"Always a pleasure."
My wife and I visit San Francisco regularly to visit family, and we enjoy staying at the Taj Campton Place. We're always made to feel as though we're at home there, and we appreciate our airy room, the excellent service, the great bar and fine restaurant. An important element of the Taj is that it's a smaller hotel and is thus able to provide a more intimate lodging experience. The staff quickly gets to know you and is helpful in every way they can be. The location at Union Square is very convenient for walking to restaurants, museums, shopping, theater, etc.
"great location friendly staff"
The hotel in on Union Square, the best location in San Francisco for shopping, dining and access to the rest of the city. Easy walk to Chinatown, North Beach and the Wharf. Great staff. When the Uber driver was parked a block away, the bell person carried my luggage for me. If you are looking for a boutique hotel, this is the place.
"Choose Taj Campton When You Visit SF!"
I had a wonderful experience at the Taj Campton! First, the location of the hotel could not be better. It is located in Union Square with endless shopping opportunities nearby. I arrived 4 hours before the check-in time, but my room was immediately ready and I was able to check-in early. There was excellent service and a great fitness center on the terrace. The breakfast was delicious and the bistro is a great option for a more casual setting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Leo, at the concierge, helped me make plans for each day of my trip. He also advised me on how to get around the city and the sites I should see. Leo provided me with many pamphlets with information about the different tours available. He also made the reservations for the tours I decided to go on. Next time you visit San Francisco, stay at the Taj Campton! You won't regret it.
"Little gem - excellent service"
Very nice hotel that clearly has a commitment to excellent service. Every person I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. I would call it a 4-4.5 stars hotel (not the 5 that TripAdvisor gives).
"Fine if you don't mind hauling your own luggage"
I won a weekend stay here from a company I used to work for as a thank you for holding together a very complicated deal with was falling apart. I had lived in San Francisco for many years previously, so I was very excited to stay here. I don't know if it was because I had a gift certificate or not, but when I arrived, the hotel wasn't busy at all, yet I waited in my room almost a half-hour for my one suitcase to be brought up. I finally went back to the desk and retrieved it myself. Since I wasn't paying for the room and I always do this myself at the kinds of hotels I usually stay in, I didn't really mind, but if I'd paid their usual prices to stay there, I wouldn't have been too pleased.
