Located in the heart of fashionable Kensington, the Millennium Bailey’s hotel is close to many of London's most exclusive shopping districts and major attractions like Hyde Park, Kensington Palace and Gardens, the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum, and Olympia exhibition centre.
"Great experience, highly recommended for short stay in London."
I stayed at the Bailey's for 1 week with my family in Feb 2017. It was an excellent and very pleasant experience overall. Location: The hotel has a charming character and situated in a very convenient location in London. It is literally acrossthe street from the "Tube" station. 1 Station away from High street Kensigton and 2 Stops from Knightsbridge (Harrods). Starbucks, Tesco Express,Sainsbury's 2 Pubs, Steak and pasta restaurants..and more are at your doorstep. The London Bus tours (Hop-on, Hop-off) also stop across the street. It is is also very close to the Albert's Hall. Oxford Street is about 15 minutes away by Taxi. In a nutshell, it's a great location to be in if you'll be spending your time around the museums, knighstbridge, Oxford and regent street. The room: We had the Luxury Family room: 2 queen beds + 1 Sofa bed. It was perfect for us, family with one teenager and two small children (under 8). It was perfect for our needs as we barely spent time in it. The bathroom was small but quite nice, with very good hot water pressure in the shower (no bath tub), Marble counters and good amenities. We were on the first floor. So it was a bit noisy (from the street) at times, but again, not a big deal. The beds were quite comfortable and had reading lights and USD chargers next to to them. Our room gave us access to the "Club Lounge", a small business like lounge with an espresso machine, chips, cookies and a few soft drinks. I used it twice to call the office. It's perfect for that. Breakfast; This was included in our rate. Small, but complete and v. good quality food served in the hotel's main restaurant. Service is excellent. Vienoiseries and breads were freshly baked every morning. It was just right to get us started for the day. Our children loved the hot chocolate. Service: Was excellent throughout. Check-in/check out, concierge, porter, cleaning staff. Verdict: Very pleasant experience overall and great value for money. The only reason I gave it five stars rather than 5, was that overall cleanliness in carpets and bed sheets could be improved.
Stayed at Bailey's for 6 nights. Picked this hotel because was near to the tube station and according to the reviews there were a lot eateries ...that was correct... Overall the hotel was nice, staff was helpful and friendly, bed was a bit soft but still comfortable. Shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, soap and cotton balls were provided. Boiler, tea bags, instant coffee and also had some cookies. I found the boiler was a bit oily then asked to change it. Then we didn't turn on the room heater of the air -conditioner as it was pretty warm . But on our 3rd day the temperature dropped and the room was freezing, we turned it on, but it kept blowing cold wind, we waited for a while, but still and actually we couldn't stand it anymore. Called the staff to fix, he just told us to keep it on, then it would change to warm air...were freezed like dead already, how could I stand the room getting cold and cold. The staff then given us a portable heater, finally I could fell asleep... One more thing, asked for a quiet room when making reservation, was arranged a room that was just next to the stairs ... wanted to change but was too tired to go reception to ask again. Luckily, just in the morning about 10 to 12 it was noisy, because people checking out and big luggages carrying up the stairs.
"Good hotel, great location"
My friend and I stayed here during the first week of February. We had stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago and had been impressed with the service. The hotel has since undergone renovation and the updated rooms are comfy and nicely appointed. There were some minor issues with the room e.g. the bathroom sink is rather too big for the space, the lights over the bed could not be turned on or off while lying down (unless there was a switch we never found) and housekeeping was a tad uneven...no washcloths one day, only one another time. Most annoying, the TV never worked properly. The picture would freeze or pixelate or both. This was never resolved during our stay and according to the front desk was a system-wide problem. It is likely that no one travels to London just to watch television, but before a day of touring it is nice to know what the weather will be like and at the end of the day it's nice to relax in front of the TV. We reported our problem daily and became quite friendly with the concierge, who, at the end of our stay, offered some compensation for our troubles. For various reasons we were not able to take advantage of the offers, e.g. we were offered breakfast but that was already included in our rate. The kindly concierge wouldn't give up and said he had put a note in my file and there would be a surprise the next time I booked. The old hotel was a clunky place with warm, welcoming staff. The renovated hotel retains much of the old appeal but has lost some of its warmth. With the exception of our friendly concierge, the front desk staff was businesslike and efficient but did nothing to make us feel that they were glad to see us. Charm school might be in order for these folks. On the other hand, the housekeeping staff and the restaurant workers were all pleasant and gracious. I plan to stay at the hotel again and not just to find out what the surprise will be but because I do like the hotel. AND its location! It is just steps from the Gloucester Road tube station on the Piccadilly line, which serves Heathrow and much of the city. There are other lines at the station as well, so getting around is very easy. Shops, restaurants, pubs, bus stops and ATM's are all nearby.
"Very pleasant experience"
Very nice hotel in a typical building, right in front of the tube station. Professional hotel staff. Breakfast is rich and various, and you can enjoy it in their bar-restaurant: waiters are efficient and kind. If you can try one of their beautiful suites, and you would never leave. Large modern shower and huge led tv in classic room also. Definitely worth!
"Poor service from Operation Manager"
Front desk wasn't able to resolve room issue when reservation team was not on duty. The operation manager made the matter worse by showing her horrendous attitude towards guests. Front desk don't communicate internally with reservation. New loyalty programme is a flop.
