Gentilezza, pulizia, comodita e ampiezza della camera e della stanza da bagno, colazione stupefacente, qualita altissima.Comment of G. Barbara , Italy the 2015-07-17
We had three very comfortable days at this hotel, it's very well located on the river, within easy walking of everything you would want to see. The drinks are a horrific price, but then all alcohol is in Singapore. Breakfast was varied a delicious, we had one dinner which was average. We upgraded our room to one on the second floor, which was very nice with access to the terrace, and a lovely river view. I would leave the mini bar alone, it's very expensive, I just don't understand why hotels have to charge such a ridiculous price for snacks and soft drinks, surely to charge just a little over shop prices would be adequate. The water in the bath/shower was only just warm enough when ever I took it, so if you like a long hot bath you will not get it here, make sure someone shows you how to turn out the lights no instructions, no switches it's on the top of the digital alarm clock...silly me!!
"Company dinner @ TOWN"
Had our company dinner at TOWN in Fullerton Hotel as it was our first year company anniversary. Food was splendid and it was unique because they had different special dish made by the chef at around 20 minutes interval. Special thumbs up to Mannan for his tip top service. He always serve us with a smile from the moment we step in till we left the place and making sure we enjoyed our dinner. Excellent job. Not to forget Maria Singh for her personal thought of arranging a cake for our company's anniversary. Thank you!
"Superb hotel - Straits Club staff outstanding"
My wife (Susan) and I had come over from Jakarta and stayed last weekend (3D4N) and took the opportunity to join the Straits Club. We are regular visitors to Singapore but had never stayed before at the Fullerton. That was a sensible decision as the hotel was a highlight of the trip. We are used to Executive Clubs in hotels but this one - the Straits Club - was top shelf. Such a treat to enjoy champagne and first class food. Breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails were just terrific. We cannot thank staff enough for their outstanding service. They were invariably efficient and friendly. The stand outs were Gaby and Edison in the Straits Club. They are impressive young staff members and fine representatives of this hotel. Our thanks as well to Angel and Paolo. This was a marvellous break made all the better by an outstanding hotel. If you can, we recommend take the free tour of the hotel (former Post Office operating since 1928). That was very interesting. Our courtyard room was very comfortable. The pool at the Fullerton is sensational. What amazing views overlooking Clarke Quay/ the Asian Civilisations Museum. Again our thanks to all the Fullerton Hotel team. Well done!
"Beautiful historical hotel with breathtaking views"
We had a pleasant stay at the Fullerton Hotel, a lovely hotel with a little bit of history. Built in 1928, it used to be Singapore’s General Post Office, and since December 2015, this heritage hotel has become a National Monument. The Raffles Hotel may well be the better known heritage hotel, but it cannot compete with the amazing city views that The Fullerton offers in spades. We stayed in a well-appointed Premier Quay Room with a balcony that showcased a gorgeous panoramic view of the Marina Bay area, with the Marina Bay Sands right smack in the middle, the Esplanade to our left and the Fullerton Bay Hotel and the Central Business District to our right. All of it seemed rather strategic. On the 6th floor of the 8-storey hotel (excluding the rooftop), we felt very close to everything. (It must be said that the view was only very slightly hampered by the height of the hotel; if you are one for more spectacular views from a stratospheric height, try the rooms at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia or Marina Bay Sands.) What makes the Fullerton Hotel special: 1) It is a grand Neo-classical building, with simple elegance. 2) Very centrally located, the hotel is perfect for tourists and especially for business travellers who may have meetings in the Central Business District, which is just a stone’s throw away. The hotel is also a short walk from a myriad of restaurants at One Fullerton and the lively Boat Quay along the Singapore River. 3) We found all the staff consistently friendly and obliging. They surprised my aunt with a chocolate cake and balloons on her 70th birthday, with the staff on hand even initiating the singing of the birthday song. The birthday girl was thrilled to bits. 4) As it was a hotel-spa package, we had relaxing massages from very professional and experienced masseurs at the Fullerton Spa. 5) The breakfast buffet with its extensive range at the Town Restaurant, like those at other top international hotels, is more like a sumptuous brunch than breakfast. It makes lunch time redundant, allowing for more time to explore the city! 6) The 25-metre infinity pool is a good size for laps and is family-friendly as it is not very deep. Some observations: 1) For a five-star hotel, there were several occasions of tardiness and service lapses. For example, our room was not ready at the official check-in time until about an hour later, and we were in fact the ones who took the initiative to check on room availability/preparedness. Perhaps that was why there was a room upgrade to “a room with a view”. Another instance of tardiness: while waiting for the room, we decided to have tea at the Fullerton Cake Boutique and it took ages for the tea, cake and pie to be served. Last but not least, on two separate occasions, requests for honey to accompany Camomile tea were acknowledged but forgotten, and so requests had to be made again. (There ought to be a better system of taking note of requests from guests.) 2) Souvenirs in the room are chargeable. The Fullerton teddy bear in a bathrobe promoting spa services (S$22/GBP12/USD15) is rather cute, but the same cannot be said for the Merlion (S$20/GBP11/USD14) that is part of a social enterprise project, to put it very mildly and diplomatically. Given that both items do not cost much, it would have been better to offer them as welcome souvenirs (or evening turn-down service souvenirs) to delight hotel guests who would in turn share a little of the local culture with loved ones back home. We suspect the Merlion will remain in the room though. 3) The free heritage tour is not available every day, even if the promise of such a tour is stated in your hotel reservation confirmation. The short tour is indoors and takes you around the hotel, including the former lighthouse at the rooftop. History buffs may find it helpful to set aside some time for the tour and/or visit the heritage gallery alone. 4) The dinner buffet at Town Restaurant was rather anti-climactic, with dishes that were nothing to shout about. (Our meal at the Fullerton Bay Hotel was decidedly better.) However, the sashimi was very fresh and was the best of the lot.
We are checking out today after three magnificent nights in the Fullerton hotel. We had a premier quay room with balcony (number 689) with fabulous view overlooking the marina bay. This hotel sets the standard for 5 star service. The staff are incredibly well trained, welcoming, professional, and anticipate every need. From a smooth check in to the incredible staff in the post bar, particularly Vicky, who made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Vicky is an exceptional staff member and he really sets the tone for the whole hotel. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the staff were so kind in sending 30th wedding anniversary treats like balloons and a beautiful bottle of wine. Even staff we had not met like Boon in reception congratulated us on our anniversary and it is the special touches that make this hotel truly remarkable. I commend the management of this facility for setting outstanding professional standards and thoughtfulness to guests. While it is certainly a treat to stay here and more expensive than other options every effort is made for guests to thoroughly enjoy their stay. The hotel has great facilities and a fabulous pool and is in a tremendous location for seeing the sights.. this is been a truly fabulous time and I would highly recommend this hotel.
