Stayed here for a weekend with the kids. Great location. Next door to the fairground. And right by the prom. Ripleys and madam tusards is within walking distance. Hotel is very child friendly. Staff were lovely and advised us to get down early for breakfast to avoid the rush. The breakfast was lovely. Full buffet with everything you need. Room had tv, kettle with free hot choc, tea and coffee. Rooms where adequate sizes, double bed for adults and bunk beds for the kids along with a huge snakes and ladders game on the wall. Would go here again and intend to, next time we are in Blackpool.
Great weekend at the Big Blue. Family member has stayed at this great hotel over previous years so was an easy decision to stay again! Great meal in the restaurant for the ten of us staying and the team looked after our party all evening and again on sunday morning. Relaxed atmosphere for adults and kids to relax and enjoy drinks in the bar after an afternoon at the Tower. Kids love the rooms with the bunk beds and play station built in so kept the boys quiet and occupied! Plenty of parking onsite and the ten of us all had a great weekend! Even better with the discounted Pleasure Beach tickets! Great team at the Big Blue #WeWillBeBack!
"great time at big blue"
Great staff and service - reception , restaurant and housekeeping. Room , corridors everywhere spotless . Good size room and spacious bathroom . Food in restaurant lovely - evening meal especially . Very helpful reception staff helped us with tram details and we got several attraction tickets cheaper through booking through the hotel
"Over priced Hotel"
Hotel in a great location may be thats why it costs £99 per night however we did get an early check in which was good but a bit disappointing that we had 2 sweaty socks in our room and Breakfast is a bit of a lottery you have to queue up to give your room number then sit down in the bar area and wait to be called we waited 20 minutes and this was at 08-45 but i have to say breakfast was enjoyable
"Good Hotel, Shame about Breakfast."
We stayed here for two nights: 4th and 5th October. It is well situated just across the road from the prom and a tram stop and right in front of the Pleasure Beach with its own dedicated entrance. There is a large free car park at the front but be warned, if you park in the main part of the car park, you will need a code to get out through the barrier. The inside of the hotel is very smart and there are two extremely responsive lifts serving the upper floors. We never had to wait longer than a few seconds for a lift to arrive. Our room was lovely: well decorated, a good size and it had its own lounge area at the far end near the window with two comfy chairs and a footstool. There were plenty of power points, some with USB sockets and an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was excellent with a shower over the bath but due to the way it was set up, it was impossible to have a shower without soaking the floor. For me the only let down was the quality of the breakfasts which did not match the high quality of the building. The only service was self service including the hot drinks. The hot buffet was not very hot, in fact my beans were cold, and nothing screams "cheap" to me more than tinned tomatoes sloshing round in their own juice. Of course that is only my personal opinion but it is the reason why I've scored the Big Blue Hotel only four out of five.
