"A wonderful place to stay"
The chain seems to have a special affection for the Arctic Club; it is very well run; they just spent a million bucks on new "Walrus" themed carpeting, and the staff seems really anxious to show the Arctic Club to its best.
"Nice Hotel with Great Atmosphere"
For a moderate price, I was provided with an excellent room in an older hotel that has been well-kept, updated and turned into a warm place to stay. The staff was excellent. The room service breakfast was excellent. The pub food was very good. I enjoyed a comfortable stay during a challenging business trip to Seattle. My thanks to the staff.
"Cool Old Chic"
This hotel harkens back to the days of Sinatra and the Rat Pack. If you think old is new again, this is the place for you. Well maintained and chic, I will definitely be back. The hotel sits in the heart of Seattle with easy walking access to Pikes Market and other points of interest. The rooms are just very cool....there is no other word for it.
"Your Room Is Ready, Mrs. Astor--Call if You Can't Find the Bathroom Light Switch"
This property is lovely and is reminiscent of old-style hotels. This is the second time I've stayed here--I didn't have time to write a review the first time--and I'm glad I stayed a second time. The lobby is spacious and features a well-stocked bar. Memorabilia and photos of past times grace the area and walls. The staff sits behind an elegant counter to greet you. Even though it was Thanksgiving, I didn't have to wait. It was chilly outside but very warm when I entered. The thermostat in my room worked fantastically. The room itself was large, with a view of the city streets. I stayed on a top floor (believe me, belonging to Hilton Honors has its perks--I could choose the room online!). The wall was attractively papered, and the bed was very comfortable. I slept like a rock all three nights. The staff was accommodating, the restaurant staff and bartenders were welcoming, the food served was delicious, the valets were nice to talk to (I've never gotten a handwritten note from a valet left in my car on my departure). So, why not five stars' It's because there were a couple of "What were they thinking" things. The bathroom was good-size, but the toilet paper roll was hung way across the room, and you had to stretch to pull it down. Why it wasn't right next to the toilet is a mystery. While there were plenty of towels, the light switch bank, which lit up the bathroom, the shower and the vanity area, was situated high up on the towel rack inside the bathroom, which made no sense. I looked everywhere for it and finally had to ask downstairs. The whirlpool jets went all over the place. Despite all that, I'll stay here again next time I'm in Seattle. At least I'll know where the light switches are, and I'll stick to the shower.
"Lovely historic hotel"
I love staying in hotels that have been renovated/saved while traveling. I appreciate the structure and keeping the period feel. I had a pleasant room on the tenth floor. As a diamond traveler, I was happy to finally find a Hilton property that offered an upgrade. It's a shame others don't do this for us frequent loyal guests. Nice location. For the cost to valet, it's worth it to use Uber for travel needs during the stay. Extremely comfortable bedding...especially those pillows. Oh those pillows were just amazing...
