Lovely grounds. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with plunge pool which was lovely, very spacious with living area, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms and a huge balcony. Beach was lovely. Only downside for me was that there were not enough restaurants for the size of the resort. Situated on the bottom end of the east coast so not much else around there.
"The Crane, October 2016"
Very beautiful grounds over looking the Atlantic with waves crashing among the rocks and cliffs. It also has a well maintained beach that is accessible by stairs or elevator. All of the staff we interacted with were very courteous and friendly Food was average and priced a bit high for our liking. Room was very clean and beds comfy. It is the off season so there was some construction/renovation going on but it was very quiet and didn't disturb us. .
"Elegant and very unique"
This resort was very interesting to me. I've been a long time Sandals brand fan, and opt for all inclusive. For one of my latest ventures, I asked my TA Ryan of VIP Vacations in Bethlehem PA for an island where I can have lavish surrounds, but be free to explore (while feeling safe!). We came upon Barbados, and it was a very different trip. What is unique about Barbados is that they want you to explore some local culture. Like NYC, Zagat has reviewed all of the restaurants on the island which shows their appealing local cuisine, but also that they recommend you go try new things. The rooms at the Crane are extremely lavish and large. We had a 1 Bedroom Oceanview Suite, and the space was huge. Gigantic bathroom, master bedroom, and a wonderful living room with breathtaking views. The windows were massive to which let in a wonderful breeze! The food and the service were top notch as well. My only downside, very client with little to don the actual property. Maybe aimed more for a British or Canadian clientele who enjoy longer stays completely disconnected from reality; I enjoy more activity, but i still loved the property and definitely recommend it and Barbados as a whole. Any questions' Feel free to PM me!
"Over the top staff"
First time to the resort, will return for sure. The staff goes out of their way to help, they don't give directions they take you to your location. The resort is quite big and spread out and the staff was more than willing to help with any request. Ate all of the Restaurants and all were different with varied offerings, all good and prices were very reasonable. Room, ocean view suite was great, large and very clean. We took advantage of the kitchen for breakfast and snacks by visiting a local grocery store. Interesting experience in itself. Quiet side of the island with not much else there but The Crane itself, but you really don't need to leave unless you want to. Just a fabulous place to go to kick back and relax. Made a trip to Bridgetown for a little local culture and sightseeing but that only consumed a few hours. Got exactly what I was hoping for, awesome trip.
"Secluded Paradise "
Pink sandy beach, pounding waves, perfect weather, luxurious amenities made this the perfect getaway to be left alone. Barely had any interaction with guests at the resort which was kind of refreshing. Had the ability to have many different pools all to ourselves every day being low season. Cook in your unit at your own leisure or eat at the many restaurants on site. Do yourself a favour and buy butter, milk, eggs, fish, chicken, buns or bread, veggies and fruit. Also buy treats like pone and sweet bread. We bought everything in Bridgetown and bussed it all the way back. Only ideal if you can walk and carry for long distances. Bring the following: salt/pepper, oatmeal packs, coffee, tea, cereal, snack bites, tortillas, rice and noodle quick meals. Anything in packaging is quite expensive in Barbados but very cheap for us to take. Buying alcohol at the airport once you land is best but the gift store at the resort was good too. Take the catamaran day cruise and swim with the turtles. Most fun and you get your monies worth. Oistens is a must on Friday do not miss this but I think a day trip would be good too to get fresh fish and see the processing area. Don't be shy about venturing to other beaches there are so many great spots all along the bus routes. Really loved taking the bus ($1US), very crowded at times but cheap and you become very familiar with the area for future trips.
