Concierge were really friendly and helpful. We're able to get a early check in on the day. Location was perfect - walking distance to shops, restaurants, Rogers area etc.Comment of M. Lauren , Australia the 2015-10-24
Overall a pleasant experience. Did not dine at the hotel due to the excessive cost.Comment of N. William , Canada the 2015-09-14
This was a perfect spot for our three day Vancouver getaway. Ideally located, old-school luxurious, classic Fairmont service. The hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay, and it was very noisy at times, even from within our room. As long as you aren't spending a lot of time in your room during the day, this isn't too much of an issue -- though I wouldn't have wanted to attempt an afternoon nap. On the whole, it was great value for the price that we paid, and we would happily stay there again.Comment of J. Dawn , Canada the 2015-08-26

"Fairy Tale Afternoon Tea"
The Fairy Tale afternoon tea is an experience you should avoid. It was a great disappointment from the time you were escorted to your table through to paying the check. The hotel describes fairy tale tea in the Notch 8 private dining area as being 'transformed to take you on an imaginative fairy tale world'. In reality this was just an ordinary seating area where the lights could be dimmed at random. Nothing imaginative in that' The concept of the themed menu left my three guests and I completely mystified. The waitress struggled to describe the individual components that arrived on 'tree stumps' (an alternative to a sandwich stand) and by the time she had finished none of us were able to remember much of what she had said. The height of the tree stumps made it difficult to speak to or see anyone sitting on the opposite side of the table. The china tea service was what I would have expected and the selection of tea and taste of the first cup was good. However when the waitress came to offer us more tea, the teapot was simply topped up with hot water on each occasion. All this did was to reduce the strength and flavour of each cup. When you are being charged premium rates for this type of event I would be expecting a fresh pot of tea each time. The afternoon tea was to celebrate a special family reunion but unfortunately our meeting will be remembered as a costly disappointment. Had hoped for much much more.
Room is lovely and large. There is construction though in the hotel. Every day. So drilling and hammering noises. I would have booked elsewhere had I known but who would think to ask!! Also pool is closed for renovations which is disappointing. Would be best to wait until renos are completed to books stay here. Great location.
I spent 3 nights at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for business. It was a great experience. Here's why: Location : it is centrally located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. I cannot stress how convenient it was and how accessible everything is from this location. If you like to walk, the hotel is within walking distances to best attractions in Vancouver - CF Pacific Centre, Yaletown, Robson street, Stanley Park. Suite : I stayed on one of the newly renovated floors in a king suite. It looks fresh and elegant. My suite was beautiful and I adored the complimentary toiletries and bottled water that was provided. Service : responsive, friendly, helpful and unfailingly polite. Top marks for service. Hotel decor : gorgeous, elegant and sumptuous. The hotel is under renovation but it was never a problem. I barely noticed this was happening. Dogs : the property has 2 dogs and they are the sweetest, most well mannered dogs. Ella and Bo - delightful. I would highly recommend!
"Beautiful hotel "
The staff were all extremely and kind. The food exquisite. And absolutely loved my smoking room on the top smoking floor. Found this a real treat. The view was spectacular. Thank you for making my stay a delight as my first visit to Vancouver.
"My go to hotel in Vancouver"
I've likely stayed here 15 times and it has only gotten better. The recent renovation to the lobby and bar is amazing and puts the hotel back up there with some of the new hot hotels in Vancouver (Hotel Georgia across the street, the Pacific Rim, etc). The renovated rooms are also amazing and its worth joining the fairmont presidents club - no need to pack gym shoes (they will provide them for you as well as gym clothes... but I'll use my own!). The staff here is great and is very helpful (I once accidentally threw out some important documents here and flew home. I called the staff and someone actually went through the recycling, found the docs and couriered them back to me!) I will keep coming back!
