"Good hotel, perfect location"
This is the first time I stay at Dusit Thani hotel. A friend give us good recommendation, so we decided to book the hotel for 2 nights in Bangkok this early Jan. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, They gave us very good advice how to get to different locations in Bangkok, what type of transportation should be used. The location is excelent, we can walk to the MRT and a beautiful park just on the other side of the road make a good relax after a hot day in Bangkok. However, the room's facilities need upgrade but not a big problem at all for us. We will use Dusit Thani again the next time going to Bangkok.
"5 Star Comfort and Convenience"
It may be old but the Dusit still sets itself apart with the 5Star service it offers. The bed is amazing with pillow menu. I got a non smoking room because i don't like the smell of tobacco in the room. But since ours has a balcony, my companion can still comfortably smoke outside. The linens are always well kept and the black out curtains always well ironed. It is strategically located and suited well to us first timers in Bangkok. Just outside is the MRT Silom station and a few meters aways is the BTS Sala Daeng. Across is the Lumpini Park that is just so nice of a view. The malls are very near thus using Uber is very advisable especially if you have done a lot of shopping. The area abound with all you need. From nice cafes to very cheap street food options to ATMs and convenience stores. Also the Patpong area is just a fee minutes walk away. Tip: Just be aware that the convenience stores dnt sell liquors and beer after midnight!
The Dusit Thani is in a great location . The sky train is outside the hotel so it's easy to get about. I have stayed here twice now. The first time was in a club room. This is my preferred option as the decor and facilities are more up to date. You also get a balcony! This time I opted for a standard room. The room was a little dated but everything you needed was in the room and it was a good size. It was also very quiet. The reception area is beautiful in the Dusit Thani. It smells great and the staff are always polite and happy to help. The breakfast is excellent with an outstanding range of breakfast options. It was hard to decide what to eat! The pool area is quiet and is quite a sun trap. It's a nice getaway if you want some time away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Would I return to this hotel again' Most definitely ... It's the perfect base to explore Bangkok.
"Grand old dame, very good location."
Great old hotel, dated interior, could use some touch up but staff are top notch. Friendly and well trained and helpful. Lots of eateries inside with wide range of options. The pool is very old though and needs to be renovated. No children's pool. Limited options for kids. Bed comfortable, a bit of a walk from hotel to BTS Sala daeng but the MRT Si Lom station is just outside the hotel. Fantastic as i dont believe in taking taxi or car in BKK.
