Unfortunately my stay at this amazing hotel was a mere 4 days. This is the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The service is exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The staff are friendly and warm. The breakfast to die for. I truly gorgeous location, with private beach. Well laid out rooms. There is nothing I can fault about this hotel. The only downside of this experience for me is that I went alone, it would have been wonderful to have shared it with someone. Fabulous! 10/10
"An Excellent Hotel"
This was the standout hotel of our holiday. The Chedi catered for all the comforts we required and more. The facilities were excellent. The rooms very comfortable with his and hers dressing areas. The dining facilities were varied and the food in those that we tried was first class. The beach restaurant offers a very good dining experience with a good menu and wine list. We had an excellent meal there. For those who enjoy the beach and pool facilities the hotel caters for every wish. The staff were very obliging and attentive thereby making our stay very comfortable. (Take note that the standard rooms only have queen size beds this may or may not be an issue for others.) All in all a top hotel
"Not only a style to remember ….."
…. but the service as well. We have spent 10 days in a Chedi Club Suite (1007 – stand-alone building) that gives a certain privacy. The rooms are stylish and spacious. 3 different air-conditioners allow customized temperature in the suite. At night a little noisy – but even after switching off – the temperature remains at reasonable level. The gardens , the pools and the lighting at night are 1:1 with the prospectus – no photo shop fake at all - just fantastic. We enjoyed throughout our stay a perfect service – from the reception to the restaurants – not forgetting the very obliging staff at the beach. The restaurant does not only offer international menus but – and this was very important for us – Arabic specialities. The hotel offers different trips to explore the country. Do not miss some of them and get out of the dream world of the Chedi as well. Muscat City Tour, Nizwa and the Grand Canyon and the Desert Adventure and Oasis Trail until sunset complete a memorable stay in a wonderful country. If you get Faisal Al Belushi as guide – you hit the jackpot. He is probably one of the best ambassadors for Oman. The Hotel Boutique should offer more local items without becoming a real souk. All in all – great days in an Arabic country
"The reviews don't lie"
This certainly IS a very nice hotel and we (a family of 4) fully enjoyed our stay there. However, we have stayed in many nice places all over the World and I am not sure it really deserves to be in top 100 which it allegedly should be. It is very expensive and we did experience a few hick-ups which shouldn't be there if you want to be among the best. But it is a very beautiful place (especially in the evenings when bonfires are lit all over the place) and there is a silence and calmness over the place which really makes you relax. Staff is friendly and restaurants, pools, gym and spa are all worth a visit.
"World-class grounds but the rooms are a little tired"
We stayed for one night at the Chedi at the end of our Oman holiday. The warm welcome is in the fantastic reception and you feel like you're entering a very luxurious hotel. Our room was ready early so we checked in and headed for the pools. The grounds of the Chedi are spectacular and the three pool areas all have a different vibe and are equally cool. We hung out at the long pool and had a very nice lunch delivered on a tray to our enormous bed (sun loungers are so over). This was meant to be adult only but there was teenager opposite us - not a massive problem as she was very quiet and well behaved but rules are rules, no' Our room was nice but not jaw-dropping and for the price, I expect my jaw to drop. They are small, the bathroom arrangement is a little odd and the air con is old fashioned and far too cold. It was impossible to change this so we had to switch it off. The bed is not the most comfortable. All in all, we were disappointed with the room. We had breakfast before heading to the airport. The buffet bar is very comprehensive and the quality is high and what you expect from a hotel like the Chedi. We ordered off the menu as well which was very limited. My pancakes arrived stone cold. My husband's didn't turn up so we had to ask after them and they eventually came along, his were hot! The waiter was apologetic to a point but it just seems sloppy at a hotel where the service should be good. The Chedi is an experience you don't want to miss in Oman, it's one of the most amazing hotels in the world in terms of the grounds, the gardens, the pools and on that, it doesn't disappoint. However, it is very expensive and I think the rooms need a refresh to justify the price fully.
