"Helpful Staff, Good amenities, Great Location"
Very good location just opposite Oerlikon station (one stop by train from the airport and 2 stops from the Zurich main station). Makes for quick access to the city and the airport. Tickets can be bought from the reception itself, no need to get anything from the station. Very friendly and helpful staff in the reception. We had a problem with our bags being lost by the airline and they were very helpful in co-ordinating the return of the same. Rooms are nice and well maintained. We had a problem with the shower but they replaced it very quickly without any fuss. One letdown is the lack of free wifi in the rooms. The pool and spa area is super with splendid views. Plenty of food options near the hotel with a Starbucks in the same compound and a mall across the street. Also very nice Italian and Mexican restaurants in the plaza behind the hotel where there are some swings and see-saws for children as well.
"small sized room"
Room is small and not well maintained No space to put 2 suitcase A bath room for a standard Hotel looks very small and cramped location is good for business traveler but too far from the city for leisure travellers. Bareakfast was good ,only paid wifi
"Perfect location.Tiny tidy room with friendly reception staffs"
Was my very first time to Zurich and stayed at Swissotel.First impression was a cozy decorated lobby with a shopping mall just adjacent to the hotel. Room itself was clean, neat and tidy and a bit tiny.Equipment was standard and very warm and adequate lighting. Also easy arm reached switches close to my bed.The shower head was good and strong.Perfect water temperature. And the flushing system was good as well. Just one drawback was the air-conditioning system.Coz the switch in my room was really uncontrollable.Never could be off when I felt cold. Anyway, the surrounding was pretty good as a Starbucks just at the lobby level, then a supermarket, the tram stops, train station just across the road. Also, couple of restaurants in the area,so no worry for the empty stomach. :) For the transportation, there was a tram route 11 stopped just close to Starbucks heading to the old town Zurich. It took around 20 mins to the city loop. Then, you'll spend a beautiful day to enjoy the bravo scenic Zurich city. Besides of the tram, there was a train station at the same area.It took around 7-8 mins to ride to the HBF station of the old town and carry forward to your desire destination. For example Lucern/Interlaken/Bern and so on. All in all,I love Zurich.I like this hotel too.Probably should swim at the top floor of the hotel to enjoy a stunning breath taking view when next time I come!
"The best in Zurich"
This is one of the largest room hotel in Europe that I have stayed with up to date modern amenities and highest comfort level. Traditionally, hotels in Europe are quiet small with room sizes between 12 sq m to 18 sq m but this room is big with average sized of 26 sq m. Thats not all, I got the view of the Alps as this is the tallest hotel in Zurich even though it is not exactly in the city but with the fast train which located by the side of the hotel, you are 7 min away from the hustle and bustle city life with a cheaper but bigger room rates as Zurich is an expensive city. The trains to the city runs every 6 minutes or if you want a leisurely ride, do take the trams which is at the side of the hotel and cheaper too but runs about 20min to the city. The town that this hotel located is Oerlikon and many trains and trams passby this small, quaint place. Never did try the food as we purchased it directly opposite of the Hotel as the Migros supermarket located. In fact, there are 3 major supermarket located 1 min away from the hotel lobby. Cheaper alternative is behind the hotel which is Co-op Supermarket or if you are hungry for Asian food, there are 1 cheap chinese restaurant behind the hotel or 5 min walk will take you to one vietnamese restaurant called Asiaway. There is 1 indonesian restaurant 3 min behind the hotel or malaysian halal 5 min away too. Food is not an issue here folks! The concierge guy, Moorthy, A Sri Lankan is one hell of a nice chap and he will assist you whenever he can. The front desk is manned by two beautiful ladies and their nice too. Wifi is fast and stable. Toilet is good and strong power shower. TV have lotsa channel to entertained both adults and kids and the kettle work just fine. Beautiful view with great amenities room. What else do you want' Plus, you can be an Oerlikon-ian, be with the locals on the saturday morning market. Great friendly people. Love the swiss.
We received excellent service from all hotel staff. The concierge was most helpful & assisted us in choosing points of interest in the area as well as securing train/bus tickets. The restaurant service was very good & the menu selection offered many choices for all in our group. I would definitely recommend Swissotel to my friends & collegues.
