"Professional and exceptional service"
This 5-star hotel is what you expect - professional, excellent service along with a variety of good restaurant options. We went to the Japanese restaurant one evening and La Laconda another. Both were superb. We enjoyed the warm pool for doing laps and also the gym and spa. I would highly recommend this hotel.
"A nice stay in Quito"
We stayed in this hotel as part of a group and had a suite which had a spectacular view over Quito. The hotel is modern and has all the amenities you would expect from a hotel of this standard. The food in the cafe was excellent although the service at the bar was a little slow. We had a plumbing malfunction in our room on the first night and we were very happily moved by the hotel staff to another room without a problem. It is in more of a business district and is a drive away from the major sites. There is a supermarket on the corner which is handy and there are some excellent shops selling local Ecuadorian handicrafts and jewellery. If you don't wish to stay in the old town I would highly recommend this hotel.
"Nothing fancy, but a very good base hotel with a very helpful staff & a great breakfast"
A stay at this hotel before and after a Galapagos cruise was a welcome surprise. The rooms are what one would expect of a good, 4-star hotel in the U.S. and the service exceeds what one would expect. The hotel has extensive meeting rooms, a good amount of retail and 4-5 restaurants ranging from burgers to japanese cuisine. The real differentiation of the hotel is the service orientation of the staff....everyone from the front desk to the cleaning personnel were courteous, pleasant and willing to help. The hotel is located on a major boulevard about 15 minutes from the 'historic center'....depending on traffic....which is usually horrible. It is about 45 minutes to the airport. One big advantage of the location....there are several restaurants close by and there is a modern grocery store three blocks from the hotel. The rooms are well equipped and what one would expect at a good Marriott or Hilton. No frills, but everything works, everything is clean and the property is in good repair. A big plus is that the property will store luggage for you....so if you are going on a cruise or an exploration around Ecuador, you can check extra baggage (or dirty laundry) and pick it up when you return. Room suggestions: the higher floors have better light. The top two floors (11 & 12) are the executive floors with slightly better furnishings and amenities. Anything above the 3rd level has decent views (and better light) though the rooms on the front of the building have an even better view. The breakfast is awesome.....an incredible selection of fruits, juices, pastries and breads along with a selection of Ecuadorian specialties plus standard American fare (pancakes, french toast, mass scrambled eggs), and there is a chef station where you can order a custom omelette. Overall a very good physical property and a very well run hotel.
"A wonderful stay"
The hotel is a modern building in the Northern part of the city, where daily and business.life takes place. You are 15/20 minutes away from the historical important part of the city where all baroque churches, the Presidential Palace and the Museums are. The hotel offers all modern conveniences a Spa, a Gym a d swimming pool. The sight of the Cotopaxi volcano from the elevator is awesome. The hotel has nearby nice restaurants. It has also some good restaurants, we tried Tamagotchi and were not disappointed, it was deliciou. The whole staff is well trained and always helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.
""Swiss hotel" with not-so Swiss standards"
Terrible customer customer service, placed in a room where we could hear the exact songs from the parties that went on in their ballrooms until 2am. Hotel was completely unresponsive. Most of the staff was unprofessional - we got a call to our room asking us to come down to pay for a spa fee an hour earlier before closure as they wanted to go home for the day. We felt rushed and it did not provide the relaxing, smooth stay that a five star hotel should provide. Bathrooms are in desperate need of update. Chipped, stained tubs.
