swissotel. While we had stayed in Swissotel many times in the past, we had never visited this Mall. What we found interesting was that unlike most malls which carried the usual famous international brands, this particular mall had many stores that carried high end Japanese brands whose prices were reasonable. There were also several good restaurants and coffee shops. Interestingly, the Takashimaya Department Store and almost all shops in this mall have a tax-free refund desk. Thus you get a tax rebate of 8% for the items you buy.
"Big Hotel with high standards"
Just here for a quick stopover. Easy to find from the station. Check in was painless, and in hotel bar/restaurant was very good too. Room was gorgeous with excellent views of the city. A/C was excellent and quiet. Bathroom was a bit sparse but functional. Breakfast experience was the best I had in Japan. There is something there for everyone. Good place to stay in Osaka
"Love Swissotel, the heart of the city in Osaka"
It was an easy train ride from Kansai airport to Swissotel Namba Station in Osaka. The check-in was made very easy by the front desk staff. We were given a very nice room with stunning view of Namba Park and the Osaka skyline. Each morning our breakfast was at Tavolas 36, the city view was magnificent. They had great food selection from Asian to Western menu. Special kudos to Mr. Ferguson and his team, in constantly, providing excellent service. As a 1st timer tourist in Osaka, we needed great help to navigate around the Nankay region. Odaka, the concierge for the hotel, was a great help and made exploring Osaka so much easier. She was charming young lady and was always most valuable for the planning of day trip around the region. Thank you Odaka. The highlight of my stay at Swissotel was our dinner at Minami Restaurant. The finest Japanese beef and fresh seafood, prepared by chef, in front of us. Our dinner at Minami was the most exciting food experience in Japan. The food quality and the service were excellent. If I go back and would love to go back, no hesitation, Swissotel Nankay, will be my place to stay in Osaka.
Very nice hotel. Best sleep I think I have ever had in a hotel! Exec lounge food was not as good as some others I have been to, but was ok. Location is perfect - it's on top of the train station to Kansai and near a lot of night life. My main point to communicate is hotel access. It's incredibly difficult to find your way back into the hotel. The station is huge, with so many entrances, and there is very little (if any) signage. It turns out the easiest (or in our case only) way to find your way back is via the 5th floor of the department store at the north end of the station. So yes a nice place to go, but you will spend considerable time trying to find your way into it!
"Deluxe and enjoyable stay in Osaka"
This is my second time to stay in this hotel and they have upgraded all of us to deluxe floor as the room were quite full while we were checked in. Friendly staff made us a very warm welcome and the concierge staff also escort us to our floor. Although we were only staying at the 16/f, however the stunning view was kmpressed us all the time, no matter day or night time. Moreover, I have used the gym room in this hotel and all the amenties were really comprehensive and well cleaned after used by the others. Furthermore, the breakfast buffet was really delicious and with different varieties of cuisines no matter Japanese style or British style. It's really life well enjoy to have such stunning Osaka city view with the delicious food on the top floor of the Swissotel. What a perfect way to discover Osaka with Swissotel to take care the others for you when you want a memorable trip in Kansai. Definitely will come back to this hotel as the superb location and the gorgeous hospitality service!
