"Beautiful and interesting "
I spent two days on business. I got a room on the third floor with a view of the back street. The room was very large, with a sitting area and separate bedroom. Kuerig coffee service was nice. One bottle of free water and a fully stocked mini-bar. Checking in was quick and friendly. The property itself is very well maintained. Elegant, with a feel of resort elegance. Overall service was excellent. Robes and slippers in the room. The workout room was also very modern and nice. Lots of machines and equipment. The food in the restaurants was okay. Pricey. I would stay here again for business. But know that Santa Monica traffic can be a bear.
"Spring break Cali "
I love the location of this Fairmont , close to beach and the pier and the promenade. This is the first time I've been to California and so far it's awesome. Santa Monica pier is busy and nice for souvenirs and taking pictures or going on the Ferris wheel at night and enjoying the views .
"Great hotel in Santa Monica"
We stayed 1 week in total in this hotel during our trip through california and it was amazing. The hotel offer a free shuttle to the beach, the fitness center is amazing, and you have a trendy bar at the hotel. The suite we stayed in was amazing with a great view on the Ocean.
I stayed two nights here and loved the location, which was across the street from the ocean. There's lots to do in the area in addition to the beach and the views from the rooms are great. The property is really nice and the staff very helpful. This is one of those places where you can park your car and not have to move it until it's time to leave because there's so much to do within walking distance.
"Great two night stay"
I booked the Miramar using a credit card that had a luxury hotel perk. So we got a good rate, breakfasts, and a $100 credit for meals. I booked an ocean view room and was please to get a room on the 10th floor facing the ocean and beach directly. Checking was easy and the man at the desk explained the perks with our booking. We needed a late checkout and that was no problem. The room itself was adequately large but not huge. It's decor was passable but a bit dated. Walls were covered with a grass cloth paper and the drapes had an orange motif. There was a narrow balcony with a bistro table and two chairs. Inside there was a desk, small dresser, nightstand, plus mini bar with a Keurig machine. I was pleasantly surprised to find an Eames chair and ottoman in the room. The bathroom was smallish with marble all around, and a marble counter and under mounted sink (single). There was one small glass shelf in addition to the countertop for storing product; no space or shelves under the sink. The shower had a marble surround with a glass door. The door opens into the shower and there is a little learning curve on getting the shower going but not much. Towels were adequate but not sumptuous for the price. Water is cheerfully brought to the room each evening. Breakfast in the Fig is a pleasure and we enjoyed having dinner there tonight. There is a half price happy hour at 5 pm. However, hard surfaces abound in the Fig and it can be noisy. On warmer days you can dine outside by a koi pond with waterfall and the setting is lovely. Everyone here is gracious to a fault. It reminds us a bit of the Biltmore in Santa Barbara though more compact. We did not swim, but the pool is on the smallish side and not really conducive to laps. The pool deck is partially shaded by the hotel, though in full summer that may not be an issue. The location is excellent and near a ramp that takes you down the incline to the beach. We walked and did not borrow bicycles. We did not use concierge services so cannot comment. My wife is from LA but we don't live in CA now. However we enjoy indulging ourselves in older historical CA resorts and felt very much at home here. There are cabanas or casitas around the pool - would love to know what they are like but did not have a chance to peek in. On our floor there are suites with living rooms and dining tables - we peeked in as they were being made up. They looked quite nice but again not huge. All in all a very positive experience and would love to return.
