"Great resort for honeymoon!"
My husband and I had a very positive experience at Beloved Playa Mujeres! The room was spacious and comfortable and included a private plunge pool, hot tub, and outdoor daybed. The food was far better than I've had at other all inclusive resorts, and 24-hour room service is included, which is a huge plus. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The resort is relatively small, so there was no rushing to get beach chairs early in the morning. If I could give this resort six stars, I would. Our arriving flight from Dallas was cancelled due to weather, which resulted in arriving a day late. The hotel group has a strict "no cancellation/modification policy," so we were worried that we would be charged for our first night even though we were not there. While we could be be refunded, they let us extend our stay an extra night, which was much appreciated.
"Destination Wedding in Paradise"
We got married at the Beloved on Dec 9, 2016. This resort was the PERFECT place for a wedding! I found it really hard to find information about this resort/wedding so I'm going to leave a detailed review for future stressed out brides to try to convince them THIS is the way to go! :) The resort: It's small, clean, and beautiful. The staff is willing to go out of their way to make sure you are having the most excellent time. Don't like the liquor in your room'' Call them- they will replace it with something you like. Need 3 meals for one person (may be guilty of this) delivered to your room' They nailed it- in fact- after we got married, we did room service every night and sat on our 2 Story Casita suite porch and ate our hearts out. Every time you see the manager of the resort, she will be carrying a notebook to write down anything she can to make your experience better. We told her our room was a little hot for our liking- by the time we returned to our room there was a portable air conditioner (nice one) blowing extra cold air into our room. They know you by name here, so you feel extra special- especially if you're wedding is here! I swear they stalk your rooms- the minute we walked out, by the time we returned it was cleaned and usually a little surprise. The food wasn't the BEST I've ever had- but it was well worth what we paid. By the end of the week we had some favorites that were amazing (Like the lobster, pizza, spring rolls, alfredo, and MORE) I mentioned one night I loved cheese, next thing I knew the waiter rolled out an entire cheese display! There is always room at the beach and pool- in fact two of the three pools were empty while we were there and the place was fully booked. You really don't see people unless you want to. This is NOT a party resort- so If you're into late nights getting wasted- this isn't your place. It was so nice at 10pm when the resort just got really quiet and you can enjoy your balcony view. It's perfect to relax and recharge.. and GET MARRIED! The wedding: Maribel was our wedding coordinator. This is what she does- and she's really good at it. We planned our wedding within 2.5 months with her. Now- the resort doesn't respond to emails in 24 hours- but she does respond. When I got worried, I called the resort and they put me straight through to her. She assured me things were being put in place to give me the wedding I wanted. I didn't love the flower packages, so I sent her a picture of what I wanted my flowers to look like- she sent them to their in house florist- who sent me back a price (reasonable). I didn't know what my flowers would look like til hours before my wedding- but they were THE MOST BEAUTIFUL flowers I've ever seen in a wedding. There were probably 50 roses in my bouquet. I added flowers to the white gazebo- and they were stunning. I also took a risk and used the in house photographer (Season's Photo Studio with Juan Carlos as the photographer). These pictures were STUNNING!! He was willing to take any picture I wanted and was very prompt on his email responses once the wedding was over. We bought one of the most expensive wedding photography packages, because the actual wedding (with custom flowers) was only running about $1000. I wouldn't change a single thing about that day!!! Just be prepared to run off their time, and not the rushed "please return my email today" crazy bridezilla time. :) Maribel had my wedding day run perfect. They pulled my songs off my iPad and had a speaker down by the water where the wedding was. Not fancy- but perfect for us as we only had 12 guest attend. My wedding pictures are the most beautiful I've ever seen- but I'm totally biased. :) We were there for a total of 8 nights. We had our guest fly in early, before the wedding if they wanted a little vacation and fly out the day after our wedding so we could honeymoon. Of course a lot of friends and family couldn't make it- but we really wanted the wedding to be about us and our marriage and not a big showy ceremony that broke our bank. The day of the wedding my my Matron of Honor and I rented out the bridal suite in the SPA (80 bucks- you MUST do!). They came in there and did our hair and makeup and we got ready in there. They brought us mimosas to sip and and food for 100 people even though only about 5 came through (guest of ours). The SPA was a beautiful place for us to take pictures before the wedding. (I'll try to post some). Because this resort is at the end of a line of resorts, there was not a lot of "through" traffic on the beach. Which if your having a wedding- you dread! I didn't want people walking behind my gazebo while the wedding was being filmed. Mind you- one ignorant lady made her way by during the ceremony, but all in all the beach was empty. I DO recommend the 5pm time slot for that reason (less traffic). The photographers are great at what they do- and promised they could edit out an idiot if need be. THIs is why Beloved excellence is a better place to be married than Excellence Playa Mujeres (next door) which is a massive resort with tons of people. (however- your guest can stay there if the Beloved is booked up, or Finest Hotel - both within walking distance to Beloved) There is so much I could say! If you're stressed out- want a stress free wedding moving forward and have a passport... JUMP... you won't regret. Misti
"A lovely getaway with lots of perks"
My friends and I spent a wonderful five nights at Beloved to celebrate our birthday year (#fortyandfabulous) and it was a perfect spot for our celebration - beachy fun in the sun, laid back but stylish, and overflowing with incredible staff who went so far out of their way to make our trip a great one. (Special shout outs go to Dani, who was absolutely amazing in providing A+ service on the beach; Mairo, for his ability to lead all activities with a smile; Miguel, for allowing us to bring our 90s dance party dreams to life.) One of my favorite aspects of Beloved is its size - I enjoyed being in such a small resort and never feeling crowded, whether on the beach or in the pool or in a restaurant. Another huge perk was the overwhelming cleanliness. I have no idea how they keep the place so spotless, but it is seriously impressive. As this was my first time staying at an all-inclusive it's tough for me to rate the food, but my friends said they'd consider it among the top tier of all-inclusive food they've experienced so props for that, too. A special thanks for comping us the extra large cabana that we enjoyed the %&*@ out of all week! We experienced some of the same quirks that others mentioned - oddly disabled keys, not-quite-right desserts, and some uncomfortable beds - but overall we definitely had a fabulous experience. If you're looking for a laid back, low drama place to vacation outside of Cancun, you can't go wrong at Beloved.
