Located in the heart of fashionable Kensington, the Millennium Bailey’s hotel is close to many of London's most exclusive shopping districts and major attractions like Hyde Park, Kensington Palace and Gardens, the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum, and Olympia exhibition centre.
"Luxurious ambience, enhanced by excellent staff"
We were lucky enough to stay at the Bailey's Hotel for a few nights prior to Christmas. We really enjoyed all aspects of our stay. The room was large by London standards and beautifully appointed. The extra touches, such as the stunningly decorated Christmas tree in the foyer and the sweeping staircase, added to the sense of luxury, class and old-world charm. Despite being in a very central location (across the road from Gloucester Road station), our room was quiet and we slept well. Best of all, the staff were outstanding - particularly the concierge and 'doormen' who were friendly, personable and knowledgeable. One even took the time to help us download the Uber app, so we could use it to save money on travel to our next destination. We very highly recommend this hotel.
"Great location "
This hotel is great value for money in London, great location, literally opposite the tube station. The routes mean all of London is easily accessible. Extremely friendly staff particularly Gary the door man who was very polite and informative.
"Excellent first visit to London"
I was in England on business and stayed an extra week for play. I've stayed in many hotels and resorts all over the world, and I would not hesitate to stay The Bailey again. Positives: 1. Location! A. Directly across the street from the train station. B. Walking distance to almost everything. C. Tour(s) pick-up/drop off on street in front of hotel. D. The immediate area is beautiful with many shops/pubs/restaurants. One of our favorites was a little place right across the street with great coffee, pastries and breakfast sandwiches. It was very affordable and after the second day they remembered us and our order. 2. Facility: Historic building that has been maintained beautifully with a lobby that has been updated to a very classy feel with attention to detail. On site restaurant/bar maintained to the same standards. 3. Personnel: Everyone, from doorman to the front desk to the maid service was warm and friendly. 4. Value: Great value for the buck! Negatives 1. Wifi service is spotty 2. We had a street view room (which I would highly recommend), but I can see where a back side room would be not preferable. All things considered, we would definitely stay here again
Stayed here for 2 nights just before Christmas, the foyer area and grand staircase were beautifully decorated . A lovely atmosphere for a Christmas stay. Our room was very stylish,a real feeling of luxury and comfort. Continental breakfast was included in our stay and was excellent . Plenty of choice,no feeling of being rushed, staff attentive. location and travel options super easy,no complaints, would not hesitate to return.
"Sent me to a different hotel"
I chose this hotel due to its location to family and because it was located just off a convenient tube stop. I booked it several weeks ahead on Expedia and paid for it up front. When I arrived at the hotel however, the front desk acted as if I had no reservation. After I proved that I indeed had booked that hotel for those dates, they told me that I had been transferred to their "sister property" the Copthorne Tara Hotel and that I should have received a call or email (I hadn't). Along the way they blamed Expedia for losing my reservation (which I think is a flat out lie since at the same time the Bailey's hotel was sending me promotional email asking me about my stay) - so they got my information somewhere. I believe they simply overbooked and were scrambling to do something about it. Here's the worst part, the Copthorne Tara is a lower class hotel with cheaper room rates, yet there was no effort to compensate me for the trouble or room rate difference. The Copthorne Tara is also located on a less convenient tube stop that added at least 20 minutes to my commute - in a lot of cases I had to take an Uber because the Circle/District stops there so infrequently. I noticed that the Millenium corporate office was located in the Copthorne and took the time to explain my situation. I met with the GM who was pleasant who assured me they would take care of it - they haven't, nor have they attempted to contact me since.
