"Be sure to ask if any scheduled repairs during your stay upon check in!"
Stayed with my husband on business trip. The Hotel had a scheduled repair that meant no hot water in the room the last day of our stay which was not disclosed when we checked in. Instead we were informed of it by a letter left by housekeeping the night before the hot water was turned off. In the end we were comped a night and then, when the water still didnt come on at the promised time, we moved rooms for the last 12 hours of our stay. A real pain in the neck and I think it highly unprofessional for the Berkeley to put guests in a room they knew would not have hot water during part of their stay. We won't go back.
"One of the best hotels in London"
Wonderful hotel with great facilities , the rooms are so clean and modern and the restaurant was outstanding. The concierge service is great and they serve one of the best afternoon teas in town Overall excellent and worth the price with a great central location close to everything and walking distance from all central shopping in london
"Awful renovation "
My family and I have stayed at the Berkeley for 25 years every summer and the hotel has always felt like my London address. Over the years I have seen many changes and one think always remains the friendly service. Over the last year the Berkeley has gone under some form of renovation and I believe this will continue for 5 years. The new look is what they call it or what i heard a reception say "the new terminal for the new runway at Heathrow" has destroyed all the charm the hotel had. The beautiful elegant British building has now a new entrance that looks like Ikea installed it. The staff have all changed and all my friends at the reception desk are no longer there. I am very upset that my London home has been destroyed. On a positive note I am glad the spa remains undamaged by the new plan. I now stay at the Bulgari which is modern however elegant in its own way. Sad face :(
"First class service"
We had a very comfortable stay at the Berkeley for my birthday. We had a slight problem with the room on arrival, but this was dealt with excellently by the staff whilst we sipped a delicious cocktail at the bar. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The spa area is great, a nice little roof garden area and views across London. Good location for the Royal Albert Hall and across the road from Hyde park - great to walk off the tasty breakfast! Overall great stay with excellent service.
"Amazing Stay & Experience!"
Stayed here last weekend after a recommendation from a friend who visited recently. The hotel has gone through some refurbishment but I must say is looking fabulous with a new entrance and a warm smile upon arrival. Nothing was too much trouble from the very attentive staff who made my friend and I feel very welcome and special. The newly renovated Blue Bar is fantastic with amazing cocktails and a hip/trendy atmosphere, great for people watching! The suit was simply fabulous, super clean and so spacious perfectly what you would expect from a top luxury 5 star hotel. The staff are spot on and seem to be there when you need them as if they can read your mind but without invading your space, ask for something and it was done without fuss. Spa treatments were amazing also! All in all I would highly recommend this hotel if you want that exceptional 5 star treatment but with a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your break. Can't wait to return.
