"Great for honeymooners"
Only a train ride away from the city centre and the airport, I preferred staying here for the relaxation and peace away from the hustle and bustle. Excellent service, beautiful hotel. And the facilities offered were clean and an enjoyment to use
"Past it's prime"
I didn't mind staying at this hotel, but I wouldn't say it was a great experience, either. The room had stains on walls, doors and carpets. There was a hole in a decorative panel next to the bed. The shower head was rather crusty. Something hung down from the ceiling in the shower, too. The seat had burn holes in it. Everything screams that this hotel has seen better days and is now frankly not worth the CHF200-something per night. Granted, it's in a good location (10 min from the airport, 10 min from downtown by train). Beds are nice though, very comfortable. Airconditioning is pretty loud, but you can turn that down. That about covers everything positive about this place. Also, they charge CHF 7 per day for pretty slow wi-fi (which you can upgrade for CHF 19 !!! per day). C'mon now Swissotel, that's something hotels used to do in the early 2000s. Get with the times.
This hotel is AMAZING. The customer service is outstanding (when checking in I mentioned it was my mums birthday and when we returned from our day trip she had a cupcake with Happy Birthday piped in chocolate on it left in her room!) They were always extremely helpful and almost everyone spoke English so it was easy to explain ourselves if needed. The rooms were modern, fresh and immaculate and were cleaned to an extremely high standard and had everything we needed and more. Coffee machine, Hairdryer, Mini bar (we just used it for the fridge) safe, TV (we even had UK TV channels so we could watch our soaps!) The beds were really comfortable and we fell asleep instantly every night, lovely thick towels and the bathroom was really great, the shower especially. The breakfast buffet was brilliant and covered all of our tastes. You can access WIFI at a charge but unfortunately the connection was a bit of an issue and dropped out a lot and because of that I personally thought the cost to use it each day was quite high but that was literally my only negative. I would love to stay here again in the future if we ever visit Zurich again.
I can really say that our stay with Swissotel was excellent! Fantastic Customer Service and we were provided free upgrade room! Definitely will choose Swissotel if we got the chance to visit Zurich again.
"What you see is what you get (and more)"
I have been staying in the hotel for more than 11 years now. It's just not changing, and rightfully so! Excellent service and facilities, great food and very convenient location. The rooms are nice (a bit too small though) with spoiling beds, and great view of the area. Try the 32rd floor swimming pool...
