"Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok"
The family's most awaited holiday finally happened on 23rd December, combined with Christmas celebration in Bangkok! We stayed at the Dusit Thani Hotel, one of the most iconic, traditional Thai hotels in Bangkok. It is also situated in central Bangkok where touring around is very convenient. The lobby has been modernised, very friendly and professional staff, This upscale hotel is also 6 km from the renown Emerald Buddha, the floating market, temples.
"By far the best hotel I stayed out in Thailand"
Wow! Every detail of this hotel was thought of and designed for a luxurious experience. From the nicely scented hallways to the plush furniture and super comfortable mattress. They even offer a pillow menu! The interior was presidential quality. The location is also super convenient, there's a market nearby for lots of good eats. You're right at the BTS and Metro stations, and very close to the Silom Night Market. I tried another top-end hotel while in Bangkok, but If I'm back in Thailand I'll be sure to stay at the Dusit.
Hotels location is very good and can reach all other tourist places in few mins. Service is good. Rooms are clean and neat though small . Highly recommended in bangkok. Very beautiful city with lot and lot of options for shopping.
"Very nice hotel"
My husband and I spent 3 days here and we loved it. The staff from the minute we checked in were very professional, helpful and friendly. The location is perfect as it has the sky train and metro stop outside and is only a 10 minute walk to the night market. Lumpini park is opposite the hotel which is a very nice park for a stroll around. We are at the hotel Thai restaurant on the first night as we were tired after our flight from London. The food was excellent and very good service. We see very pleased with our hotel as it was a good size and clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it.
"Good value for money"
I booked my stay at The Dusit Thani on the day of my arrival and got a great price (£300 for 3 nights) so I have no complaints about value. You will struggle to find a cheaper 5 star hotel. The welcome, check in and reception could not have been warmer or friendlier and was very efficient. Staff throughout the hotel were very welcoming. The room (admittedly the cheapest) was on the small side but was clean and adequate. The bathroom in particular was very small. Although comfortable the room was a little tired and dated. The wardrobe lacked lighting so you struggled to see the numbers on the mini safe. The electronic toilet seat failed to work and the water pressure was very low. The corridors outside of the room (11th floor) were tried with stained carpets. Breakfast was good but not exceptional featuring all the usual buffet selection. I tried the Thai restaurant on the first night, arriving at 9.00pm. It was very quiet. The food was ok but not as good as Thai food elsewhere or even the UK. Before the main courses had arrived I was asked if I would like to order dessert as the kitchen was closing at 10.00 - hardly late for a restaurant in an international 5 star hotel! The next day I tried the outdoor bar. Very attractive next to the waterfall. I arrived at 10.30 and ordered a glass of wine - very nice as it happens. Before I had finished I was asked if would like anything else as the bar was closing at 11.00! Again not impressive. The alternative "bar" was not a bar at all but a lounge. It lacked atmosphere, you were spread out so you couldn't chat with fellow guest and the service lacked the hospitality of the rest of the hotel. Overall the hotel offered everything you could want in a good location at a reasonable cost. However personally I would not return as I think there are better options and that my room at least didn't warrant 5 star accreditation.
