Fabulous hotel, brilliant location. Staff were wonderful, bar and restaurant were awesome..... NEW MATTRESSESS in family rooms are a necessity. It would have been brilliant if the beds hadn't have been so awful!!
Stayed here twice now. The hotel staff cannot do enough for you. Rooms are brilliant and as we have 2 children they accommodate for everything we need. My eldest particularly liked the fact that he had bunk beds with his own TV. When we are visiting Blackpool again with the family we will be back. Thanks for the great service.
"loved it !!!"
stayed for one night with my girlfriend , amazing service staff are very pleasant, the room was amazing we even had a view of the pleasure beach and the breakfast was very nice , will be staying again
"big blue us away"
brilliant hotel and staff its a credit to them that makes this hotel what it is,brilliant,my only gripes ar the stand chairs in the rooms are not cumfortable to sit on as the seat cusions have seen their best as you sit on the frame of the chair instead, also the exit security code machine is in the wrong place, its right on the cornerbehind a bush and you have to manover your car to get near it, but othewise i would recomend this hotel to anybody as it was recomended to me once again brilliant*****
"One of the worst hotels I've been too"
My parents my little sister and I came to Blackpool for a 4 day short getaway during a 2 week school holiday. We were excited for this trip especially as we had never been to Blackpool, me and my sister were mostly looking forward to pleasure beach. We arrived at the hotel at around 1:00pm, it was very outdated the staff were rude and had horrible customer service as they were too busy doing their own thing. The overall first impression was not good. We were told our room wouldn't be ready till around 4:00 we were all shocked and quite disappointed as our journey had been almost 3hrs and everyone wanted to relax in the hotel room. After exploring the area for a bit and going for lunch we returned and where told our room was done. It was very small considering the room was meant to be for 4 people the worst part was my parents had clearly stated they had and older teenage child(me) when booking and expected I would get a reasonably sized bed to fit a 14 year old. I am quite tall and I could not fit in those tiny bunk beds so having a nice sleep was inevitable. For a 4 star hotel the food was very basic and of low standard there wasn't much variety so we ended up eating in other restaurants within the boardwalk pier areas. Breakfast was a nightmare we waited almost 25 minutes for a table although the food wasn't that well you could clearly tell how unorganised the food was as it was lacking some basic food expected in a '4 star' breakfast. The rooms were dirty and unkept. The showers provided small towels and barely any soap of standard toiletries. You had to also share one remote between two TVs. Blackpool is a beautiful place it's scenery, attractions and overall atmosphere is great. I just highly recommend you just don't stay at The Big blue hotel especially, if you have children it's awful.
