"Stylish charm in old Chinatown Singapore"
I booked 3 rooms for friends from Canada, Australia, and Malaysia who visited during the Christmas holidays. All of them were impressed by the hotel's charm as it is a stylishly decorated and renovated old building located in a trendy part of Singapore (Club Street and Chinatown which is walking distance from other points of interests). The rooms were very well decorated, modern yet with traditional charm and comfortable. All rooms come with a phone you can take away and use while in Singapore to surf on the internet and make international calls - all for free. The staff are friendly, helpful and very service driven. They gave useful tips on where to go, what to visit and where the best restaurants were. This is an excellent place to stay (unless you are looking for a hotel with a gym which it does not have). Highly recommended.

"Charming and stylish"
I had an excellent time staying at The Club. Although the hotel is not super close to an MRT station, but it takes only about 7 minutes on foot from the Telok Ayer MRT (alternately, you can go through the Ann Siang Hill Park, which leads you to Amoy Street, and can save yourself 2 minutes). However, if you are dragging a big wheeled suitcase with you, I'd suggest getting off at the Tanjong Pagar station (Maxwell Road Exit) because the pavement on Club Street and Ann Siang Road has a lot of steps and tables in front of shops. Also, the green MRT line takes you from and to the airport. The area looks safe and decent. Even when it was Saturday night where there were more people and the pubs played loud music, it didn't feel unsafe or threatening. Maybe because my room was facing the other way too, I was not at all bothered by the noises other reviewers complained about. It is 2 minutes away from the Maxwell Food Center and 5 minutes from Amoy Food Center. There are also 2 small 7/11 stores around the corner too. Not to mention, Chinatown is very near. You will be spoiled for choices. The hotel should be described as cozy and classy. The room I stayed in seemed a little smaller than I had imagined, but it was more than enough for one person. It has everything you would expect from a four-starred hotel, except they doesn't give you slippers. I really enjoyed the Nespresso machine in my room. When the coffee aroma filled the air in the morning, it was just divine. The mattress, pillows and beddings were perfect. The hotel provides a handyphone, which you can use to call the UK, US, China, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore free of charge (I didn't get to try it, though). You can even book tickets through it and take it out with you. I absolutely loved the boutique-style decoration. If there was anything I had a problem with, I would say it was the hi-tech stuff, like the smart TV and the keycard scanner at the door. But once you know how to use them, they are fine. The breakfast was probably the part I had been looking forwards to and it did not disappoint. The breakfast-in-bed took half an hour to be delivered to my door, which was good. The continental breakfast was light and lovely. The homemade pastries were very nice and arrived warm. The English breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. It was of premium quality and very enjoyable indeed. The breakfast is usually served at the restaurant on the ground floor--an elegant and classy place. The service by the staff was flawless. The reception was efficient, friendly and helpful.I couldn't have asked for more.
"Old World Style"
We had the pleasure of 5 nights at The Club. From the moment we arrived the welcoming staff could do enough for us, & genuinely wanted to make our stay an experience. The rooms are of a good size & the bathroom well appointed. The provision of a complimentary "smart phone" to assist in getting around Singapore was something we hadn't experienced before. The Club is situated in close proximity to China town, access to modern bars restaurants is easy walking. Make sure you try Ding Dongs for unforgettable Vietnamese cuisine! There is no doubt we will be staying at The Club on future visits.
"What an amazing place!"
This is a first for me,I feel really comfortable writing a review on the first night of our stay. What a fantastic place! A great location on the edge of Chinatown. A rooftop bar, lobby bar and a Whisky bar in the basement! Right in the centre of the bar scene, so don't expect noise free. The staff have been so helpful and friendly. The room although fairly compact is fitted to the highest standard. Wifi is complementary as is the juice mini bar in the room. They even loan you a "Handiphone" mobile phone to use during your stay. I can't fault it.
