"The hotel is one of the better, bit old now. Deserves 5 star because of service level"
I have stayed at Tangla multiple times (+90 nights) the last year and a half. The rooms are well furnished, with all the amenities you need for a business trip or a couple's vacation. The rooms are generally clean, although I have felt the carpet being used. What makes this hotel excellent is the service level. The room service is good, but I am a very big fan of the lobby concierge. They have helped me book flights, trains, other hotels and especially take deliveries and make payments from Chinese online shopping, sometimes before I even arrive. I have some of the staff on WeChat, in case I need help when I'm not in the hotel. I will soon be going again :)
"A good hotel!"
The room was clean (#2003) and it was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked like a charm in the room although the common areas were a touch warmer. I did not face the main avenue so maybe that influenced the ambient noise. The room was good, it showed a little wear and tear but nothing awful jumps out. I had a Executive King which gave me access to the Executive Lounge, which did not offer complimentary breakfast. I learned that on day 2 of my 6 night stay. If you don't take the breakfast package and have the Exec room, go down to Café D'Or because there is a huge selection of fresher looking food. The food in the lounge was more expensive (160Y versus 100Y on floor 2). The evening snacks were not particularly good, mostly fried items and although cheese was available, when there were crackers, they were a bit stale. There is not a lot of English spoken here. There is some. It can be difficult to get one's point across. But they are nice. Jed in the Executive Lounge was very nice and went out of his way to help me. The hotel is about 4km from Tian'namen Square and the Forbidden City. It was a very cheap taxi ride and a very very cheap subway ride away.
Rooms ok nothing special. Air con worked well. Most staff had a basic level of English. The hotel has an exchange facility but I was given various stories as to why they couldn't exchange Australian dollars. Found it extremely difficult to have a taxi arranged from the hotel to a meeting. Breakfast extremely simple and not much variety. Not worth adding breakfast to your room rate just go down the road to Starbucks.
"Luxury Hotel With Good Accommodation "
Visiting Beijing for the first time with family, especially for an Malaysian, Indian family like us this is very stragic spot and walking distance to Subway (rainway ). Near to air port around 30 min.
This is a hotel which is well located near tourist spots as well as business centres and railway stations.Comfortable but small rooms. Wifi is free but of no use. Restaurants are quite good. English speaking staff is few.