"A Quiet Escape from Reality!"
We love LOVE the Excellence properties! We have stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres as well as Excellence Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic & that is why we booked this resort! We thought it was a great time to get away and try the smaller Beloved. We were excited to see it had changed from a family resort to couples only back in September. Our travel dates were Jan 13-Jan 18 - just my husband & I! We had a swim out suite with private garden We booked Feralter for private transportation (around $100 - WORTH EVERY PENNY) - the resort private transportation offered was more expensive. We arrived around 3pm, greeted with champagne to a quaint, clean and bright lobby. The bad news is, the hotel was overbooked so they did not have any king bed swim ups for us for that day. We were given the option of taking a double bed swim - pushing the 2 beds together OR a room on the 3rd floor, being able to have a king bed swim out the next day. In situations like these, you really do find out the person you are. Are you a person that will throw a tantrum and let it ruin your hard earned vacation' Or do you go with the flow and listen to options. We chose to remain calm and take the 3rd floor room for just the first night, then moved the next day to our swim out. With that choice, they also offered us the ocean front cabana (1 of 6, I believe) for the length of our stay. Those cabanas are $45/day to rent. DONE! WiFi works great in all areas we were in. Spa is fabulous - we did aqua therapy AND a couples massage Its gorgeous there. Its quiet there. Super clean. The food is pretty great. The staff and customer service is one of the best we've encountered in our travels. Pools are HEATED - we were worried about this going in January Top shelf alcohol (no, really, it is) in your individual room You did not need reservations for any of their restaurants. PERIOD. You could always walk in and be seated immediately. You could always get a spot on the beach. always. You never had to wait for a drink. Less people! Great room 24-hour room service (get the creme brulee & fajitas!) If you want to socialize, there are people there...but not many! It was pretty fantastic. I'm a super social person and this took me a day to adjust to not seeing hoards of people at the pool bar, ocean or swim out pools! HINTS: *Men: Bring close-toed shoes. No flip flops. You will be turned away - a couple we ran into were turned away for dinner at Aroma for wearing flip flops to dinner. *Don't turn on the shower head full blast. You might lose some skin (haha). *The pool bar gets hopping about 12 and ends about 2! *Order a 'bon bon' from Maritza (not her real name) at the lobby bar. You will not be disappointed. In fact, this made me purchase a bottle of '43' to bring home for my coffee. This drink is coffee, '43' liquor & cream - that's it. *We didn't book spa treatments until the day we arrived. They had a 35% off coupon waiting when we checked in. *Do the spa! If you don't want a full massage, take advantage of the Aqua Therapy. It may seem like torture at the time, but you'll want to go back for more - this will be our 3rd Excellence Aqua Therapy session. Always great. *If you want a higher quality of alcohol in your room, you can have it, but you'll have to give up 1-3 bottles that they gave you as trade but they are happy to oblige! (ie: If you wanted Grey Goose instead of Svedka) Next time we come back, we are getting a Casita - they're gorgeous! If you book the couples aromatherapy massage they will rub crushed ice all over your body while you are sitting in a warm bath. Sounds painful' Well, it can be BUT somehow it makes me want to go back and do it again. haha! Honestly, I was most worried about the pool water temp since it was January. They have heated pools (warm/not hot) so I was super happy about that. The former Excellence we've stayed in do not have this feature that I'm aware of. We did not venture out of the resort for any excursions. Honestly, we didn't want to leave. Ever. If you want quiet relaxation, alone time with your significant other and not loud, rowdy people/music or wait for food/drinks, this is your joint!
"great customer services"
I went with a friend from Jan 11 to Jan 18 2017. We had a wonderful experience. the grounds are meticulusly maintained. Maria Reyes is the customer service director and she is wounderful. always loking to improve the services. the concierge services are helpful and fast responding to any demands. it is easy to get a lounger at the pool or at the beach.. food is tasty and diverse. It is nice not to have to reserve to go to a restaurant. the only minor thing is that the lighting in the restaurants is low especially in the Lizo, Mexican restaurant . I will return in a heartbeat and encourage you to do so you will not regreat it. I strongly envision going back in March/April for my birthday.
