"New Year's Eve Romantic staycation "
My husband and I chose to stay at the Fullerton Bay Hotel as a staycation before we leave Singapore after more than six years in this incredible country. We had never seen a New Year's Eve fireworks in Singapore except from the TV in our home or friends' homes whilst celebrating it. We could have stayed at any hotel or resort near Marina Bay to watch the fireworks, but living here six years, we knew Fullerton was our choice, It cannot possibly disappoint! We spent Thursday through Sunday January 1st. The breakfast buffet is expansive and should meet anyone's dietary and ethnic needs. They even have a kopitiam set-up with teh tarik and kopi with all the typical milks and the classic green motif cups and saucers. Such a nice touch of local flavour! My only suggestion here is to train the servers, who set up this table, to ALWAYS place the kopi (coffee) dispenser to one side with the teh (tea) to the other side. We are creatures of habit and in the early morning we reach for "the familiar" and twice the kopi and teh were in different positions and we poured teh instead of kopi and we laughed as others had done the same! The smoked salmon in the buffet was of high quality and even the croissants were not affected by humidity as they are in other Asian breakfast buffets. When you pay a premium for rooms every detail counts. We used the pools, the sundeck, and availed of various bars. The service everywhere was friendly and kind and appeared sincere. We noticed when a group of female Korean tourists arrived in one of the bars, a Korean waitress was dispatched to take their orders. The Korean language shared made those girls feel at home. Nice to see that level of attention. Whether we ordered alcoholic beverages, mocktails, or plain soda water with lemon, the level of service was the same and NOT pushy as you see elsewhere, nor were you made to feel "less valued a customer" because you did not order alcohol. I never feel less valued but I have been privy to other customer's complaints in other hotels in Asia. I never experienced it at Fullerton or in Singapore. Our room was perfect! I am a germophobe and check everything carefully and saw no mold in bathroom or any dust or dirt anywhere. The electronic draperies and curtains function via a panel at the bedside! Nice touch! The bathroom amenities are high quality. We declined the turn down service but it is offered. The fireworks were fantastic! We recommend tourists and locals to choose the Fullerton Bay and either book a table so you and your party can arrive closer to the fireworks time or choose a standing table and arrive early because it is first come, first served. We were by ourselves and enjoyed a table with a great view. We booked a snack tray ahead of time and ordered champagne. A surprise inspection early in the evening by the Fullerton Manager gave us a chance to meet him and compliment his hotel (he manages seven properties of the Fullerton). He really really cares about his employees and the customers and it shows! This was a terrific staycation and we have wonderful memories of New Year's 2017!!!
"Fantastic hotel located in a prime location"
We stayed in at the Fullerton bay hotel during our honeymoon back in 2012, and we were amazed by the service and the complementary room upgrade we recived. Great food and drinks at the roof top with the stunning view of Marina bay sands etc, made this a complete trip for us. In addition, my wife managed to get food posining prior our landing in Singapore, and the staff was helpful with providing us assistance 24/7.
"Great for a drink & some food "
Stopped in here for a drink on their roof top beautiful views of the Marina bay sands etc and they had $12 mojitos which is a bargain for Singapore my friend ordered snacks which were pretty pricey but yum. Decided to go Downstairs to the restaurant and treat ourselves to their set menu as it was pretty reasonably priced. The food was nice but nothing to write home about especially when there's so many options food wise in Singapore . Still beautiful venue and good service.
"10% service charge is a fraud "
They must eliminate this fraudulent 10% service charge. Staff is not getting it. They still expect tips. In usa that will be illegal. Hotel is a service to begin with. Why the service charge. Hotel employees don't know why this service charge. Hotels will be better off increasing the price by this amount and not levy an illegal service charge
Beautiful Hotel and beautiful service! Best bit was having drinks on the rooftop pool watching the laser show! Love the infinity jacuzzis on the side of the building! Perfect for pre dinner drinks to look at the beautiful view!
