This is my second visit to this hotel and once again couldn't fault it, we stayed in a deluxe double room which was spotless on arrival. Every member of staff was helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. We had booked a deal where our evening meal was inclusive. Will definitely stay again
"Last minute night away "
Stayed for one night with husband and 2 yr old daughter- hotel perfect. We all loved it. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk, biscuits and water in room. Lots of towels and toiletries. Huge tv and really comfortable rooms. Bed was enormous. Breakfast was brilliant and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Booked to stay again before we left.
"A cut above the rest."
This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel, but it most certainly will not be the last. The Deluxe Double Room was faultless and was worth paying extra for. Although it states that there could be an occasional delay at breakfast we went at different times during our stay and never experienced a delay. The staff in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful at all times. Staff in reception were also always polite, helpful and friendly. This hotel has a very professional feel to it and customer is king.
"Fantastic stay "
Stayed here again for two nights. Excellent as always. Staff are so friendly and helpful nothing Is too much trouble. Our window was slightly broken when we arrived. Within half an hour it was fixed. Clean room excellent breakfast and evening meal. Thank you for an enjoyable stay. Will be back in June.
"Big, Blue and Bland"
We stretched our budget to stay at the Big Blue Hotel and were frankly disappointed. It's clean, but has all the charm of a dentist's surgery. It's also very very noisy! We were travelling as a band and booked four rooms, which were essentially all the same; same picture, same layout, very little imagination had gone into the decor, which is a shame as the Big Blue Hotel markets itself as 'boutique'. I could see scarce consideration for the environment; takeaway plastic toiletries and disposable plastic glasses in the rooms, no fairtrade tea or coffee (or unmarked if it was). I was kept up all night by the air conditioning in the passage way, having turned off the loud fan in our room. Then because it is a family friendly place, the morning was punctuated by the dawn chorus of young children. The ice machine in the bar was torture for the tinitus sufferer we met up to have drinks with in the evening. We work with heavy machinery and were surprised the operator didn't need ear defenders. Why ice wasn't made in the kitchen but had to be done individually for each drink was beyond us. On the plus side the staff were very friendly. Last year we stayed in the Doric which was far superior in every way, and considerably cheaper. Unfortunately they don't do one night stays, while the Big Blue do, and as we were in Blackpool to perform were only staying briefly, We won't be rushing back.
