Comment of O. Mario , France the 2016-11-29

"Nice Staff in Tired Hotel"
Hotel need a hard renovation and add coffee/tea facilities.Excellent Sarah concierge but Front desk Straff had no idea about Brunch on Sunday 19/3.Good wifi connection.Surrounded by best shopping área in town.
Stayed 3 nights with family. -Service was good - check in smooth and efficient, and friendly. Valet very friendly, and always gave great road directions. Restaurant staff were nice. I asked for a glass of water w/no ice the first morning, the waiter remembered and poured me a glass of water w/not ice the next day. When I stopped by the front desk with a question, the person there remembered my name. -Room (10th floor) was comfortable, housekeeping was good. Bed mattress seemed a little old and was not too comfortable, could be replaced. TV was high quality. - Wi-fi was not great. It was difficult to connect, could be improved. - Location is great
"old world charm with all mod cons"
Everything about this hotel is delightful: its location overlooking the Boston Public Garden, the old-fashioned elegance of the decor, the impeccable service, the food (both in the restaurants and in room service). Our room was wonderfully quiet despite it being a busy time for the hotel and the city. Highly recommended.
This is a genuinely friendly hotel. Service is outstanding. Bellhops and anyone in the vicinity offer to help with luggage at every flight of steps. Restaurant service is unobtrusive and nice. I heard from a colleague that the Indian food served is outstanding.
"Tasteful, elegant hotel in convenient location"
We had a room with 2 double beds so my husband and daughter could accompany me on this 2 day business trip - a professional meeting held at the hotel. Thus, we stayed at a discounted group rate (covered by my professional expense account - otherwise I would not have splurged on a hotel in this price range). Our room on the 12th floor (looking out toward the corner of Arlington Street and Newbury Street) was tastefully appointed and for the most part comfortable, with a desk for working and an upholstered chair for relaxing. There were plush robes and slippers available to use (although we did not use them). The climate controls allowed us to set a comfortable temperature, but unfortunately, the humidity level was on the low side and could not be adjusted, so we ended up with dry, scratchy throats and stuffy noses. The bathroom amenities were nice, with a close-up mirror on an adjustable, swinging arm, but was somewhat cramped, with the door threatening to bump into knees while seated on the toilet. The location is very convenient to Boston attractions, some within walking distance - such as the shops and restaurants of Newbury Street - and others accessible on The T, with the Arlington Street station just about a block away. The valet parking is very pricey at almost $50 per day, and every time you take the car out you can expect to tip the valet. The meeting facilities were good, and the meals provided during my business meeting were better than average conference food. My daughter and husband had breakfast in the Cafe. The service was impeccable and the food quality was good, but not spectacular considering the prices charged. Overall I would rate the hotel 4.5, but since I have to choose 4 or 5, I went with 5, since the few complaints are fairly minor in the big picture of an elegant hotel at such a good location.
