"Great hotel, brilliant location and friendly staff"
Stayed here for 3 nights over Easter on a leisure break. I stay in quite a few hotels in London on business around London Bridge, and if this was on a direct line to London Bridge I would make a point of staying here on a regular base. That said you have a choice of Piccadilly Line or Distrct/Circle Line from the tube station across the road so getting around London is no problem. Also, one of the hop on tourist buses stops directly outside the hotel It looks like the hotel has been nicely refurbed recently and the rooms were very comfortable, quiet and spacious. Our room also had a particularly large flat screen TV. We didn't eat at the hotel but for breakfast we went to a nice little cafe along the street, and there is also a Starbucks across the street. On the Sunday night Sheffield Wednesday FC stayed in the hotel as they were playing QPR the next day so they must think highly of this hotel.
"Lovely hotel, great location, good for family"
We had 2 rooms for our family of 4 - not too close together, rooms 301 and 315, but it was OK. Bed was HEAVENLY. Shower was a bit out in the open as small glass door did not stop water from drenching the floor, but enough towels to dry it up. I dropped my earrings down the sink drain - it's one of those flippy drains - and they had a person up to help within minutes. Thank you very much!!
Stayed in a single room and could not have been better: very nice décor, very comfy bed and with everything you needed in the room. Staff was really friendly and efficient & breakfast was delicious. I will definately stay here again.
Spent a night there in April only basic room but very good lovely bed linen and very clean Breakfast was very good and service was excellent everyone of the other staff was also very helpful and it very local for the London attractions
"Very poor management "
I arrived in London on a 30 hour flight from Australia via Singapore and had booked a deluxe room at Baileys and paid for it in February online. The problem that arose was that deluxe rooms are only on certain parts of the hotel and after a renovation this is not clear on the website Having stayed in the hotel over many years ( 10+) i was aware of noise from the bar was an issue. I wanted the quiet side of the building away from the bar but these rooms were called classic doubles. I had booked a more expensive room not understanding the difference. I accepted a downgrade with no refund reluctantly. I wasn't happy but peace and quiet and the ability to sleep were priorities for me. A female manager said she would look after the change for me but then went on her 'break' without liaising with me. When i heard her saying in the lobby she was going on her break i told her i expected her to complete the task first. She had delegated the job to a junior male on the desk and turned her back on me going out the main door of the hotel. I asked her if she understood that i was the customer but she appeared not to respond. I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect. The room she arranged was ridiculously small and totally unsuitable. I finally spoke to another manager who sorted out an upgrade and he was very helpful. I was so tired i burst into tears after this was offered. I was exhausted from the flight. It was 1pm and I had arrived at the hotel at 10.30am. I do understand that check in time is 2pm but there were people checking in earlier and i had spent 3 hours waiting for a suitable quiet room. Its a very nice hotel but since the last time i came over a year ago there has a total change of front desk staff including managers. Bailey's Hotel management needs to be aware of some guests who are fatigued after long haul flights. They need to be more customer focussed. They need to follow through when they undertake to do something. They need to train this particular manager to show respect to customers. They need to improve the website so the differences between rooms is clear including location within the hotel. I love this hotel and i come to London at least yearly. I am so disappointed and still upset. I have considered moving on. I have not had any response to my complaint that that I was treated disrespectfully by the female manager. I feel she will carry on business as usual without even a reprimand for her off hand attitude.
